Agreed. It was very formulaic, which I don't mind if it's done well. The writing could have been so much better considering the awesome cast.

Same but I hate dropping dramas when I've already got so far lol. I should have gone with my gut earlier on and done so. Could have been so much better.

I should have done the same but I really hate dropping dramas when I've already committed to a certain stage, especially since I know some dramas lag in the middle and then pick up again.

It's not that I dislike it, that's too strong, I just don't think it's that great. Anyway, that's just my personal opinion. If others are enjoying it that's great.

Isn't it just! I was just thinking that earlier because some dramas start really strong and then go downhill into a flop. Did you watch Weedding Impossible? For me that was one of those. The writing in the first few episodes was on fire and then suddenly it was like a different team took over and it got dry and boring. I skipped my way through the final 2 episodes because it was so slow and uninteresting.

Speaking of time travel, I finally got round to watching Twinkling Watermelon recently and was so pleasantly surprised because the theme really didn't appeal to me but gosh it was done so well. Except for a few excessively long school life scenes, it was so good!

Sorry but I really don't agree... I never expected it to be a romcom and for me most of the drama is predictable, two dimensional and the characters lack depth and that special something that keeps my interest. There were a few scenes that were well done, but overall for me this drama is a disappointment. It's near the end now so I will watch it to the end but personally, I wouldn't recommend it. It's watchable but there are better dramas out there imo.

Don't get me wrong, it's watchable but forgettable imo... It could have been so much better.
If you're looking for a good airing drama, I just started Lovely Runner and it is so good. I wept, howled with laughter and smiled from ear to ear. Really surprisingly good and delivers on several levels.

Agreed. I sincerely doubt this drama would be rated as highly were it not for Kim Soo Hyun. I also had some moments when I thought ok this was well done, but overall it's just really lacking. The villagers for me are the biggest disappointment. I was expecting comedy gold from them, but honestly they're all quite normal, and the portrayal of the rich as completely out of touch idiots went too far without being funny. The brother is a clown but he doesn't make me laugh. The writing is definitely off for me.

Honest but perhaps unpopular opinion (don't bite my head off). I think this drama is overrated because of its stars... There are some interesting and moving highlights but for me it doesn't go deep enough and the comedy fails to deliver to be considered a drama rated this highly. It's watchable but the characters are wooden and the story is cliched without even really doing the cliches well. Not the fault of the actors, they're all excellent, but the makers of this drama including the writers and director really could have done so much better... Instead they fell into the same old Chaebol sob story traps but didn't even do a particularly good job with them. It's not a bad drama, it's just not excellent... I'm really surprised it's so well received honestly. I don't get it.

This is one of the best C dramas of its genre ever made, so I would reconsider if I were you. It's a complex and beautiful drama about survival, trauma, healing, love, family and responsibility. It's not like any other C drama I have watched. There is a reason why so many of us still haven't gotten over part 1. It completely bewitched me... I have rewatched it so many times.

With this backlog of dramas waiting to air, I don't understand why they don't release a whole drama in one go Netflix style online especially if a drama has been waiting this long to air.

There has to be a line between fair criticism and bullying. I personally think her performance was really weak. But bullying and calling someone names is totally not ok. Report it to MDL so it can be taken down.
