i don’t mind ghosts when done right. Khemjira was done right. I’m more put off by the awkward vibes. It feels like this is everyone’s first time acting and directing.

I’m giving it another episode, but you are right- the “room” is too crowded. I know they’re using the ghosts to bring them closer, but so far, the element that made Johan and North’s story so popular is missing. I think the hype over these two, along with the delayed release, is something the studio is banking on for their story. Personally, I w ok in le have Ben happy with more lovey dovey moments between JohanNorth if this turns into a “meh” couple story.

Where is this streaming internationally? Does anyone know?

I’m hopeful that it’ll flow better soon because they’re my second favorite couple from this series.

I’m in the minority I guess because I anticipated something more fast-pasted. The dialogue felt choppy and the interactions felt inauthentic and awkward. This episode was a let-down for me. I’m hoping I will enjoy the next one better. I’ve been waiting for their story.

Hou Ming Hao…💗💗💗I love him. I don’t care what his role is, I love him on screen for real. His eyes are so expressive. I love that he can be so cute, handsome, dashing, and silly all at the same time. Yes, this is a fan-gush post about Neo but I deliver it with absolutely ZERO shame.

I also gotta share that Zhou Yi Qin (Yan Bai Lou) is serving serious face card along with Asher Ma (Wen Can). I could have sworn I’d seen them both in other dramas but looking up their previous works was a no-go. I’ll have more to watch now though. 😉

A sub-sub plot for sure. But it's a good watch. I just finished and enjoyed myself. The eye candy alone... The romance is in long, lingering stares. But that's really about it. You can tell they've paired people up, but the plot and the martial arts takes the front seat.

Finally finished and I loved it! Did I love that they killed off some of the people I was rooting for to make it to the end? Nope. But the story had me hooked. I only wish I hadn't watched The Blood of Youth before this- knowing how some of the remaining characters end up. Why do I always hope to see Hou Ming Hao when Baili DongJun is mentioned? Like, he should pop out with a jug of liquor and that devil-may-care smirk of his. 😊

If you haven't watched this universe, I think the correct order to avoid spoilers is: Dashing Youth, Blood River, THEN The Blood of Youth.

I really hope for a Blood River 2 - Or maybe they'll call it Dark River: The Other Shore (I thought one was already TBA, but I can't find it- likely misremembering). I kinda wanna see Su Cheng He find his arc as the main-main next. I love his character quite a bit. He's a bit mischievous with a side of recklessness mixed with cunning intelligence and steadfast confidence that I love. Plus Chang Hua Sen is very easy on the eyes. Like, that swagger on top of his looks? Yes, please!
