Just watched the first few episodes. It has a similar authentic look to Story of Minglan, which is quite rare in C dramas. Looking forward to the rest!
Just watched the first episode! Beautiful visuals and sets! Great CGI. I'm going to be patient and wait for it to finish airing before I watch it. I don't like the breaks between episodes.

Delightful gem? More like a piece of gravel in a sea of gravel. Forgettable and utterly mediocre. Massive disappointment. I trusted the glowing reviews of this drama and decided to give it a shot... Unless you really have nothing better to do, (like reorganising your sock draw), best give this one a miss.
I really don't get the hype around this drama. Chu Chu is an absolute retard except for the few lines describing her findings, which feels forced. So disappointing. She is like an airhead acting like she knows things. Big empty puppy eyes is her only expression, blank and vacuous. So unconvincing. When will this retard/child so-called "smart" FL type finally die and allow genuinely smart FLs to step up and impress? Plus, she is hardly a main character, more like a side character whose main purpose is to make the ML look good by being so bad herself.
I will power through to the end, but I am so bored....

I didn't get that impression. My impression was that it was an immensely complex and subtle drama that you had to pay 100% attention to or you'll miss an important detail that might make those "what the hell" moments make more sense... I might rewatch it soon.

Tbh, I think it is a stylistic issue. The biggest issue us with the female characters. This whole baby voice, silly girl thing is getting SO old. I have seen actresses do a great job on a rare high quality drama like this one who then does the little girl bimbo act in another. This tells me it is the director, not the actor.
The biggest issue I see with this is sexualising/romanticising the little girl act, but at the same time it is like a fear of "mature" adult women.
