I am falling more and more in love with this show with every passing week. Every couple here makes me giddy! I love them for adding a gay couple too here. Though their story was tragic and short-lived, it tied in seamlessly with the overall story. I'm also happy to see a Kdrama not use a gay couple as comic relief, like SGNS did recently.
So one sister is off the list. And what a way to go! I squealed when our stoic policeman jumped into the river 😍 The middle sister's man has got moves too! What the show does so well is that even the suitors who don't make it get their happily ever after.
JungWoo didn't feel any heartache when HaNa met her suitor, so he obviously isn't the one for her. It seems more and more like she will end up with the CP, but I trust the show to not make it yucky.
And finally, our main couple is moving along. In the most organic way too. Their conversations are so honest and self aware ❤️
A very satisfying finale with all the threads wrapped up, and everyone getting exactly what they deserve. This drama had perfect pacing with not a single filler minute. All the characters were well fleshed out and all of them were convincing in their motivations. Even sweet JuRi who had only 5 minutes in the last episode and made me happy for her that she dodged a bullet when YuRa showed up at that family dinner.
The writer and director deserve applause for this makjang which had better characterisations and relationship developments than a lot of regular shows 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
We all know TM ain't gonna listen to what anyone says to him about HS, it goes in 1 ear circulates for a couple…
TaeHo is the only one who actually gets HyoShim, and because of that he is the only one who can convince her to start living for herself. It took 20 episodes but we are finally getting there!
I'm enjoying every moment of this show. GuWon and DoHee's back and forth is so funny and refreshing. It's getting better as they are getting attracted to each other. I do feel that a lot is getting lost in translation and it would be more funny in Korean. Still, we make do with what we get.
I look forward to these two dodos realise their feelings, and then the forced cohabitation that contract marriages bring. It's going to be oh so delicious!!
I think Soo Kyung (TV Anchor) has decided to walk away from TM. There is no reason for her to tarnish her career…
I feel the opposite about SooKyung. She is trying even harder to get TaeMin. Now that she knows he likes HyoShim and has no interest in her as a woman, she is trying to pressurize him using her family's media.
This show is in a pleasant, sunshiny, sweet-smelling universe of its own. Love that there are almost no side characters. Just the five gorgeous guys and one sweet granny!
Guy's issue came out of the blue. It's like he cottoned on that Peach likes Shin, and decided to leave using his envy as an excuse. Or he couldn't bear to lose to Shin in love as well as baking. Whatever it was, it was poor staged coz we never got any indication before today that Guy wasn't happy the way things were at work.
Other than that, it was all fine as always. The relationship progression between Shin and Peach was cute 🥰 Peach is just the kind of gentle soul Shin needed to pull him out of his self-imposed isolation. Didn't expect them to end up in bed immediately after their first kiss! But I'm not complaining 😛 The kiss itself wasn't that great. Both Ohm and Guide were not into it. That was a bummer!
Finally some progress! TaeHo spelled out to TaeMin what he is doing wrong with HyoShim. We will know tomorrow if his words got through to him. For now he has to deal with Ms. Anchorwoman who has decided to fight nasty, which is a disappointment coz I expected her to have more depth than this.
Love the way TaeHo is trying to help HyoShim without making her feel burdened. He is also respecting her boundaries and HyoShim is definitely feeling deflated by it 😄 He has no business going on that trip though! However, it seems like HyoShim's response looked like a green light to him. Or maybe I'm excusing his behavior coz I really want them on that trip together 🙈
HyoShim's oldest oppa isn't wrong in warning her about the chaebols. He has been working for them for years and knows how ruthless they are. It was good to see at least one person in her family worry about her.
Lastly, is the oily Secretary going to turn out to be TaeHee's father? Or maybe TaeMin's father as well?
What sets P'Aof apart from other Thai directors is the intimacy he can portray with the barest of touches. Mohk fondling Day's hand, lightly placing his hand on Day's waist while taking the picture, their everyday conversations that have undercurrents of flirting.... and now Mohk knows that Day is attracted to him. Day will catch up soon I'm sure, coz Mohk is anything but subtle with his feelings 🥰
The first episode was......strange....I guess? I couldn't get the tone they were going for. The group of fairies had a very different tone from the >!skeletons found in the jungle, which in turn had a very different tone from the interactions of our OTP at the restaurant and art gallery.!
I have watched my share of supernatural/fantasy Kdramas. This is the first time I have seen one where the God and the human are both so morose. Not tortured souls, not heartbreakingly lonely, not full of angst, but just unlikably morose. Not watching further for now. May check it out again after it finishes airing if the reports are good.
I was all prepared for awkward trashy fun, but this is glorious trashy fun!
The boys have chemistry!! That NC scene was among the best I have seen in a BL. Just two experienced and confident men having a good time with mutual consent. You can see on their faces that this amazing sexual compatibility can easily lead to a relationship.
I really like Nail's characterisation - he has self-respect, takes no bullshit, gives as good as he gets, is a confident fem gay, and doesn't play games when it comes to sex or relationships. We don't know much about Him as yet except that he knows how to respect boundaries and is more romantic than he projects himself to be. The friend groups are not irritating, and even the girl gang is fun!
I was surprised when the show ended. It seemed like it was only 20 minutes long. The Unforgotten Night team is delivering once again! 🤗
- Noble idiocy - Episode 11 break up - Laughable fight scenes - Boring backstories - Cockroach of a villain who refuses to die - Irritating second lead getting into ML's space
And they threw all of these tropes at us in one episode! This show is lucky to have MeenPing who can make me watch any kind of shit, else I would have dropped this garbled mess two episodes ago.
Even if episodes weren't split in parts, there would still be ad breaks in the same places so the result wouldn't…
My point is that there shouldn't be ad breaks too. IFYLITA had no ad breaks and it was a historical so it had no product placements either. But it still respected the audience and its own show.
It's amazing how TaeMin just REFUSES TO HEAR anything HyoShim says. She may scream and shout but nothing ever passes his ears. He told the anchorwoman that he wants to go back to his beloved wife every evening after work. Has that mythical beloved wife of his ever looked happy to spend time with him outside of work? His obsession is bordering on the dangerous now - that forced kiss and his refusal to apologise showed once again that for him HyoShim is HIS dream, not a person with her own agency. BTW, what are the chances someone filmed that kiss?
TaeHo refuses to accept her 'no' too, but he knows when to back off. He is creating work opportunities for them to spend more time together, and hoping to charm her in due course.
I won't question how TaeHee knew how to run an egg tart shop. I'm just happy that at least one character in the show is living up to its name. Her character growth has been the best till now. And I'm glad HyoDo lost his watch!
So Anchorwoman is gonna be plain nasty. Wish we could have got some nuance there.
The oldest brother really stepped up this week. He is looking out for everyone in his family while working a high stress job. His words about mid-life crises were relatable. Something does happen to your psyche when you hit the mid-40s.
I enjoyed that moment towards the end when TaeHo asked TaeMin if he too was rejected by HyoShim. I look forward to this conversation next week!
