I think he wants to force ChiCheng to face Wang Shuo to win him back. He's testing him and gamble everything he…
Right. I feel like this was SuoWei’s last gamble. I don’t think he fully expected Chi Cheng to end it, even though he “prepared” himself for it. I think he still hoped Chi Cheng would crack and just unleash his anger (showing he “loved” him the way Wang Shuo described how Chi Cheng loves versus likes) on him, proving his love. This anger would also absolve SuoWei of his guilt for scheming against him and then keeping it from until the end. I think that, until Chi Cheng walked out the door, he didn’t fully expect it or realize how bad it would hurt him. But he did say that once he decided on a course, he has to see it through. And he decided to get to the bottom of the 3 friends’ separation, no matter where it led- losing a little hope with each piece of “evidence” showing Chi Cheng “loved” Shuo and only “liked” him. That last fight was the last nail in the coffin for him, solidifying his decision to the last step. I think he made the evidence easy for Chi Cheng to find to “help” him break up with him with no regrets and no lingering feelings like he had with Shuo.
I just started watching last night, but I see some comments about breaking up?💔
Welcome to “The Obsession.” Once you enter, you’ll be consumed by RL content. You’ll never look at the length of a week the same. Mondays will become highly anticipated days and the hour immediately following the last episode on Tuesday will make you feel like a piece of driftwood in the vast open sea; you’ll question what you even did before RL appeared in your life and how you’ll go on when the final credits roll on Episode 24.
You may have a brief reprieve on Saturdays if you also consume ABO Desire content. If not? Well, it’s nothing but the Sahara for you Tuesday (from the time immediately after you have watched the released episode)-Sunday evening. Stay thirsty, my friend.
Why are you so f’ing far away? Like, what did I do in a past life that deserves this kind of punishment? Making me wait 129 more hours is undeserved, no matter what I did. Look, I even repent for whatever my ancestors did to piss you off. I apologize for breaking that mirror. I apologize for stepping on sidewalk cracks. I really tried to avoid black cats (all cats, really). What happened to forgiveness? Redemption?
I ask you to hurry tf up! Respectfully, of course.
The age gap with the security guard gave me the ick and I had to fast forward though those because wtf. The overacting. The plot.
It felt like the director’s filmography is comprised of hard porn and he accepted a “challenge” from his drinking buddies after 4 too many drinks to make a soft porn movie- but he only had 3 hours to script it and film it. His hubris made him agree, of course- as long as one of his buddies wrote the script- the 50 year old secret virgin one who lives in his parent’s basement and watches nothing but porn all day long and spends his nights jerking off to unrealistic fantasies staring random people he’s met on his rare trips out of the house. Absolutely bloody brilliant decision on the director’s part. Who better to give a fresh take on this masterpiece! His grand opus!
Then the two proceeded to down 6 more shots, sat down and brilliantly agreed that a plot was unnecessary. For the script, all they had available was a used napkin and a chewed up pencil in that poorly lit restaurant, smelling of grease and dying hope. But they persisted because…ART!
All this funded by the other equally drunk buddies chiming in here and there. To save time, he “employs” his other buddies as crew and cast. Because why the fuck not?
Oh Man! Ep 18- they ATE! 19 will be sad af but 20 is coming…a whole damn week of waiting though… I knew today would be the breakup. I did like how they played out the scene for Chi Cheng and Wang Shuo. And the fight scene- I wanna see the BTS. Bet they all had themselves a good time while filming it.
But the top tier was the breakup scene and Chi Cheng afterwards. Like they killed it and I’m here for it. Like, I FELT the heartbreak through the screen from both of them. I’m glad the breakup era won’t be long. But poor SuoWei has some serious sorrow headed his way and I know that that’s gonna bring the tears for me. What I am looking forward to are the sweet moments between ChengYu and Shuai.
Is it just me or did Wang Zhen look a little extra handsome in the scene when he was ignoring his brother at the house before he spazzed out?
Ok. I’m off to rewatch this episode and the series again…and again…and again. *sigh*
There are also quite a bit of flashbacks. And the taller guy whose name I’ve forgotten is kind of annoying in a not-so-endearing way. He comes across as a stalker with some screws loose. Like he’s on something illegal. I don’t know. But I like Hiro. Those big eyes along with that introverted personality have me with 2 thumbs up. For him. And of course Dai being in this is icing on the cake. But the “bully” needs to calm down a lot. I should read the manga…
Yes. Netflix confirms it’s a love story between two men. How explicit it’ll be remains to be seen. I hope…
It was supposed to be a BL with Heesu and Seungwon as the main (and only) couple. That is not what it ended up being. So it was very disappointing for a lot of BL fans who had read the series and many who hadn’t because of how it was labeled verses what we got. The series’ comment section here is full of comments in more detail about it.
I’m hoping Soul Mate is not like Heesu- labeled as a BL but not really being one.

I didn’t mention kissing making a love story authentic or not. You obviously didn’t really read my comment and came to troll. If you had watched Heesu as a BL fan, you should know what my comment meant. But while we are on the topic you started: What authentic love story doesn’t have kissing?
Don’t judge me. You don’t know me. Or do. I don’t really care past this reply comment to you because I don’t know you.
Yeah, they’re definitely gonna give us the breakup tomorrow and then make us wait until Monday for any new developments. Makes sense. The ending scene was bittersweet. The stills they posted have a scene with Chi Cheng and Wang Shuo- I am actually looking forward to it because of its healing power in one sense for Chi Cheng. He finally gets what he needs from this crazy guy. Those who read the novel know what I’m alluding to. I wonder if we get it tomorrow or next week?
This show has my full attention. Like, it has my attention in a chokehold ong. I can’t even. It’s about to blow up tomorrow. 23 more hours to go.
Edit: Just watched the preview. Definitely looks like breakup tomorrow, as expected.
