Mumu's mother was a demon in human form. I'm so uncomfortable and awkward watching last few episodes because of…
Are you forgetting his alcholism and the fact that he abandoned Mumu in China and wouldn't have even seen her if she didn't come to Thailand and he was too drunk to pick her up? Lol. Also, I think Jin Zhao spent most of his teens looking after him and carrying him home.
This drama had so much potential but it was so average and underwhelming. The writing was flat, the comedy was flat, the romance was meh. The two MLs acted very well, the FL was ok, but the 2FL was totally flat. I think the writer and director made a lot of poor choices that stopped this from being excellent. However, it all wrapped up well with a sweet ending.
Can we talk about how absolutely cold-hearted Mumu’s mother is? Even when they told her Jin Zhao had returned,…
Not to mention that total deadbeat drunk dad. I'm surprised they didn't go into that more. At least he never abandoned ZhaoZhao, but he did abandon MuMu.
Full disclosure: Yu Shuxin is not my cup of tea usually, because I can't stand the baby act she often does, but she acted her heart out in this drama, especially when her character matures. The scene where she meets him in the cafe after many years was so quietly intense... Fabulous acting on her part.
So, if you're like me, give this drama a chance. It is definitely one of my favourite modern dramas of 2025.
can someone explain to me how they're "related"? I'm on episode 3 and still haven't figured it out...
This is explained early on I think. He's adopted, he takes care of her when she's a little girl. He leaves with her dad when her parents divorce. She finds out he isn't her brother. Years go by, and she decides to go and find him.
According to Jin Zhao, Jiang Mu was very young at that time that she can't bear the truth of his situation. He…
That's his perspective for sure, and like I said above, it definitely comes from his childhood trauma. His intentions are in the right place, that's undeniable, he's a thoroughly good and honourable guy, but his biggest mistake is taking away her right to make her own choice by keeping her in the dark and cutting off all contact.
I made an account on this portal just to vent my growing frustration. More episodes ≠ a better drama. It should’ve…
Personally, I loved this development into adulthood tying together childhood, youth and maturity into this beautiful story. I am surprised by how deep and meaningful the story has become.
I think regardless of whether we agree with Jin Zhao's choices, I think he is an extremely realistic representation of a man with childhood trauma. The inability to be vulnerable and show his weaknesses, poor emotional communication skills, the mixed self esteem - confidence from being self reliant since childhood but very fragile self worth. He believes he has to prove himself to be worthy, so when he loses his health, his self belief vanishes and he thinks others, specifically Mumu, will be better off without him as a burden. What Jin Zhao fails to realise because of how his own issues colour his judgement is how important he is to Mumu, and how cutting her out of his life will break her. He primarily thinks he will carry the burden of her loss, and how willing he is to be a martyr fof his love, but he massively underestimates how heavy the loss of him is for her.
I am surprised by how much I am loving this. I properly cried my eyes out when they saw each other again. I haven't cried for a drama in ages. Waiting for tomorrow's episodes is torture!
The writing is a bit off. I don't think the body switch does much for the plot. I was thinking it might have been better if they put it right at the beginning before they got to know each other.
Both parents were bad in their own way.
So, if you're like me, give this drama a chance. It is definitely one of my favourite modern dramas of 2025.
