You make some good points and I don't disagree. Let me start by saying that I'm not a fan of either brother. TaeHo has been nothing but an ass to HyoShim from the beginning. Undermining her capability as a trainer coz she's a woman, and even going as far as to tell her not to jog along the river at the same time as him. He started being nice to her only after he started getting attracted to her. And till now he hasn't done a single thing to redeem himself. It's his luck that HyoShim is naturally attracted to him and his lost-boy cuteness.
About TaeMin, he too has a lot of red flags - the main being that he feels he can think for everyone around him, not just HyoShim. He is self-centered to the extent that even when HyoShim tells him she is unwell and on leave, he continues telling her about his success with the Saudi company. However, his way of showing care is by taking responsibility and watching the backs of his loved ones. He is the kind of man who will make his woman feel safe against the world (and yes, in a controlling sort of way). HyoShim has given him a lot of hints that she isn't into him, but as of now she feels that he is flirting with coz he thinks she is a 'easy' gym trainer. I believe his getting the ring in the preview is his way of showing his sincerety and intentions of marriage.
These characters are closer to real people, so none of the MLs are perfect. My point above was about HyoShim going for the guy who she feels will be lost without her instead of the guy who is self-sufficient and doesn't want her to mother him.
As obnoxious as Ruby is, she told some truths that HyoShim needed to hear. She was bang on about someone like HyoShim being likely to fall for a man who needed her, not one who cared for her. TaeMin is a self-sufficient man with whom she will never feel 'needed'. Whereas TaeHo comes across as a lost puppy who needs someone to take care of him. Is that his appeal?
The mother and the brothers still refuse to grow up. The way HyoShim's mother openly favors her sons over her daughter is also due to ingrained patriarchy. The way HyoShim accepts it with just mild annoyance is also a result of growing up in a patriarchal society. I'm sure if there was another sister, HyoShim would have been a lot more angry.

The way she was shocked to see her own smiling face in the mirror while talking to him on the phone đ She's falling pretty fast but will likely remain in denial for some time.
No one can be more swoony than DoGuk, but his mother is giving him tough competition in caring for YiJoo already. The number of times she got offended on YiJoo's behalf đ Even the ladies in the cooking class cottoned on! Love that all the women in DoGuk's family are no-nonsense and outspoken, but without any malice.
Speaking of malice, YooRa got shown the mirror by DoGuk in the classiest way đ And the way he told Mr. Punchable Face that he is super happy to be used by YiJoo đĢ Now we have another villain in the form of the older brother. I hope this means that YiJoo will also get to protect DoGuk from his brother like he is protecting her from her family.
Episode 3 was even better! ALL the confrontations of ALL the characters in today's episode were so satisfying! I particularly enjoyed how DoGuk's sister saw right through YooRa, and how his mother dismissed YooRa's gift. I love to see this mother-daughter duo stew in their repeated failures! Curious to see how DoGuk's mother deals with YiJoo's mother. Will they be friends or foes?
And can DoGuk get any more swoony? đĢ That conversation on the couch! What woman won't melt?
PS. I love the jewelry on all the women. They all wear accessories as per their personalities but I can see myself wear each and every of those pieces. But if they could spend on such lovely jewelry, why couldn't they get the ML a decent wardrobe?!

The epilogue of the last episode hints at it. And Nonkul also declared at a fan interaction today that Season 2 is happening. However, the director has posted on Twitter that Season 2 isn't planned as yet.
I wish we had a longer reunion of Yai and Jom in the end. We got long conversations with the other characters in the present but only 2 minutes with present-day Yai. I know there's a special episode coming but still I felt robbed.
And that epilogue with Commander Yai felt like fanservice since there was no indication given on the screen that a 2nd season is on the way.
The last episode wasn't bad, I just expected more.
Tew already seems to have got into the habit of taking care of Guy - feeding him, carrying his drunk ass everywhere, putting him to bed, buying his favorite cake, and even wiping his wet face đĨ° They are both getting charmed by each other every minute they spend together!
They are so good together that I dislike every other character who takes away their attention from each other. Wahl is going to be a pest, but he stands no chance now. That other cartoon villain is an eyesore and seems all wrong for this show. He is bringing down the show's quality. Hope we don't get to see much of him.
The first episode was okay-okay. I can't say I like the present day ML and FL. Anyway, the present day ML is already dead, so it's going to be FL and past ML from now on. I don't know how they plan to stretch this story to 14 episodes. Will check out tomorrow's episode and see how it goes.

So this was a lovely first episode! SoonDeok is an intelligent badass, and JungWoo is the most adorable pompous ass. I look forward to them teaming up for their matchmaking hijinks. My only concern is the 16-episode length, and the fact that even the most comedic segeuks end up being all about the palace intrigue after a point. I hope the show can maintain this merry vibe till the end.
This drama is absolutely ridiculous. The writing is wonky, the acting is weak. And yet I gobbled up the first two episodes, and can't wait for the next one đ
