I waited for this drama to finish airing before I started, and I've just watched up to episode 39 on WeTV when I discover that episode 40 is only available on express... Come on! This whole only getting episodes on "express" is wrong for people who are already paying a monthly subscription! Grrr! Now I have to wait for the final episode argh.

Wow, 7.6??? This is a spectacular historical drama. Talk about underrated.

If you want a really high quality production, try Story of Minglan. It's one of the best C dramas ever made.

Still in the first part of the drama, but despite my love of Zhang Wanyi... I adore Ci Sha. Even though he's supposedly the villain, I don't care. 🤣 Time for Ci Sha to get a romantic lead role imo!

I'm quite enjoying this now! Parts of it have basically been copypasted from Story of Minglan including the BGM, but I love this kind of story. Anyone who hasn't watched Story of Minglan yet, I recommend it 💯

It's a mixed bag! It has some really good bits, some less good bits. Let's say, it's an eccentric story about damaged people with their own traumas.

Tragically, I think he's been cancelled. He had so much potential.... He was scandal central in the last year and the Chinese don't approve of things like that. They discovered he was divorced, then someone came out and said he had been in a same sex relationship with him and then he was caught by papparazzi through a window having an intimate encounter with someone.

Maybe there is hope for a comeback when C netz forget about these scandals. Maybe not.

We all have our own perspective and preferences. It's all good. 😊 I thought Esther Yu's voice in My Journey to You was gorgeous since she hadn't played a role like that before and her line delivery was spot on, but when she plays cute roles, it can be a bit much for my liking. I am also not wild about Zhao Lusi, but I have watched most of her dramas and there are a couple of real gems like Love like the Galaxy.

As with all things, it comes down to perspective! I hope I get used to it soon!

So in other words, very obviously a case of hidden identity.

I just started this, but Ren Min's acting is really unconvincing so far, and her voice is unpleasant to listen to, high pitched, whiny and her lines are so flat. I've never had such a reaction to a FLs voice before and wished they'd have dubbed her!
I hope I get used to it because I love this kind of drama...
