I am currently on episode 13 and it is so heavy. Take the heaviness of Goblin and times it by 10. This definitely…
Yeah some are comparing it to Goblin, but Goblin was far more light and comedy focused. There are a couple of similarities, but they are very different dramas imo. The vibe is totally different. But I personally think this drama is much better than Goblin, a different league of drama somehow.

I just finished and I loved this drama from episode 1. It has a mystery that keeps unravelling and is full of complicated relationships, complicated feelings and people, and an intricate web of interactions between past and present connecting them all. Wonderful. A beautiful depiction of karma and reincarnation. A great mix of genres, historical and modern, crime/detective work, revenge, romance, fantasy, horror, comedy, this drama really has a bit of everything! So rare to get an Asian drama which isn't predictable. In my opinion, this drama is flawless, except perhaps that they should have put a red dress in the modern FL's wardrobe because she looked stunning in red.
Then do us all a favor please, take your negativity and go watch a drama with the type of FL lead you like. Leave…
Hey! Not cool. Be nice to your fellow MDL members! You don't get to tell someone to go away just for expressing a view that you don't agree with. Do us all a favour and start interacting more politely with your fellow drama fans.
i'm still debating whether i want to watch it or now, the drama clips keep on popping up on my youtube channel…
Let's see how the final episodes play out... The majority of the drama is great, I'm a bit suspicious that the final episodes will take a turn for the worse...
Really don’t understand how the rating got so fixked up for this masterpiece in MDL. Solid 10 from me even with…
Well, ratings are an average based on lots of people's scores. A drama that scores 8.5 on average here is usually a well received drama. Between 8.5 and 9 is extremely rare, reserved for the top 10 dramas of all time lol. Anyway... most people don't rate dramas until they've completed it, The Autumn Ballad hasn't finished airing and then you have to give it a few days for people to catch up. I won't rate until I've finished it for sure. For me this drama will probably be an 8.5, unless the final episodes are massacred by poor directing choices and bad editing (unfortunately common in C dramas).
I was really enjoying this drama up until episode 27 and now I feel hesitant to watch the rest because I feel like it might be another one of these last minute C drama massacres where the majority of the drama is great, receiving positive reviews and suddenly takes a turn for the worse in the last few episodes as if another team took over, becomes an absolute mess and ruins viewers' opinion of the rest of the drama....
What are your top 5 or top 10? I agree. This drama was a masterpiece. The festival scene with the singer on the…
That's cool. Royal Nirvana was great but good lord that was a lot of angst, the ML must have had to hydrate well to produce all those tears lol. Tribes and Empires was also awesome, but I wonder whether they could have done it in parts each devoted to one of the MLs to make it more succinct. So many episodes and still didn't manage to finish it lol, and of course, it will never get a second season. Tragic but typical.
First there is the funeral scene and then suddenly they are in a dark alley being hunted by arrows???? WHAT?!
Frankly, even that would not have been enough for me since that girl from the earlier episodes was suddenly there... Oh man... They really lost points for me in that transition alone. Badly done.
E26: wait, so is Qiu Yan Liang Yi's concubine for real now? Like she's actually married to him now?
Yeah, but I don't think the writers want their heroine to settle for concubine status or to be living under a false identity. So I suspect they'll end up getting properly married so she can be the official wife.
Story Arcs can be so painful! I'm actually not surprised by QY's decision because it stays true to her character.…
I think the plot arc may be to free her from her false identity and concubine status. A final storm before the happy ending. Unless the writers have totally lost their minds, they'll probably end up bringing them back together later under her real identity as an official wife so they can have a wedding scene.

Seriously, I don't have many criticisms when it comes to how this drama was put together (the flow of the scenes etc) but that transition totally threw me. I was like whaaaat? What did I miss? Such a messy cut! If they were cutting to reduce the length of the show, they could have cut that super long flashback scene not long after...!
Trauma does weird things to people, affects everyone differently...
Yup... This happens sometimes unfortunately... Thus the cycle of abuse continues. People process it differently. For example, you often find that abusers were abused themselves (e.g. child abuse/domestic abuse etc). Disturbing but true. Untreated trauma can really mess someone up.
