well said. I think people who come here are looking for revenge plot, romance etc. Yang Zi chooses perfection scripts nothing baseless just to say she has a hit. She goes for in deep depth dramas. That have viewers in awe, excited and so much more. I hope people can come here not putting too much state into what they precieve the heir to be and actually get to know what the heir is truly. in a essence a family business of traditional ink making in China. And a young woman from that same dynasty and legacy branching out to reclaim what was once stolen, taken and lost.

I disagree. You can’t say that the 8th branch did not suffer and you also can’t say that her dad was responsible for that whole disaster. Both those statements are wrong . Honestly that Li family just saw them suffer and they also kept taking advantage of her when needed. It is not necessary to put up with so much crap for some ridiculous family rules , respect and name .they are coming to her only because they are failing. What kind of familial bond is that ? Hero? I think this show was pretty straight with what type of show it is from the beginning, starting with the title. the FL is suppose to bring back the lost glory of the Li Family ink. This is not the type of show, where the FL is starting her new brand, but one that after some struggle and family drama she inherits the family's business. This is first and foremost a family drama, a business family drama.

As you saw, the ink business (is not like the flowers business) it is a complex process, no less than three family-branches are making particular and very necessary contributions to the end product. Li Zhen, no matter how talented and determined she is, cannot make this alone, aka the best in ink the dynasty. You need a lot of resources and work force. I think this show it trying to keep it as real as possible, in was not so easy in the ancient times to start a new brand, especially as a female. As was stated, 'Li Ink' is a century old brand, that was developed by several generations of inkmakers.

I love the way this drama has matured conversations and dive in through the realistic portrayal of life in a competitive setting. The fear of losing power and inheritance, to the point 4th aunt could avenge on FL n family forever. And for ex bf, the fear of losing status and face value, could make him and family sell off their sister's life and happiness, or trample on FL. Indeed resentment, self pity, envy could destroy.

I’m glad I enjoy slow dramas and don’t care about romance. It was this way with flourished peony. Many hated there was no romance until second half and still didn’t liked what they got. To each their own. But this drama is freaking good. Learning bout ink making is actually intersting. I also loved how Li Zhen isn’t a Mudan. She doesn’t seem to be forgiving so far. Which is definitely a plus. I can’t wait till we get to closer waters with more juicy scenes.
