Yes, I 100% agree that this drama is getting unnecessary hate. While I am not entirely sure about everything that’s…
I haven't seen any haters here. Not everyone likes the same stuff. I wrote a long explanation of my issues with it below. I've watched hundreds of C dramas now, and I'm always hoping for a drama that will blow me away, but this one had real potential but sadly didn't hit the spot for me. With some tweaks, this drama would have been so much better.

Seems like haters are discontent with the success of this drama and are still hard at work trying to bring it…
I don't think it's haters at all, I think it's largely the ending and people have some complaints about the drama not living up to expectations.

I thought it was a good drama, but it's a shame it could have been so much better with a few tweaks here and there.

why is the rating get low day by day. for HMH after Young Babylon this drama is under 8
Because more and more people are finishing it and then giving their rating. Others like me wait until the drama has finished airing before starting it. I honestly think the ending is what is playing a big role here. People are unsatisfied. There's another drama I really like that is really fantastic until the final episode where it is like someone put drugs in the production crew's water and they all collectively lost their minds. Sadly, this had a huge effect on the drama rating, and it's a shame because the rest of the drama was fabulous. But an unsatisfying or weird ending can taint your impression of a drama leading to a drop in ratings...

With this drama, I think there were other issues as well. Parts weren't as refined as I would have liked, and didn't live up to my expectations.

Title The Unclouded Soul Spoiler
It doesn't matter if the main role died because his ending alwasys same , but at least you should keep three brothers…
Honestly, them coming back just to die right away was really pointless, just as a lazy plot device to force her to go back in time (a second time!)
She should have done the whole journey in one go. It was a mess.
Also, I would have preferred if Bingzhu and Pianpian were completely uninvolved in that ending. It was so anticlimactic, and then Tan'er comes back in his lover's body (weirrrddd) and he just drops what he was doing. Like whaaat?

it was really good until ep 33. i love the character development between xiao yao and hong ye. both have great…
I have the opposite opinion, I liked the final arc the best especially when she goes back in time right to the start of being the dragon. That's when things got really interesting for me and everything took such an unexpected turn. I really struggled through the first half. Especially during the Dreamshard arc.

Title The Unclouded Soul Spoiler
I just finished this drama last night, and I have a LOT of thoughts (spoilers below). Overall, this drama had…
So who is the real villain, if you ask me? The Goddess. She is the one who corrupts humanity with access to the Yuli Spring, a spring that turns out to be completely useless as a plot device. The same Goddess who created the power inequality between the races that led humans to be enslaved and trampled on, which caused the resentment and hatred.

In terms of the plot, there were some really interesting themes but were sadly overshadowed by poor storytelling, bad flow and a lack of interesting characters. Every xianxia needs some silly characters, but in this drama they made up the bulk of the permanent support cast. We frequently had mini stories with some kind of moral lesson where characters were introduced, given back stories and layers, and then gone by the next episode.

Although I liked Xiaoyao and Hong Ye and they were very sweet together, they were really lacking chemistry which made it really tame.
Xiaoyao dominates the plot, and as usual Tan Songyun ends up playing this Buddha like older sister type who always knows the advice to give or what to do to solve a difficult problem while all the other characters follow her. Being so perfect makes her character so boring.

Although the overarching theme of the drama is karma, cause and effect, and the final arc is very insightful and poetic, the way the story is told plot is very choppy and doesn’t flow well. I think they could have refined the storytelling much more to tie it all together better. There were also plot holes that were never resolved like when they introduced Xiaoyao, her blood had the ability to revive Hongye. Did I miss something or why? Then later, Hongye talks about how he felt during the time when he was supposedly dead. Major writing mistakes there! Or Xiaoyao's ability to attract demons with her blood is also never fully explained. It also is never explained what Xiaoyao's birth story really is... Or how Hongye placed that cherry blossom on Ning'an's neck so he would recognise her, but they seemed to forget about that. There were just a lot of inconsistencies.

The story of the Dreamshard Immortal could have been much better. Since they devoted so many episodes to this subplot, they could have given us a real backstory with Zhao Liying, not just an animation. Overall too many episodes were wasted on this chapter of Xiaoyao largely sitting around in a flower garden. The trials ended up being fairly pointless filler...

Although I think Wang Duo acted his role very well, I think the progress for the character was boring, and Pianpian only made it worse. And after all that, then Tan'er reappears in her body and he just stops what he was doing - talk about anticlimactic. I really think this character could have been written better and would have been more interesting if he interacted more with the other main ones.

