I already added the tag after the trailer release, but it still needs admin approval
Hopefully admin will approve soon.
Wrong tags may lead to people critising the drama for being too comedic, by people who expect a serious thriller. Not everyone watches the trailers first before starting a drama.
a) A shorter ep count may mean a much better pace and no annoying filler scenes, escecially during those Last eps 12-16 that tends to just drag in 16 ep dramas. π
b) But Some of the dramas with 6-9 ep still manage to drag EVEN MORE than the 16 ep dramas, because the story feels like an Extended movie that should've ONLY been a movie, the story only fills up 2h's of time, and not actually having ENOUGH PLOT to fill 6-9 epsπ so 90% of the drama is basically filler ( + 10% a movie).π
c) There's also the risk of them removing TOO MUCH plot to fit smaller ep count of 8, so they remove important parts like character motivations (see what happened to Song of the Bandits), or it ends too abrubtly.
d) If the drama ends up REALLY REALLY good, 8 eps might not feel enough. π Ideal ep count imo is usually 12.
May this drama be like situation a) above with enough story to fill and not drag like option b) the worst case scenario imo. π€π€
This is not a romcom. I can't find the word "comedy" in the tags or genre, so I'm so curious why you think this…
Either way, it's unexpected that this type of writer is writing a romance lol. Makes one curious what type of romance they'll write, I'm guessing this means this won't have all the typical romance cliches (other than the overused trope of Childhood Reuunion)+ being based on a book should make it higher quality. Maybe the romance will be more realistic with some element of mystery/thriller in the drama too? π€

I didn't check the genre tags. This has also been on my Plan To Watch since it's first announced, I'd forgotten what type, others parts about it are more memorable: Good cast, overrused "FL returns to hometown to reunite with childhood crush/friend" trope, Hotel setting and FL is an Interior Designer. All these more attention-grabbing/memorable facts rather than genre imo.
Was going to binge-watch this afterward, but then realized this is set in Winter. Better to watch while it's still winter, won't be in the mood to watch winter dramas when spring comes around or just before when more in mood for spring/summery dramas π
So this drama live-watching it is then, I'll instead binge Love Scout afterward.
Although what's with Eve attitude of Ryong taking the vanilla ice-cream and still suspecting?!!! π€·. I feel…
You must've not paid attention enough:
ML was rumored to only be with 2FL for her money, which the Space Station crew was gossiping about, so FL is viewing him suspecioously, thinking he might be a golddigger/manipulator of some kind, because of the rumors. She doesn't know he's trustworthy, she, unlike us viewers did not get a Background story flashback scenes of ML's life.
To her, he's just some clumsy on the surface stranger who might have secret selfish plans that her crew keeps whispering about. She'll need to learn to trust him later.
I mean itβs normalβ¦ I seen flies mating ππ
I think the Extended watching & talking about it scene was to show the quirkiness of the FL +ML accept her quirkiness (aka. some character bonding),
HOWEVER just because THEY Zoomed in to watch Fruitfly Porn on HD TVπ , doesn't actually mean the drama has to SHOW that same ZOOMED IN VERSION ALSO to US the viewers LMAO, hella unneccesary zoom showingπ π π

This can be either good or bad. :

a COMEDY tag needs to be added here as well.
Didn't expect Zombie theme to be so funny and not depressing. π π
The comedic tone made it Refreshing among the other Zombie dramas/films so far, I'm even more looking forward to it now. π
I didn't expect this to be comedic, given the zombie theme, but that trailer π

It's already on Netflix Top10 starting Today and critics are praising it. It's just MDL hating it lol.
#WhenTheStarsGossip is at #7 on Netflix Today and has entered The Top 10 in 54 countries π

Also saw critics from review sites praising it as an interesting start.
Aka.
MDL IS AT IT AGAIN with HATING, But elsewhere it's doing quite well for starter eps when we don't know yet much of how plot will develop.
