I think it's supposed to show the desire both Lee Chae Ha and Ju Tae Seon have for each other and how they are…
Well said. It is actually very similar to how you put it in the novel. 😊 And there are WAY more kissing/make out sessions at work in the novel. In the novel, they are sex partners. But Taeseon keeps doing things that cross the line into the emotional connection you describe (we see a small fraction of it in these episodes), while still asserting that it’s a purely sexual relationship. It makes these intimate scenes make more sense.

and also, the episodes are too short… I didn’t notice I was already at the end of the episode. this should…
It’s basically 5 episodes long, since they give us two at a time. In contrast, the novel is 176 chapters.

Does anyone thinks Mr song likes Lee cha or maybe hiding a secret..idk he's so auspicious
I think both. From the way he looked at him at the claw machine, he may be catching feelings, but he also is suspicious and hiding a secret.

I can’t stand watching Park Si-woo. I find the character irritating, but I also think the actor is a poor fit,…
I think the novel gives us way more information about this pull Taeseon has toward ChaeHa. He’s physically attracted to him despite his identity.

And I think Park SiWoo is pretty cute. They don’t flatter him with the hairstyle. His real appearance with his hair swept away more is definitely more attractive. When I see them on IG together, I think they fit well together. I also believe he is acting well. He fits the character, who truly doesn’t express his frustrations because he feels like he deserves it a bit because he’s a murderer’s son- which he has accepted as fact. He feels guilt on behalf of his father. So he doesn’t push back too hard. But he will start soon, because Taeseon gives him the confidence. At least, in the novel he does. You can see some of his natural inclination to dislike the way others treat him sometimes in minute facial expressions and his tightening of his fists. He just bears it because he feels like it’s his duty. Remember, he was physically abused by his uncle from 13 until 20. That’s a long time. In the novel, he was hit every single day and forced to be the errand boy for his uncle, aunt, and cousin. And he worked and gave them his earnings. When he moved out, he gave them an allowance from his paychecks for a long time. In the novel, he also describes his guilt as a red scarlet letter that others can sense, even if they can’t see it. He believes Taeseon can sense it a bit better though. He attributes this to his absolute sense of justice.

I don’t believe you can’t fairly compare him with The character from Love Begins in the World of If- the circumstances and psychological impacts are significantly different. Akihito was never abused for years. His father was never accused of murder so he never had to experience life with the lane of ā€œa murderer’s sonā€ in a society like Korea- which condemns you for MUCH less. He had no reason to suppress his natural self-justice as his feelings hadn’t needed to be privately suppressed for over a decade. He never had to make himself feel or believe he was small and invisible to atone for his father’s crimes. Comparing the characters is unfair imo.

Because of the limited episodes and run time, a lot of things are missing. But they are doing well with what they have, I think. It would be better if they could go deeper into his background abuse (one brief flashback to explain how he was treated growing up isn’t enough) and show the viewers how he came to be so suppressed. With 176 chapters in the novel, they really needed 16 episodes at 45-60 minutes each to dive into the important psychological aspects of this story.

Now a character more pathetic than ChaeHa is Xaio Fan from Bittersweet Love. That guy needs a backbone, quickly. (He does get it…eventually.)

But not every drama is for everyone. 😊 I hope you find another drama you enjoy more 😊

Title Don't Be Too Emotional Spoiler
I’m still in the early half of E4 but I just needed to pause and come here to say, ā€œI KNEW Dan had selfish,…
Like, with Jane’s track record suspecting everything and accusing Big Jane without true evidence, why didn’t he also accuse him of possibly setting Jet up so that Jane would come running to him for help with the promise of an Ć  la carte contract featuring himself as the collateral? That seems more in line with his way of thinking- maybe it’ll come later. It’s possible he’s thinking in desperation.

Also, who lends a high school kid $1.2 billion (roughly $35,600 USD)? And he knows all his family has is a small Chinese medicine shop? Wirh that kind of short deadline to repay? Seems like a bad deal in the first place for any long-term business-minded person, even a greedy and shady loan shark.

And in more detail- Dan. I dislike him WAY more than Big Jane for all the reasons above. And he’s lowkey giving stalker vibes with the whole bracelet scene. He passes it off with a friendly face and this excuse of concern, but I see through it. And Jane isn’t too ignorant- he looks like Dan makes him a bit uncomfortable but he won’t cut him loose since he needs him to keep Big Jane in check for now. Looks like that decision is causing conflict within him though because he clearly wasn’t ready. Dan is delusional to think Jane was being true to his feelings when he declared Dan his boyfriend in front of Big Jane. Clearly it’s an excuse. Clearly. But since you’re toxic and wanted Jane for yourself, you went ahead and pushed for that to become reality and acted like Jane meant it, capitalizing on his guilt for using you and hurting your feelings if he denied it.

That shower scene…bro is SO not over Big Jane. And the dance scene- the chemistry is there, his feelings for Big Jane are there. Big Jane can see it, which is why he keeps pushing. ā€œSee me. See us. We’re good together. Let’s get back together.ā€

The staircase scene- so emotional. I could feel Jane’s struggle and Big Jane’s desperation. Bro is so sprung.

I do wonder when Jet started gambling. Was it before or after his interaction with Big Jane about the sports car? That’s a question I would have asked as an older sibling, even at the age of 20. Like, why did you start gambling? What are the terms exactly?