Aa for the ending... What an unnecessary plot twist. How naive says the Goddess. So, he seals it inside of him and seals himself. And yet, realistically, once a myth like the Yuli Spring is out there, it's not going to go away, they will keep looking for it, always seeking the unattainable. In all those years, who actually successfully gathered up the Kunlun mirror shards? Only two people. And what changed the power dynamics between the humans and the demons was the magical power that the Goddess granted, not the Yuli Spring... Illogical.

As for relations between the demons and the humans, they wrap it up in a kind of "Oh and things starting getting better". But that also makes no sense considering how deep those prejudices go. Hong Ye's sacrifice is ultimately pointless. What's more, he alreadys spent 5000 years as the demon king atoning for his mistake in the past. As for Dragon Xiaoyao, she takes responsibility for something that really wasn't her fault. And frankly, Hongye also acted understandably considering how badly the humans were treated. His biggest mistake is betraying Xiaoyao's trust.

At several points during the drama, I think Hong Ye's character was left behind and it left a sort of vacuum in the plot. When he is kept as a slave of the Dreamshard Immortal, his character is immensely passive. But also in the going back in time arcs at the end, it would have been much more interesting if they were both sent back to experience the past life rather than just Xiaoyao. It was a missed opportunity for Hong Ye's character to process all his karma. For instance, how he was then tricked by the Human Emperor during his marriage to Ning'An. They could have tied this all together beautifully if his character had been more involved.

I just finished this drama last night, and I have a LOT of thoughts (spoilers below). Overall, this drama had some interesting themes, and the plot definitely did not move in the direction I expected with interesting plot twists in the second half. The OST had a couple of nice songs, but it was pretty generic.
The final arc is the most interesting and my opinion increased significantly during these episodes, but it nosedived into an illogical ending, and if you ask me, it is because the plot fails to identify the real villain of the story...

During the first couple of episodes, I thought oh wow, this drama is an underrated gem, but it quickly revealed to me why the rating was so average, and I think by MDL standards. 8.1-8.3 is a fair rating for this drama, with patches of the drama that are much stronger.

I thought this had a great premise, but the 2ML is so whiny and irritating, I stopped watching after the first episode. Let's see if I get the patience to pick it back up and give it another chance.

I'm currently watching the drama. On episode 19 now. Overall, an enjoyable drama. Some parts of this drama are done very well, others feel very copypaste, and there are more and more tangents...
The first few episodes were really gripping, but since then there have been a few arcs with lots of subplots and back stories. Although they have their own kind of wisdom, I felt it took the plot too far from the main leads where they become background characters or assistants to a subplot. I also am not fond of the flashbacks from their previous story. I would rather have started the story with that storyline, and then moved onto Xiaoyao. The other thing I have noticed is that some characters are really inconsistent, as though one episode they were written by one writer and the next by another. I've noticed this especially with Pian Pian and Bing Zhu. It feels very similar to the way Moonlight Mystique played out where the leads have to find pieces of something and every piece is associated with some kind of moral lesson. I think in some ways the writing and flow of the plot is lacking somehow. I don't like mini subplots which have a clear beginning and end, and then the plot moves on. There are lots of dramas that do this, but it really loses my attention.

In other dramas, I sometimes feel frustrated when there are too few characters, so much so that the plot landscape feels empty. This drama feels like it's gone a bit too far in the other direction where there are too many support characters and they distract from the story of the leads.

Let's see how this goes! I hope to see some interesting new developments in the second half!

Have you watched My Journey to You?
Ah well it's probably a question of taste... I thought she nailed that role. You could never really tell what the character was thinking and whether she was being sincere or manipulative, all behind this mask of doll like innocence. And her chemistry with Cheng Lei was electric.

In Love in the Clouds, I thought she was quite good but missed the mark in a few places when it came to portraying tragic scenes. She didn't bring out as much depth of pain as she could have at times.

Nevertheless, I look forward to seeing what she does in the future!

And seriously what was up with Jang Ki-yong fake smiling the whole time in this. I’ve never seen him act like…
I agree, I always think there is something insincere in his eyes, but it may just be what he looks like. I think he's good at comedy though.

This year, Kdrama romance has literally not been great. When you see that Genie Make A Wish, which is very good,…
Agreed. For me the lack of good comedy has been really missing this year. I thought Genie Make a Wish was also quite meh.

Wow review areeeee baaaaaad. Not watched it but planning to should I ?I like drama such as business proposal ,…
It's not bad, it's watchable, but it's a bit flat and it goes downhill towards the end. The first episodes are classic cinderella. Lots of cliches. Try it, see what you think.
