missed her, Zhiyang and Hongri for entire drama, "everyone" came back but her :/
I missed Zhiyang too, but it was quite moving when they found him after reopening the Realm of the Gods. I think this drama needed another episode as an epilogue to wrap things up with Baijue, Shanggu and Yuanqi spending time as a family, more interactions with the old God characters like Hongri and Zhiyang. And... if I was in charge, a reincarnated young Yuemi who comes up to the God realm as an apprentice or something like with Gujun.
Lol, she never went out for the past 20 years. So, innocent + naive must be on her dictionary, she needs time…
Just wait for the Cheng Xiao fan club to attack... 🙄 They are the very picture of blind (superficial) loyalty. When will a requirement for actors in China be actual acting skill, not just good looks? Anyway, there are plenty of actors who have both... Just saying!

Also, Jinmi was dumb in a totally hilarious and quirky way, especially cause she was so mischievous, and her lack of ability to understand meant that she made assumptions about things that were totally bizarre, which made it funny. Dumb characters can be funny if done well (for comedic effect). . I'd say she is the only FL character where I actually enjoyed the dumb act.
Female lead worse than wood. She is like dead rock . No expression in her face. she is worst actress i ever seen…
Already saw that in Falling into your smile. Xu Kai had to do all the heavy lifting there, she was totally blank the whole time. The problem is that too many viewers and too many drama producers can't tell the difference, or don't care, between a pretty face and actual acting ability. I was just about to ask whether her acting had improved at all... Apparently not.
thank god I came to here before I got trapped in 40 episodes lol
That being said, I've also watched some dramas that I thought were extraordinary that a lot of people disliked (and the comment section was abysmal)! Sometimes it is a question of taste, but in this case, I don't think so....
You are one of the smart few. I made the mistake and now I regret it.
Hahaha, I've been there! The clips on YouTube made it seem like a light but watchable drama, but from the sounds of it, it starts off well and then just gets worse and worse.
That depends on your taste. It's not an excellent drama, but it has some really excellent and unique aspects to it. It's quite quirky/eccentric at times, which I think makes it very unique, but it also has some K drama/idol drama cliches, which takes away from the overall artistic quality. Also, the plot is a bit all over the place. I think if you like mythology and like the idea of mythological characters set in the future, trying to find their place in the modern world, I think that makes this drama interesting. I don't know if you know Neil Gaiman, the fantasy writer, but some aspects of this drama are quite similar to his works, kind of eccentric characters. If you decide to watch it, be aware it has good bits and less good bits.
I haven't finished it yet but I can see already the good and the bad of this drama. As I see it, this drama fails in some ways and is totally successful in others. I love how they've brought so many of these mythical characters to life in the modern world, it's quite quirky at times like the green juice lady or the Snail Bride who owns a restaurant. It's a bit Neil Gaiman, which I love. If only they had avoided the K drama/idol drama cliches and changed the layout of the plot... For starters, I think it would have been more interesting to start off in the past and staying there for a few episodes as a prologue before jumping to the future. I think there is too much dependence on flashbacks and it weakens the plot. I laughed when Lee Rang disguises as Lee Yeon and goes to the Afterlife bureau and the Boss there asks him what he thinks of her and he praises her and she's like "INCORRECT. When I asked Lee Yeon this, he said 'I hope you get rheumatism.'" Hahahahha! Such a dry sense of humour, I love it. If this drama had been tweaked a bit in some ways I think it could have been excellent.
Came back my point of view change romance was weird especially showing little kid being interested in him eww…
To be fair, children do sometimes have "crushes" on adults, although it's not like an adult crush, more like adoration... I remember having a few of those when I was a kid too! It's totally normal. He also didn't do anything inappropriate, he just looked after her and taught her things, I mean he told her to go away a lot lol she was the one who pestered him. Nothing gross or inappropriate there. :-) It only turned into something else when she was older and she was the one who pursued him...
Can I wait a month or do I lack the willpower? Lol
