I could reverse what you just said: "Stop praising Na Sheng, stop giving so much love to such an absurd character." BUT... I won't, because you're just as entitled to adore her character as someone else is to dislike her character. It's... a fictional character.
The real issue here is your intolerance for other people's points of view and seeing THEM as the problem rather than your own intolerence for opinion variety.
I like Li Yifeng, but I wonder if he can even act? Don't get me wrong, I really like Sparrow, I've watched all…
I haven't seen his other dramas, but I do know that one big problem actors face is being typecast (only offered the same type of role, and directors insisting that they redo what they did well in a previous performance). That's often why they are perceived to be doing the same type of character over and over. It may be that that's the best they can do, or... that it's the only thing they are allowed to do.
According to a source from a commenter below, it has passed its second censorship trial and has received its license…
If the member below's information is accurate, this drama has already received its license to air, so it is not like Zhao Ge. This drama is just waiting for a slot in the airing schedule.
She's definitely one of the worst characters ever written.
I know...! The whole thing of "haters". So extreme! There are a few below going on about that, and I thought to myself, If I look through both of these two members' watchlist ratings I'm sure I'll find one drama which one loved and the other hated, and lo and behold, I did. One rated Ashes of Love a 10 and the other a 1. I didn't go ahead and point this out to them because I thought it was more trouble than it was worth, but it gave me a laugh nevertheless.
I wanted to be like. SO.... Member X, you gave Ashes of Love a 10, but Member Y gave it a 1, is Member Y a "hater" or not? Discuss.

It's funny because on another drama there was one of these types and a few members who criticised the acting style of this actress were ganged up on by the" pro dumb=cute brigade" and called their criticism misogynist. I was like, I don't think you guys understand that word and secondly, I'd argue that this "type" that features so often in C dramas is the real misogynism. More and more "actresses" who can't act but are pretty get roles... Sometimes my jaw drops at how bad their acting is and yet their fanbase is huge. Mental.
It seems to me that there is one great xianxia every year and it's usually released in July/August. Anyone know what the next great upcoming xianxia is next summer?
She's definitely one of the worst characters ever written.
Whiny, ridiculous, stupid, childish, offensive to women's intelligence, potentially intellectually disabled, painfully silly, stupid=cute character, anime schoolgirl fetish, designed to make the male lead look smarter/better, symptomatic of China's patriarchal fear of mature, capable women, making women everywhere think they have to be dumb to be cute, messed up ideas of femininity...
Something along these lines? Hard to choose... πππ
She dont have to end with the 2ML if her heart can only love the ML, this is not about who wins the girl for the…
Same. We'll see. I think sad endings are unpopular nowadays, a lot of people will give a bad rating if the drama has a sad ending. This may influence those making the drama. Personally, I don't mind a sad ending in principle, but it can be pretty heart breaking after a 40-50 episode drama. Somehow it's not as bad with a film that's only 2~ hours. With dramas you just get so invested.
She's definitely one of the worst characters ever written.
Actually, I think that would be especially helpful! But the fans of that "type" would probably be offended. π Also, not many C dramas would escape unscathed. One can only hope they don't get too much screentime.
There's a definite mermaid theme going on right now... Novoland Pearl Eclipse, Mirror Twin Cities and now this…
Me neither. I've noticed this in past years too that there is often a theme that is the same in lots of dramas that air the same year. One year, practically every historical drama was set in the Tang Dynasty, another year it was all Qin Dynasty. I just find it amusing.
