Goodbye my princess has devastating ending. This drama has a lot of ups and downs, and some real tragedy, but it all works out in the end. The plot has a LOT of twists. Even the twists have twists. You could say it is a bittersweet ending. I would recommend watching this nevertheless. The acting is fantastic. It is one of my favourites...! I have rewatched it several times. The ending isn't nearly as great as the journey to get there, so don't worry too much about the ending. If you like historical/wuxia/palace dramas, you'll like this. This drama is definitely underrated. I would personally say it is a strong 8.5.
Strange... the FL lead disappeared in the second episode. Keep watching?
To anyone who is confused about this. The Princess in the first episode changes her appearance to her dead maid in order to not be recognised after the attack on the Li Kingdom. This becomes kind of an identity clash issue for her. She struggles with who she is now versus who she was before.
I just finished it. I gave it an 8, but some parts are definitely 7.5. Consider it a filler drama. It is enjoyable…
It isn't a bad drama, it just isn't as good as it could be. It also depends on your standards. For the xianxia genre, this is a far throw from the 3 worlds dramas, but it's also better than a lot of silly C dramas that are produced en masse every year in China.

100%! So painful to watch that halfway through I thought I would die of boredom or the cringe. And yet, people love it, I can't understand why... It's so incredibly bad.
I haven't seen William Chan in a drama before, but from the looks of things, his dramas tend to be 7.5s, I really hope Yang Mi can create another 10 Miles of Peach Blossom / Legend of Fuyao hit with this drama...
