After watching her in A Dream of Splendor, she and Jeremy would have excellent chemistry and I want it.
I am also planning to go and travel around China when I get a chance. I haven't explored much of Asia yet... I worked in Mongolia briefly some years ago and I've been to Bali for a holiday, but definitely have more exploring to do!

It's so wonderful isn't it? I honestly could benefit from going to live in that village myself! So much wisdom, compassion and healing in that drama... I miss the characters like old friends.
I also really liked Go Go Squid, but it's not a mature drama like Meet Yourself, but it has its own charm. I love when Li Xian goes to her home for a blind date with grandpa and Yang Zi comes down the stairs in her PJs and sees him and falls backwards. So relatable. 🤣
I guess they probably used the same composer to write the music for this drama?!?
Nah, it's the actual music. I listen to it regularly on Spotify lol. Smaller productions often steal bits of the original score of other dramas, but it is always really random and out of place.
If they were using authentic historical makeup, they'd be even paler. Women in ancient China wore a white foundation/powder…
Have you seen "The Longest Day in Chang'an"? It has the most authentic Tang dynasty costumes and make up I've ever seen in a C drama. Stunning production. I wish historical drama makers would pander less to modern tastes in favour of historical accuracy.
It's the real styling during song and tang dynasty. The stylist team really put a lot of effort for the female…
To add on to what you said, the beauty ideal during the Tang dynasty was very plump, voluptuous ladies, not these willowy fairies that we see on the screen.
Please why do the women look like ghosts?? What sort of makeup is this?
If they were using authentic historical makeup, they'd be even paler. Women in ancient China wore a white foundation/powder so they were as white as sheets.
Luo Qiu Yun needs to be upgraded to FL (the dancer/Gui Bai's love interest). She is so beautiful and a talented actress. First saw her as Yuemi in Ancient Love Poetry. There is something so soothing/serene about her and her voice as well.
Skip the last episode and it will be a happy ending. The last episode was so bizarre it is solely responsible…
This is what I keep saying! The drama itself is really great but that last episode somehow ruins it all. That's why I always advise people to skip it! Also, there's a perfectly good ending on the episode before.
It's complicated. He is married to one of the twins and they hate each other, and she is vicious. She curses him and jumps off the cliff. But the girl he fishes out of the water even though she looks identical to his wife is a completely different person, very kind and generous, so with time he softens and they grow closer. So, he treats her badly at first and then he changes.
Someone who read the novel, will Nie SangYu end up with Ning Xuyuan?
The novel is totally different so no one knows how it's going to play out. We don't know if NSY will reappear at some point or whether she died jumping off that cliff. Wait and see.
It seems to be a requirement from the showrunners/stylist. All the actresses are really thin in this show. I think…
China has very unhealthy beauty standards. So much so that when an actor is a healthy weight for their height, they're fatshamed. Happened to Li Yifeng during the airing of Mirror Twin Cities.
Mental isn't it? They're literally skin and bones.

The novel is totally different apparently, so it's a mystery. You'll have to find out as it airs!
