As a viewer, I didn't think the last episode(s) were necessarily well done editorially. While episodes 4-8 were well realized, episode 10 bounced back and forth and I found some things confusing. I remember writing a comment here to get help and sort things out. So I can definitely see that they can improve the flow of the narrative. The team proved that before.
(And at the same time, it's a good way for the actors to get some rest)

The rumors were only faster because the fear that the series would be canceled hovered over the series from the beginning, then the incidents with the actors and the trigger was Viu's premature statement. You just couldn't stop it and no matter when the team posted the statement, people would see their fears confirmed.

I just wanted to give an additional perspective on the production of the series, as there is a fear of it being canceled and intimate scenes being cut out. Putting all the fears about the series aside and looking rationally at the realization of the series, something came into my head while answering a comment, which makes sense to me when I look at the last episodes of the series.

While the first episodes were editorially chaotic with too many jumps and therefore sometimes difficult to follow, episodes 4-8 ran in a flow. It was enjoyable to watch and we also wondered here in the comments whether we had simply gotten used to the editing or whether it had been improved.
Then came episodes 9 and 10 and we discussed here that there was a lot of jumping around again and that the editing was as chaotic as in the first episodes.

Perhaps the team simply noticed this criticism via the channels and is therefore revising the series once again, rebuilding, inserting additional scenes, extending the episodes.

So maybe we don't have to worry about it at all, but it's ultimately to our benefit, as they are really working on the technical flow of the series!

You're not the only skeptic! I like him as an actor, but I'm very skeptical for several reasons. Don't necessarily find him suitable for the role and think that besides what you described, the pressure of expectation from manhwa readers and anime viewers will be a big factor. Can he carry it? For me, except for his height, he doesn't fit visually as Jin woo. I've also seen him in his villain role. But he seems way too friendly to me there too. I'm skeptical that a dark, captivating aura can envelop him and he can exude the charisma that the main character radiates. Byeon Woo Seok just always looks sweet. He has a friendly mouth no matter what role he plays. (And I like his charisma) So I'm afraid of getting a watered down, KDrama version of Solo Leveling. And if I, as a fundamentally optimistic person, have such a skeptical attitude, he would have to give me a very strong acting performance to convince me and that brings me to the points you listed. So I also have enormous expectations of him. And he will really feel the pressure of public expectation after the announcement. It's all going to be very challenging in my opinion.

Even if the series were to be canceled (which I don't think will happen), episode 10 would give you a small (intense) happy ending for the main couple and also the well-rounded conclusion to the “past-old feelings” arc. So it's worth watching the 10 episodes.
