THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS:Is Wufeng's leader really Dianzhu? Who are the unbelievers and what are they? Where…
I think some of the questions you've asked were answered in the show while others remained a mystery probably because they initially planned a second season (Not sure about it's status now).
1. Qian answers that Wufengs meeting was cancelled after Dianzhu was poisoned. She speculates this points to her being the head of Wufeng. She's probably right, or Dianzhu is at least the second most important assassins of the sect. 2. Yun Que steals the elixir when she gets out of the box after getting into the Gong residence. It's possible she had it on her when she was hanged, considering she was conspiring with elder Yue. Considering that she had taken a poison to seem dead, it's highly possible she had the elixir on her for when she awakened. 3. Qian was already a Mei. However, Yun Weishan obviously did not seem like a Chi, her skills seemed higher than a Mei's. 4. Chuyun Chonglian literally brought JF back to life. It's purpose was fulfilled since it also neutralised the witchcraft and clearly made him stronger. 5. I think Qian wasn't lying about the pregnancy considering the last scene where she's lovingly tending to the white azaleas. There were also scenes where she was clearly conflicted and seemed to be in love with Shangjue. I think she was just conflicted because she didn't know that she wasn't actually poisoned and was looking out for herself (and probably her baby). She wasn't a bad person overall, there were several times when she helped Yun Weishan when she didn't have to. You're right about her mysterious identity though. 6. Was Shangjue really a foold though? It seems he was always suspicious of her, even when jer identity was proven. He literally used her to advance their plan, but he did seem to have genuine affection for her aswell. Maybe it grew over time, but he always put the Gong family first. With the way the season ended we can't really tell if he had someone tail her, but considering who he is and how he operates, it's possible. 7. I agree with you on the levels of the guards, a lot reamins to be explained there.
The remaining questions are valid. I think they were expecting to make a second season and didn't answer a lot of the important questions.
One of my main issues with the show was the timing was off, both the girls were poisoned and had a fortnight to get the antidote, but it seemed like months had passed before they finally got out. How did the lady kill elder Yue accidentally, what happened between them? Why did Gong Shang always call Zuyi her brother when they weren't related by blood, she was even crying at his father's funeral in the beginning as if it was her father, and then in the middle it turned out they weren't siblings at all. And his brother suddenly had different parents who died? Which family were they from?
Just a speculation but .................. what if.................... Yun Weishan is a Lang who lost her memory…
Makes sense, considering her skills in literally everything, it doesn't make sense that she was a mere Chi. Then there's this scene where Shang mocks her for being a Chi and she doesn't really respond but it seems like she's hiding something.
What’s your take so far? I wanna watch but it looks dark.
Give it a try, the story is really good and you fall in love with all the characters eventually. While the some characters stories in the end seemed rushed, it's a fantastic drama overall. Both Zhao Lusi and Leo Wu were amazing, and have really good chemistry.
I loved this show. Really wasn't expecting this level of somber acting from Esther Yu, she usually acts so cutesy and childish, this was a powerful performance based on her other shows. I loved her in LBFD too, but this was a serious character and she did so well. All the main leads were amazing, but Tian Jia and Jolin were really the highlight besides the main leads, loved each scene they were in. If you're on the fence about watching this, just go ahead and give it a try, the cinematography and music is really beautiful as well. Overall a visual treat.
No matter how many dramas I search for, I can't find any like this one
Yes! TLB isn’t just packed with a ton of different arcs and amazing storytelling, it also has incredible world-building. I love how even when new characters are introduced, it never feels forced, and they all find their place in the story with logical conclusions. The sets, costumes, and overall acting are so well done, and every character really shines. I loved LLTG too, and Leo & Zhao were amazing in it, but you’re right, without their main story, there wasn’t much else going on besides the mystery of who Leo was and what happened to him. TLB definitely has more to offer with its variety of story arcs and the way relationships between characters develop and grow over time. It’s just so layered and engaging!
I've seen the Turkish remake of this show 'Meryem'. It's really good, but it had 30 episodes so I guess the story was modified for a Turkish audience. Should I watch this original version?
She's amazing in Moving too. It's not that she's a bad actor. I guess the lack of chemistry between them and the story overall contributed to her being off in this role.
Only watch W if you need closure on the ending, or simply read a synopsis online. I found the last 3 episodes really spoiled the show overall. I don't understand the high rating.
While You Were Sleeping is a solid show. I think the only drama of LJS I've been unable to complete is I Hear Your Voice, but it's mostly because of the FL and not LJS.
It didn't make sense and the last few episodes kind of ruined the show for me.
To me, it felt like the writer didn’t know how to properly explain who the killer was or what their motive was. The last two or three episodes, where the worlds were overlapping, were chaotic, and the sudden time jump was honestly annoying. The show had so much potential, but it fell short. It took me a year to finish it because, after the first few episodes, I put it on hold, it just got a bit boring.
How did he unlock time travel with the half broken flute? I guess that yoyo flute spirit helped.
They never explained, and I'm actually fine with the time travel tbh because it makes sense considering how the story starts. What's annoying and confusing is the infinite universes... just seemed like lazy writing.
Aaaahhh... This show had so much potential. It's so frustrating how the story stopped making sense after the 6th or 7th episode, with too many plot holes and unresolved threads. I really like Lee Min Ho, and he's the only reason I stuck with it until the end. Once again, aaaaahhh...

Fingers crossed for season 2.
