This drama has me howling with laughter. Going into my top 10 K dramas of all time.

I truly do not understand why this drama is so underrated. It's just so good all round!

True, but it can be hard to know which drama to watch. Sometimes the ratings are spot on and other times they are insanely off, either way too high or way too low. Often excellent dramas are downrated for really stupid or superficial reasons.

Yeah, saying it is a romcom totally messes with people's expectations. It's a melodrama through and through except for the odd amusing interaction between the leads.

The pace is a bit slow for my liking, but overall I really like this drama. I like the characters and morally ambiguous villains. Don't trust the rating. This is a good drama!

No, the Queen Dowager is his lover and well, more like his wife, who was taken from him forcibly by the previous king and they have a child together, I think the FL. The villains are very morally ambiguous... He is essentially a devoted lover who will do anything to save his lover and child. He sees his actions as unavoidable to protect them and carve out a future together. It all is just a big mess of star crossed lovers.

Yeah, definitely underrated imo. There are some fresh themes here! I like the Queen Dowager forbidden romance and secret child. I like how the "villains" aren't just evil but fighting for their love and family.

Something I always find annoying is when secondary couples reach more milestones than the lead.

Yes! Very convincingly portrayed character with some autistic traits. I really like her. She is childlike without being childish.

Also... I was just thinking what range this actress has! Night and day from her character in My Journey to You, which blew me away with her perfectly innocent facade but cunning inside. Wow, she was amazing in MJTY. She deserves a lead role. Very talented actress.

And the long wait for new episodes begins again... SIGH

I think so yes... But... They never confirm this in the drama, but he does sometimes answer her thoughts outloud. It's not totally clear whether her internal dialogue is for the viewer or our heavenly eavesdropper.

For the people starting this drama, adjust your expectations. This is a very slow burn romance, the main themes are about difficult families especially mother-daughter, poverty and personal development. I'm really enjoying it. Don't trust the rating.

I have a feeling this kind of mother-daughter relationship is all too familiar for many people out there... I wonder if this drama will be hard to watch in some households in China.
