The Trunk was also well written, just too sophisticated overall and authentic in character arcs for the brainless teenagers & Dumb fangirls on this site to rate it higher....
This should be stellar in writing too, and share that Real Characters trait ( and not fake Greenflags & mary sues teens here prefer)....

The orginal swedish version is also similar in writing style to The Trunk. This korean version is in good hands.
10 years of being a kdrama fan and reading many ideal type interviews and observing behind the scenes (including more hidden bts pics/clips sent by koreans) where some actresses keep getting genuine non-pr male attention ( whether by leads or supporting cast) in almost every project lol

The mystery action genre in kdramas is very hit or miss for me. So many trashy ones, mostly miss......Generally i think western tv series are better at action mystery genre.... But as I like borh leads I'll likely still watch a little of it at least....
