Hmm I guess there might be season 2 seeing how they laid another cliffhanger right at the end of last episode! Honestly this drama had done so well on it's story plot and even got me so absorbed on how they will progress next. Just a warning to new viewers as it did made me feel depressed and anguish as they uncover the ugly truths behind every crime.

Hmm just my opinion but I don't think Charmaine Sheh, Bai Lu, Yang Rong and Song Wei Long are that bad though... Though I know all them are related to Yu Zheng's studio which I really hate him as well but I don't think them as actors have too much issues with their acting... Though I know Song Wei Long isn't great with his acting, I do appreciate his portrayal of some characters. But for the others, I really don't see much problems though.
Does anyone know where I can watch episodes 23-25? I can't find them on youtube :(
Hi! I would recommend you to watch on Kuaishou and search the channel name 知竹Zz. please watch using the original platform to give them some support! All episodes have been released already until ep 26 and another extra episode.
So I kinda put this drama on-hold for the longest time ever but luckily I managed to complete this drama recently and I'm thankful that I didn't drop it!
Honestly at first I felt quite a drag watching Ep 1 back when the drama was released in 2019... Recently because of Park Boyoung and Ahn Hyoseop's new dramas, I got reminded of this drama again and thought that I really should not drop it just cuz of ep 1. Thus, I gave it a 2nd chance and the drama totally did not disappoint me!
So let me promote this drama a little because it seems that quite a few people thought the drama wasn't good, but I got to say that only the first 2 episodes and maybe one of the episodes towards the end is abit draggy, other than that the story is very well paced! I am very satisfied with the leading casts' chemistry and making wonders with their own roles! Just that I was wondering why is there such a big plot hole where the serial killer (Oh Yong Cheol) got revived by mistake in Ep1 around 42 min. Like how did he die in the first place and it wasn't explained anywhere in the entire drama... (If anyone knows, please tell me!)
So why I put this drama on-hold for so long was actually because of the worry for Ahn Hyoseop's rather unstable acting after watching "Lovers of the Red Sky". He definitely looked great as the character, "Ha Ram", but his acting skills was also definitely not enough to bring out the character's charms and complicated yet calm emotions... causing me to put off this drama for even longer... I mean I first saw him in Splash Splash Love and was comfortable with his acting and I know he can perform well given the right scripts so that's why I had my anticipations and concerns mixed in when I first watched Abyss.
So if anyone of you still wondering if you should give this drama a try, go ahead because it won't disappoint you at all!
Yk, I agree with you on the romance part. I preferred to view it more as "friendship" because that's how it felt…
No don't worry! The drama that I recommended you consist of 3 different story of which the 2nd story in ep3-5 has the most proper high school romance as compared to the other 2 stories :) If you have read the comments in Adult Trainee's page then you will understand. The 3 stories are not interlinked with each other and are acted by 3 different couples.
Yk, I agree with you on the romance part. I preferred to view it more as "friendship" because that's how it felt…
If you are more into romance then I totally recommend Adult Trainee (ep 3-5) for its romance and Shadow Beauty for friendship/romance! Totally worth the watch and super hilarious for the couple in Adult trainee! Both are mini series and for adult trainee watch ep3-5 for the stand alone story with real romance cuz the other 2 stories are quite bland for me :)
Yk, I agree with you on the romance part. I preferred to view it more as "friendship" because that's how it felt…
Not saying that the romance is totally bad but rather too forced, but I mean if you are not picky with plots then you can still watch it since it's very short.
No hate but I really didn't enjoy Great shaman Ga Doo Shim at all even though I anticipated quite a bit for this web series since I have always like Kim Saeron and Nam Dareum's acting style... Acting wise for the leads are ok but the development of the story was super forced such that both leads fell into that "some" feelings for each other out of unrealistic reasons and the ending really fell flat for me...
I understand that the series had to fit every plot progression into the limited duration but honestly I would rather the romance comes later than seeing both young actors trying to act out unnecessary adolescence romance when the characters actually barely know each other at the start.
To be honest, I hasn't watch such a down to earth kind of romance drama in quite a while and I must say content wise it's definitely done well and really good casting choice!
So to start off, I would like to commend on Wallace Chung and Li Xiao Ran for their great chemistry! They didn't had any problems showing all the complicated emotions their characters had and I'm really thankful that all the side characters are not just tools in this drama. Just that Wallace Chung really should practice a little bit more on his Mandarin accent, every time he had to deliver long lines I was literally laughing instead of into his emotions but I'm super glad that he tried even though he knows it's not perfect. Even Morni Chang who acted as Nie Dong Yuan carried his role really well to the point that made me felt so annoyed like some super stubborn/self-entitled elderlies that we meet in real life!
And to comment on who suffered more in the relationship, I actually feel both of them had suffered equally the same. A lot of viewers sympathized that Tan Jing as a woman suffered more as she repay all the debts on her own and take care of her sickly child but if we look at both their situation, Nie Yu Sheng also couldn't live a proper live as well. He was entirely on his own when he fell into depression, it was a huge mental breakdown which is a really dangerous issue for anyone who suffers them in real situation.
For what I really hate about this drama is the "hypocrisy" and how two-face the head doctor is. In one of the episodes, Sun Zhi Jun got into a fight with Nie Yu Sheng at the hospital due to doubts of the new medical treatment and the matter escalated to their head. Out of fit, the head just suddenly called off the surgery that the son needed desperately... Though the head made it sounded like he cancel it to protect his doctor and to punish the parents but in fact, he had no care if he was jeopardizing the son's live who was the actual patient! On the other hand when Nie Dong Yuan found out that Sun Ping is his real grandson, the head doctor here acted as though he is very concerned for the grandson when he was the one who took away the opportunity to have the surgery done way earlier!
And another thing is as the drama progressed halfway, it became quite a drag mainly due to the slow fight between Nie Dong Yuan and Tan Jing and distrust between the leads...
But overall, it's definitely one of the better dramas released in recent years when we are all flooded with shitty "romance dramas!
So I just completed both seasons recently and I've got to say this is what I call a good detective/crime solving genre drama! It has got a lot to do with psychic power that Guo De You tries to look for the hidden evidences through his "dreamscape". I love both seasons' actors and how much hints were buried within the drama that got me guessing what will happen next.
The chemistry for both seasons' casts are really great and not to mention not one actor/story plot here dare to do their job so perfunctorily like most of the 2020~2021 A-list dramas! I don't want to mention names in case of certain delusional fans but those who have watched that certain "ancient conspiracy" drama with it's background set in the Empress Wu Ze Tian Era will know what I mean! Not to emphasize on how lame and shallow that story was, I can't believe how they tried to make use senior actors to cover up for the lack of capabilities of the idol actors... Honestly no hate to them but I'm totally mad at the investors and directors who decided to do things this way in order to maximize their profits.
After I watched Tientsin Mystic, I realized there were so much more commendable and qualified dramas before 2019 that are worth endless re-watches. Though this drama lack romance on season 1, you won't regret chasing after season 2 as they delved deeper into their relationships/what was unknown to them and the "dirty work" that was left by the older generation...
Though I feel there may have been a season 3 to wrapped up the entire story but I guessed it got cancelled due to multiple reasons since the ending of season 2 was also another open ending. Still very much worth the watch and this is what I call a proper bromance between guys and in-depth local mythology that became a target for crimes!

