It's badly edited and cut down I think. That time in the tower is supposed to be years.
Xianxia is my favourite genre! There's usually 1 great xianxia per year and it usually airs in July/August. You've missed out on 3 major xianxias:
• Ancient Love Poetry
• Eternal Love of Dream
•Love & Destiny
Try these!

Btw if you like xianxia, wuxia is a great genre too. Try:
• Legend of Fuyao
• Ever Night
• Princess Silver
• Joy of Life
• Sword Snow Stride
• The Flame's Daughter

I've watched the 30 aired episodes. Let's put it like this, it's not the best drama ever, however, it's watchable and I have nothing better to watch right now. I had a look at your watchlist and I can recommend some far better dramas from the last few years in a similar genre. Are you into this kind of genre? Fantasy, gods, mythological creatures? Or what are your fav themes?

Lol, right?! I’m like based off of what 🤔😅
The story had been progressing so slowly, honestly, they could have taken some unnecessary long scenes out and put more time elsewhere.

Because they've edited it badly. Personally I think they should have done it differently. Either lengthening the first part to make the progress and character development feel more gradual. Supposedly they were in that tower for years together?!
Or doing it like brief flashbacks from Su Mo's perspective while he is on his journey back.

Zhen Lan out here being the kindest second male lead ever. Zheng Yecheng (the actor for Zhen Lan) is my favorite…
So far, I have a sneaking suspicion his previous incarnation was not as kind as Zhen Lan...

Well, I got to ep. 27 but it's as far as I can go as even the story has stopped engaging me. Maybe once this finishes…
Actually, episode 28 has some big drama!

Hmm but I didn't find him so attractive.
Thank you for your explanation, but I don't see this interaction the same way as you... Debarti's dislike is her/their opinion, which we are all entitled to. You may find it unnecessary or stupid because you disagree, that's also your opinion. Neither is more or less valid. The only disrespect and offensive comments I'm seeing are directed at her/them, which I find unnecessary. Dislike is subjective. Like is also subjective. Dislike in itself is not disrespectful or offensive, unless you're a super fan who feels the need to enforce your own opinion on everyone else and find someone's dislike of what you love "offensive". You called her a "brat" just for saying that she, personally, doesn't like Ren Jia Lun and doesn't find him attractive. So...? Is there no actor or actress out there you don't find attractive or find overrated that everyone else adores? I can think of a few for myself and also people who I find attractive that others don't....

Am I missing something? In what way did Debarti express their dislike of Ren Jia Lun "disrespectfully" or "offensively"? 🤔

To be honest, for me, I understand why Su Mo reacted that way. To hear this from the person he hates the most,…
I can see that.... Totally unreasonable and determined to be offended rather than try to resolve something.

Sigh... instead of just casting blame, maybe consider reflecting on what reaction your manner of communicating has on others and why they end up responding to you as I have... I think I illustrated in several examples why you provoked this reaction in me. Enough of this unnecessary drama.
Goodbye.

You say you're not defensive but that reply in itself proves the opposite... 🤷‍♀️ Because you jumped to defend yourself and tell me to chill right back like it was some kind of insult after just reading the first line of what I wrote. That's the very definition of defensive mate.

What I was trying to convey to you was that I wasn't trying to fight you or something. You said "I choose to stick to my opinion no matter what others say or think". That comes across as defensive and prickly, as if I'm attacking you when I'm not.

"I guess I made it clear that she was UNINTENTIONALLY shrewd and selfish" This also comes across as if you're irritated as if I haven't understood you, when I simply have a different perspective and don't agree...

Anyway, whatever, just wanted to explain if it wasn't clear. Have a good day.

Watched episodes 25-28 with subs.Su Mo and Yu Huan fire fight - worst CGI and editing in this drama so far, very…
I'm confused about the mermaid gir though. Why do none of the Jiuyi Shan mermaids have the red mark thing on their foreheads? 🧐

u have to wait for better subs, the ones that are out are just machine translated, the ones subbed on viki are…
Yeah, that's a constant error in the Viki subs. Maybe the person writing them has misunderstood the meaning of "decade"?

I also think his reaction was valid. Who wouldn't be shocked by that kind of information? I personally think Bai Ying was preparing to tell him when they left Jiuyi Shan, she had already said she had something big to tell him, but they were in the middle of a crisis, it wasn't the best timing for a heavy conversation like that. I also think she was scared to tell him and didn't know how... I suspect they will discuss it in the next episode...!

You're coming across as a bit defensive, we're just exchanging thoughts and perspectives, not arguing (or at least that's not my intention)... Chill.✌

I'm confused why you said "Btw didn't I already mention that Su Mo will cool down later?" I never said you didn't... 🤔 I mentioned it in context of what I was saying... After all, he cools down pretty much right away after he storms off and has a chance to sit down and reflect. Btw, I am not comparing Su Mo to other C drama MLs, (I've also been watching C dramas and wuxia for years), I'm just comparing it to his prior behaviour, that's why I said it was out of character and why I think the sword may have influenced him like it did in the cave when he first picked it up on top of the genuine shock that his one true love is going to die and she hadn't told him, of course... But we'll have to wait and see how that story progresses...! 🙂

Btw, I understood what you said but I don't really think one can be unintentionally shrewd or selfish. I don't see her that way, but whatever, each to their own...! It's all good. ✌

Anyway, hope you enjoy the rest of the drama!

To be honest, for me, I understand why Su Mo reacted that way. To hear this from the person he hates the most,…
Frankly, I think at this point in the drama Bai Ying is giving in, she wants to have both her love and to fulfill her duty, but she knows once she fulfills her duty she will die... That's a lot to get your head around. I think she has long been prepared to be the sacrificial lamb to pay for what she perceives as her guilt in the role of the fall of Kongsang. Su Mo showing up has got her messed up and confused. She was just taking some time to unravel it all. I'm willing to be patient with her on this one... I think she is one of those who keeps everything to herself and Su Mo is the same, so if they want to be together they both have to overcome that character trait and start to think as a pair, but they haven't made that commitment yet....

Regarding Prince of Qing's attempt to separate them, Bai Ying had already told Su Mo she had something big to tell him when they left Jiuyi. So, I think she was going to tell him. After all, confessing your love and also that you are going to die is big news, not suitable for a discussion in the middle of a crisis.

He also kept secrets from her and frankly, that dark power of his could easily turn on him and turn him into the villain at some point soon. So... I kind of think they are the same. I don't think she has been deceptive, she just doesn't know how to tell him, doesn't want to hurt him or worry him (same reasoning he has for deceiving her).

His reaction to the news about Bai Ying was extremely out of character. In the past, no matter what happened he was cool and poker faced. I think the murderous energy of the sword might be affecting him, as he keeps having flashbacks from the sword of Bai Wei being stabbed, but also it was a shock coming from Prince of Qing all of a sudden like that. They will eventually, I hope, find a solution that allows them to fulfill their duty and get their love. Or it will end in sacrifice... who knows...

Regarding the alliance.... Bai Ying had not promised Su Mo anything romantic, and his dealings were largely with Zhen Lan. After all, they need each other to undo each other's seals. However, there is a possibility that Su Mo will now hesitate because he doesn't want Bai Ying to die for Wuse City. However, I think Zhen Lan doesn't want this either and he just found out too, so they may cooperate and try to find a solution together. But I don't think Bai Ying is selfish or shrewd at all, I think she is extremely generous and selfless. He was never used (that was just Prince of Qing's attempt to sow discord). It was all fair trade. When he cooled down, he also remembered Bai Ying saying certain things when she was drunk that gave her secret away.
