I am currently on episode 12 and I really am trying to give this drama a chance and get into it as I know with…
Who is doing the attacking here...?
Let me be clear: You're entitled to your view on these two dramas, but I don't agree. I am also entitled to that view. I like "The Autumn Ballad", I'm enjoying it, but I just don't think it is nearly of the same standard as Minglan. That's my opinion. You don't agree, that's fine, I don't care... What I do care about is that you seem to think you have the right to muzzle other members and tell them to go away. This is a PUBLIC forum to discuss dramas. Discussion involves different points of view. Deal with it. Either ignore it and only reply to comments you agree with, or learn the great life skill "to agree to disagree" in order to have civilised debates. Accusing those you disagree with of being fake or saying their views are redundant and that you're sick of them and they should go away is rude. Please be more courteous to your fellow members in the future.
We have 61 eps but our CP fall in love with each in the very first ep and manage to sleep together. I don't find…
I loved The Rebel Princess too! I think these biographical dramas tend to be flops because they can't decide whether they are a drama or a documentary.
lmao WHAT. I’m trying to finish Maiden Holmes right now and the acting and characterisation are terrible compared…
It's funny because I thought your description of Maiden Holmes was a perfect description of this drama. Don't get me wrong, I like TAB, but imo she's a cookie cutter, baby talk C drama "cute/strong FL".

Honestly, comparing this drama to Story of Minglan is an insult to Minglan, which is a work of art. There are some similarities in the story, for sure, but trying to compare these two dramas is like comparing a Michelin star restaurant to a fast food restaurant. Both are enjoyable but in very different ways lol.
I stayed and wasn't disappointed at all with the ending because the entire drama was just so sloppily produced…
Agree. Actually, I felt it was, by MDL standards, a 7.5 until the last few episodes where it managed to get even worse! What a mess. Sloppy, lazy storytelling, mediocre performances (no doubt because of the director's poor taste), terrible writing, both plot progression and script.. 2D characters...Just a massive MEH.
Half the time i was lost trying to piece everything together, trying to figure out facial expressions and emotions.…
The storytelling is really lazy and the editing doesn't help.... Su Nuo was Su Mo's twin, so I think somehow the legacy/power had been divided between the two of them and he needed Su Nuo's energy to inherit the Dragon Power, so when he died, Su Mo absorbed his twin essentially.
They never explain in the drama what happened to Su Nuo exactly. Su Mo thought he was dead, but he must have been taken in by Zhi Zhe and fed a lot of false hatred.
And yes, the ring thing is a plot hole. There are lots of those....
Arguably it declines from the beginning lol, the prologue is not great. It picks up briefly and shows a bit of promise after the prologue but somehow loses steam alomg the way.
I had nothing better to watch. It was bearable, more or less, a couple of episodes at a time. I wouldn't have wanted to binge it,I think I would have dropped it then.
I wouldn't say they dont have chemistry, because at times I do see their chemistry but also at certain times (maybe…
Attractiveness and perception of age is relative to your own age and what your "type" is. I wasn't that into Li Yifeng in the beginning but he grew on me during the course of the drama...!
I didn’t start this one yet but I caught a glimpse of random episodes and would like to complain from what I…
I actuallý disagree with this. I am no particular fan of any of the actors but I think Li Yifeng's performance was the best of them all. His character was the most complex and the most 3 dimensional. I felt the performance of his character was kind of representative of the phrase "Still waters run deep", in other words, even though he often looked calm on the outside, you could see a lot of undercurrents of emotion.
The other actors could have done better, I'm sure, if they were given better direction and better writing to work with... But overall, I have to say, this is a disappointing drama.
What on earth.... What an utter mess of a drama. All that buildup to the confrontation with Zhi Zhe, and he's gone just like that, and Yu Huan's rebellion was a 10 second flashback killing all those big characters in half a second. Endless scenes devoted to Shi Peng and all we get is a half second flashback of him being killed?! What on EARTH did I just watch? This has to be the worst edited drama I have ever seen. Absolute rubbish. A good story ruined by all round bad execution.
C drama sound editing is often really bad... Some dramas even have patches of no sound, or a random song playing when people are talking but no voices at all, or switching between dubbing and original voices, or alternating volumes of OST to voices where the soundtrack is too loud to hear the voices or the volume keeps changing from too soft to too loud... lol Nothing shocks me anymore. 😂
the one and only reason i watch this is for LiYi Feng
I agree, not because I'm a particular fan of his, but because I think his performance is the strongest of the bunch. He has given his character a lot of layers, the rest are fairly two dimensional. When I look at Su Mo, I'm reminded of the phrase "Still waters run deep." He has this very serene exterior but there's so much going on under the surface.
