It looks like the screenwriter's previous works also have issues as well. In her last drama, people were pissed…
Well, in my experience, younger Chinese actors (18-21/22) don't usually do kissing scenes. This was filmed in 2019 apparently, so Song Zu'er was 20, which is considered young by Chinese standards. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they held back on that front because of Ethan Yuan's age...
I am in ep33 now. I still don't understand what Elise did to Oliver to make him suffer now. If u know, please…
How did you miss it? 😂 That's what half of the drama has been about. I've watched up to episode 31. So here are the major things that have happened so far:
1) She poisoned him for 3 years by personally adding a neurotoxin to his aromatherapy oil that not only took away his sense of taste but could have killed him by destroying his nervous system. Kesong tried it and was poisoned and also had an allergic reaction so they found out in time to give him the antidote, but only in time to save his life, not to give him back his sense of taste. All of this in part as revenge for him dumping her because he loved cooking and not her, and in part because she wanted him to be completely dependent on her in the hopes he would want to get back together with her. She paid Li Yan to break in and retrieve the evidence, but he got caught, so she did it herself while Kesong was in critical condition in hospital. Then Li Yan was manhunted and continually blackmailed her for money to hide what he knew. When she couldn't add it to the oil anymore, she snuck it into his food and medicine...
2) When he was drunk and depressed about his disability, she made him sign a contract signing over his ownership of the restaurant to her and also tricked him into thinking they had been intimate by staying in his bed and wearing his PJs while he was unconscious.
3) She lied... a lot about everything and everyone in an attempt to sabotage Kesong and to get him and her back together...
As much as I enjoy this show and accept that celebrity chefs have egos the size of Russia, it's become patently…
I've only watched up to episode 31, but the comment section is making me seriously concerned that these villains will never see any consequences of their criminal actions!
Everything should have limits.... There are limits to what one can easily forgive and just let go of! What the antagonists on this show do is criminal, almost killing Kesong and maiming Qian Fan (and if it weren't for Kesong's hospital visit, he might have died too)!! These selfish narcissists should be receiving criminal consequences. If they atone that's good, but it's not enough. Poisoning, attempted murder, intent to harm, breaking and entering, blackmail, medical malpractice, bribery, theft, aiding and abetting, false imprisonment... It doesn't matter that Elise is a mess, she should be serving a few years in prison for sure, not to mention Boris. Junbin should be forbidden to practice medicine, sued and given a criminal charge for aiding and abetting in the harm of his patient.
Since Viki only uses non-paid fan subbers don't have a schedule, they do it in their free time. They have fewer…
I think you misunderstood me, I wasn't referring to the number of subbed episodes, I was referring to the number of episodes available. (I can manage without subs.) Viki only has 26 episodes available so far. 27 and 28 will be available today. Far more available on YouTube as JollyGolly mentioned.
Are the leads really together in real life? I've seen this posted a few places. I also read that this drama was…
Doubt it... Sometimes agencies use this ploy to promote a drama though. But fans tend to make things up about drama couples or gossip magazines make stuff up as clickbait, so you always get a lot of rumours around drama couples. By the time his next drama is out, it will be the same thing about the FL in there lol.
The first 5 episodes are a sort of prologue, but they're an editing mess. It does improve somewhat after episode…
Frankly, I think they should have expanded the first part because a lot of development was rushed there. For example, supposedly Bai Ying was in that tower for 3 years. Bai Ying is just sad all the time. All 3 of the main leads start all young and happy and suddenly they're different. For me the transition was too abrupt. It felt disjointed.
It's ok, I have already seen it, but some people get cranky about spoilers not being covered so just wanted to let you know how to do it if you didn't know how. I had the same thing when I first joined.
Me too… looks like the past luv triangle is passed on to the present generation… i wonder if in the novel…
Tbh Bai Ying has loved Su Mo since before he even met her and they met in those circumstances, so I'm inclined to think that he will be more sad but accepting... But who knows in dramaland?!
I don't think it was ever explained in the drama, or maybe I might have missed that part? But at the beginning,…
It's poorly explained. Merpeople are supposed to be born genderless, and they then transform into one gender when they fall in love. I think the mark is symbolic of that. However, in the early episodes, Su Mo goes into a transformation pool that is supposedly used by those bad people to force merpeople to transform which is painful. Su Mo went into the transformation pool in order to find that magic pearl, but didn't change, because he has the dragon mark as he is the Sea Emperor's heir.
But yes, Su Mo and Bai Ying both love each other and can love no other. Him breaking her seal in the beginning had the same effect. It was supposed to be broken by Zhen Lan, but fate and Prince of Qing had other plans ..
