Oh? That's interesting. I think it's good to mix it up a bit! A lot of C drama episodes are divided so randomly they just feel like a cut up film. SSS episodes do feel more like chapters which makes it more tolerable to wait too...

I think a few things lay at the source of this issue when I think about it. 1. Insufficient labour protection laws. 2. An obsession with "image" and perceived virtue. 3. Excessive power given to public opinion. 4. Normalising fan culture even when it borders on obsession (e.g. anti-fans).

Woah, that should be illegal... In general, I have to say that the lack of boundaries between an actor's professional and personal lives is really disturbing. I also think the practice of agencies banning dating and the like also crosses a line and should be illegal.
When you're in the public eye, there will inevitably be some interest in your personal life, but there must be boundaries... It's like when an actor has some personal life drama and it ruins their career, that's just unbelievable. Unless they've committed a crime, it's no one else's business.
I have to say I really liked the schedule of one episode a day though... I preferred it to when they air several two or three days a week. At least with this schedule, you don't have to wait for days for a continuation. lol Got my daily SSS fix 😂
I've caught Sword Snow Stride Syndrome... (Extreme paranoia lol) This is one of the really cool things about this show, that you can't look face value at the characters' motives, you have to go two or three steps deeper and think about all the different things each action would accomplish. Sometimes their action has the least obvious motive.. The seemingly secret motive of their action is not their true intention but a ploy in itself... (Messes with your head lol)
Look at the whole letter from the Prime Minister to Chen Zhi Bao as an example. So, he writes to get CZB to lead the troops to Shu... But... Xu Xiao/the Chess Master thinks that the PM's true intention is as simple as letting Xu Xiao know that CZB has received that letter, the contents don't even matter. But Chen Zhi Bao is an interesting character too because we don't yet know how loyal he truly is. Did he not go to greet Xu Xiao when he came back because of disloyalty, or did he also do it for the PM to see? He ripped up the letter, why did he do that? Because he didn't want anyone to read it or because he was irritated by the PM's attempt to make him disloyal....
CZB seems like he might be a villain, but maybe that's what he or Xu Xiao wants us to see... My biggest fear for Xu Xiao comes from XFN's conment that he fears XX getting old (maybe he means losing his better judgement). I wouldn't be surprised if CZB stabs XX in the back. But... I would also not be surprised if he stabbed XX in the back because XX told him to.... MY BRAIN OMG.
My theory is that Zhao Kai doesn't realise he is a pawn, he thinks he's a player. In a duel between XFN and Zhao…
He's also quite naive... Like with Li Chun Gang when he asks him to betray XFN.
Maybe XFN saving him or maybe the conversation they have later about why XFN saves him (most likely upcoming) will be a wakeup call before he goes too far down this path and he will switch sides. XFN does have a tendency of accidentally enlightening people...

I'm not sure how the two would have measured up because neither Zhao Kai nor XFN have shown the extent of their power yet...
I think Zhao Kai is suffering from manipulation by people with bad intentions taking advantage of his abandoned son complex. He's majorly suffering from a narcissistic inferiority complex... (Or a Xin Mo as the Chinese poetically call it!) 😆
Plus, the fact that he thinks he would be able to be with XFN's 2nd Sister after killing XFN shows the extent of his delusion... 🙄