It has got a lot to do with psychic power that Guo De You tries to look for the hidden evidences through his "dreamscape". Honestly this is the first ever drama set in the republican era that I've watched and truth be told, it's the best among many dramas using the same era. The styling, speaking accent and characters are so well done when it's not even a big budget production! I love both seasons' actors and how much hints were buried within the drama that got me guessing what will happen next.

Literally the funniest and saddest Korean historical drama!!! Funniest when Jang Bong Hwan progressively blended in with Kim So Young's spirit and all the comical stuff he/she did and ended up both of them actually retained each other's memory! Saddest when Kim Byung In had to die in order to save the person he loved so much...
Honestly as a drama itself it brought a lot of laughter with the vulgarities and strange comments made by Jang Bong Hwan but I can see why the Korean TV and audiences weren't that happy about it... If they didn't make use of a real historical figure, it would have much better~
BUT overall this drama really brightened my mood a lot during this depressing Covid pandemic and I will definitely rewatch it again when I have time!
for a low budget drama which is only 3 min per ep it might look good but i am sorry to say that those who r saying…
FYI web dramas/clips like this one mostly have very minimal funding and manpower due to the fact that they are aired on Kuaishou App which is similar to TikTok. The very reason for such a short 3 min airing and poor production quality is because the airing platform itself serve for "eye catching" short clips within very short amount of time. And a lot of the times, the post production works are all done by one person which is the content creator themselves and they need to release the clips out quickly in order gain viewers...
I'm just trying to share the reasons why this drama is so poorly done yet so many people are recommending to watch. This drama by itself is definitely an upgrade from past web dramas due it's character setup and storyline which is totally different from those cheesy story plots that many web dramas and even regular idol dramas likes to use.
Just finished the 2 seasons and I got to say that the content of the drama is honestly very underwhelming... Not saying the actors' problem but rather how the story was plotted. I watched this thinking it will be similar to The Ancient Detective but I was totally wrong because this drama focus so much on solving the cases but yet a lot of the time the murderers just pop up at the end without showing any hints of them being related to the case. Especially the last case of season 2 got me really tired of this drama, they didn't even bother to expand on the story as to why Yu Qiu and Zhang Yun Qing colluded in the first place...
Can anyone recommend me some shows where the main lead girl is bullied in school and the main boy leads helps…
True Beauty is not bad but quite watered down, not as intense and interesting as this drama... True Beauty sell more of the looks than story if you are into it. You can also watch Gangnam Beauty, story set up abit similar to both True beauty and Shadow Beauty.
Hmm don't know is it just me but I kinda feel it's becoming abit draggy for me now that I'm halfway through the drama... Anyone can spoil me how it will progress after the halfway mark?? And because I know K is split personality of Soo Yeol, I actually felt really sad that he will never be real person working hand in hand together...
Trust me just watch Ep 3-5 for Nam Ho and Yura!!! No wonder their story is set in middle of 2 other stories, they are literally the main highlight of this drama! Their's is definitely the hottest and more intense out of the 3 couples~
If anyone is really bored, you can watch the remaining 2 couples after watching Ep 3-5, but let me warn first you may experience anti-climax if you watch Nam Ho and Yura's story first...
Really enjoyed the entire 3 episodes and I would actually hope the drama just focus on them rather than just a short story. Really hilarious and steamy and I really didn't expect them making the kissing scenes out to this extend! Literally I had my grin on for the entire 3 episodes, NOT ONCE did I felt bored about the plot!