Either way, next week is gonna be interesting af. I’m looking forward to Jane kicking Dan to the curb and for this contract era to begin.

I am not a fan of Dan. Like give Jane sometime before you swoop in like this.
Same! I want him gone from Little Jane’s circle. He’s toxic in his own way.

I’m still in the early half of E4 but I just needed to pause and come here to say, ā€œI KNEW Dan had selfish, ulterior motives for pushing Big Jane and Little Jane apart! Like, he doesn’t even give Little Jane time before he starts hitting on him. No shame. I don’t like him. He needs to be punched. I like that his sister doesn’t warm up to Dan and instead looks at him with dislike/suspicion. She is me.

Ok…back to the episode…

…about 45 minutes into the episode and I’m back.

Ahhhhh! THIS MF RIGHT HERE! Nope. It’s official. I’m so done with Dan. Yup. Toxic. If you care, why can’t you be patient and give Jane some more breathing room and TIME? Ugh. First, feeding into the rumors about Big Jane and feeding the suspicions so they’ll break up, then saying you’ll protect and be a shoulder for Jane, then essentially taking that shoulder away under this selfish agenda, which was your goal all along? Toxic. We can all tell Jane isn’t into you like that and is not over Big Jane at all. Dan is too focused on what HE wants to see it though. At least Put didn’t try to push himself on Jane, and mostly acted out of concern- with a side of personal interest.

Ok…back to the episode…again…

Ok. Now I’m done. I have questions.

I’m like mid-beginner with Korean. I understand way more than I can confidently speak. When I went to Korea, I could pick up conversations, but reading some of the signs or responding was difficult for me- I’m more able to understand audibly before verbally.

I’m also passively (for now) trying to pick up Mandarin, Thai, and Japanese so I don’t have to use subtitles. I guess Japanese will move up to more deliberate learning since I’m working through the set I purchased. 😫

The most difficult part for me is the difference in grammatical structure that these languages have. Spanish was easier because the structure is similar.

On Semantic Error 14 days ago
Why does Park Jae Chan remind me of Park Si Woo? I was thinking his face, his personality, and the character he portrays reminded me of someone. I randomly decided to rewatch Semantic Error for the 10th or so time and it came to me that they are similar in a way. I feel like Jang JaeYoung and Chu SangWoo in their dating era are similar to the young versions of Kang Taeseon and Lee ChaeHa if they didn’t have such a devastating past. Especially the cute after credit scene with them just being a couple (Semantic Error). Park SeoHam could easily fit the laid back prosecutor boyfriend role. Then there’s the very similar size difference and the cuteness + handsomeness playing Peek-a-Boo behind the forehead-covering bangs of SangWoo and ChaeHa. Their eyes are both so pretty, too, while Taeseon and JaeYoung have that intense, eat you up look in their eyes when looking at the object of their affections. My mind can’t seem to help comparing them.

*sigh* I wish there were a Semantic Error 2 as much as I’m already wishing there was a The Prosecutor’s Proposal 2…

I couldn’t find any. There is a partially translated Volumes 1-3 available online. I couldn’t find 4-7. I just got them and am tediously having the Google Translate app on my phone live translate. I’m waiting for clear sticky notes to arrive so I can transfer the translations into the book without directly writing on the pages. It’s a lot because Google will sometimes change the meaning from making sense to not. I need to learn Japanese. Still learning Korean right now, though.

Love it, really enjoyed this series. It's light, cute, and brings me back to my HS days! Amagi's panic/funny behavior…
I love how Takara is only composed on the outside, but on the inside, he’s totally sprung on Amagi. When they give us his POV, I love it. Super cute rewatch for me. It’s my #1 fave BL; I’ve seen it at least a dozen times. I just decided earlier this month to order the full novel set because I rewatch it so much. Do I read Japanese. Nope. But I have this slim hope that the story continues in the book set. There are 7 books total with about 200 pages each. They arrive today so we shall see! 😊

I just go to Advanced and add for each time I rewatch. I don’t know how to make it show a repeat date on MDL, even though I’ve been on here for a few years now. On either the website or the app.

Just got done rewatching again because the manga books are arriving today. I finally decided to purchase the full set from a Japanese book store. Can I read Japanese? Nope.

Additionally, I have a JBL List. My tops, outside of this one, are:

-Mr. Unlucky Has No Choice But to Kiss
-My Love Mix-Up!
-A Man Who Defies the World of BL (all of them- they’re hilarious)

Unfortunately, there aren’t too many like this one. There are some KBLs that have a somewhat similar vibe- but Japan is unique in their over the top narration of the uke similar to their anime in their BLs.

Not necessarily cute, but some of my repeat watches include:

-My Beautiful Man (all of them)
-Cosmetic Playlover (both seasons)
-Depth of Field
Tokyo in April Is…
-Jack o’Frost
-Love is Better the Second Time Around (getting a second season)
-Our Dining Table
-Our Youth

I don’t know. May not be my cup of tea. I’m not a gamer, nor am I interested in games, at all. But I really like Maxky and Bas… Maybe I’ll just forward through the game stuff and watch the interactions. I like this over the top Thi and super shy Soh. Introverts are the adoptees of Extroverts. 😊
