What I fail to understand is why a school kid has to be Neung's bodyguard? Why can't such a rich family hire Z-category security for their only heir? Forget security, why can't they hire a driver so that Palm's father can concentrate on guarding him when they are on the road? And seriously, one security guard at the gate of a mansion?!
Maggie is sweet and wise, the only person to treat Palm like a human being with feelings. His dad is a jerk who is using his son to pay off God-knows-what debts. And so is Neung. No apology for humiliating Palm like that π‘ He was still throwing his weight around and trying to buy Palm's friendship back with a pair of shoes π€¬ So what happened at the school to him seemed well deserved. At least Ben had the self awareness to know that he had been a jerk (though I can understand that he isn't ready to come out as yet and with such a father who can blame him). Though Chopper's reactions today make me feel that he is the one who pulled this stunt to break them up.
Nueng was right about one thing though - Palm is an emotional fool. A 'Sorry' from Neung that came only after he was dumped by Ben and ostracized at school was enough for him to forgive everything. That kiss made me sad - Nueng did nothing to earn it.
Tanya was the MVP once again β€οΈ I hope she lives π€π»
Poor poor Thi! Went to bed consoling Noey over Pam and woke up to Noey hitting on him π€£π€£π€£
Noey's logic is so loony! Dude took his crush to a gang war.....to impress him? π
Noey's mother is one tough lady. She has has a son who flirts with his tutor in front of her and a daughter who is supremely indifferent to anything going around her π
For all his complaints, Thi can't help but be concerned about Noey, eh? Even his friends have noticed. But how can anyone not notice when Noey sends hearts and kisses his way with so many people watching and his eyes stay on Noey all through π€¨
The only person in the world who likes Noey's cooking is Thi. No way Noey is not going to take that as 'Destiny' π
I was rolling on my bed laughing for most of the episode. This BL is so different from the other BLs and these are such unique characters! The couple dance at the end was again different from last week - there was no audience today.
NGL, I was counting down the minutes to the premiere π So, here goes.....
Everyone looks so pretty π₯°
Lian still hasn't learnt his lesson after the fiasco of his earlier public proposal π€¨
Not Yi calling Lian father-like to Kuea and Lian retorting by calling him Diao's Taekondo student π
Okay Sia, you're super cute but keep your hands off Kuea! π‘
Badass Kuea is hot π₯
Lian and Kuea back together π
Ah, the return of 'I feel your love'! π«
Seriously?! Lian, you tease!! Kuea may be drunk but he knows what he is doing! How could you disrespect that 'Meow'? π€
Why do I get the feeling that Nuer is still into Kuea? π€
Sia really is super cute βΊοΈ
Not Yi and Diao snogging at the traffic lights! π But they still seem to be reserved with each other. Physically compatible but emotionally awkward. Is that going to be their arc?
The secretaries are still so extra! But I could have done without those costumes and that performance, especially Nuer's awkward dance πΊ
These two really like their PDA, no? π€¦π»ββοΈ
The conflict coming up next week but we know it will all be sorted out satisfactorily. I'm not here for a plot anyway, I just want to watch these cute guys being lovey-dovey. The show is delivering that very well ππ» π€
I had been watching this show on 1.5Γ speed but today it finally got interesting. Coz today it fully revealed that out of our 4 boys the most spoiled, entitled and manipulative is none other than Nueng.
Chopper is a regular boy with a villain for a father.
Ben is a regular boy who has a crush on his classmate.
Palm is a regular boy who has been made to take on more responsibilities than is appropriate for his age and he is trying his best to live up to them.
Neung is the one who is not a regular boy. He is an entitled brat who likes to wallow in self-pity. The first time we saw him, he was wallowing in self-pity coz his father was late for his birthday dinner. Then once his father died and his mother stepped up, he wallowed in self-pity for not getting enough time from her. He knows the kids in his school dislike the privileges he enjoys and he prefers to wallow in self-pity instead of reaching out to them to show his good side.
And then he gets a hot bodyguard he is instantly attracted to. So he goes all generous on Palm while also showing him how pitiful he is. Palm is easy to manipulate into feeling sorry for him as well as feeling grateful for the privileges Neung shares with him. But the fact is that Neung doesn't really consider Palm a friend, but someone he owns. That showed in his talking down to Palm for not taking his assignment seriously and warning him about not getting any credit for it - coz he was jealous of his spending time with Maggie. (In contrast - when Palm had joined the new school, Chopper walked up to him to make him feel comfortable and offered help with his studies if he needed any. That was decency.)
Neung's true persona was finally revealed when he got shit drunk. It all came out - Palm was his servant and his dog whose sole purpose was to serve him. He had been playing nice to get his crush to like him back but when he saw Palm spending time with Maggie, his entitlement burst forth. And this when he is also stringing Ben along (he was discussing the next step after the kiss with Ben minutes before his outburst at the party!).
I am actually excited about this Neung coz till now both Neung and Palm were as dull as dishwater and I had lost interest in the show. If Palm is a smart chap, he will wisen up to the true nature of his young master after this (but he seems more emotional than smart). Don't think Neung is himself aware of how entitled and manipulative he has been. Maybe this incident will make him reflect on himself, though from the preview it seems he is going to wallow in self-pity some more.
It was in his mind already. He was happier with the fact that he made some flowers out of the merit coins. He…
I was thrown by how much in love he looked when he was getting the bouquet ready in the morning and then the sudden progression in the evening. Coz Noey is a die hard romantic at heart and him suddenly changing the object of his affection is bothering me.
I wish they would have let him sleep on it at least and let us see the moment he fell out of love with Pam. The sudden change makes him look like a fickle teenager.
Noey and friends as schoolgirls! Thi and his friends as Wathplu Gang! π€£ And I totally lose it every time Thi goes, "he he he" π
Besotted Noey is so adorable. His falling for Pam at first sight was β€ So I'm having a hard time understanding his sudden change of heart. We do know that Noey has been trying to spend more and more time with Thi, but he was so giddy with the prospect of proposing to Pam in the morning and suddenly decided to pursue Thi in the evening π³π€·ββοΈ
This show is a hit and miss for me. More misses than hits really. There are moments of brilliance (like the car headlights scene last week) but the rest is kind of meh. Also the duration is too little for the story they are trying to tell. Next week seems to be mostly flashback but I am not invested enough in this couple to care for their tragic backstory.
I'm still not feeling the chemistry between the leads. Both of them are stiff. Dong Baek is a pretty boring character with a perpetually lost face. The only time he looked interesting was when he was possessed. The only one I'm loving here is Denis. He is totally selling his 'bad boy' to me β€ I think this show would have been better if it was Denis-YuDam or Denis-DongBaek.
HW was reborn as DJ who had already died in 2002. The show made it clear multiple times that all events will happen…
Yes, I like that it is open ended. He couldn't possibly ask her out after what happened. But the fact that his words reminded her of DJ leaves it open that she may want to reach out to him at some point. Though I believe it would be better for both of them to move on separately.
There's a reason the trip-and-fall trope is so overused - it works!! I was swooning already when Seung Hyun fell into Jong Chan's arms, but then the kiss happened!! π It just hit me how seldom we get a cheek kiss in BLs. We get lip kisses and forehead kisses but such slowwww cheek kisses come along once in a blue moon π₯°
Jong Chan sure fell fast! He is:-
1. Standing up for Seung Hyun 2. Building him up in front of the boss 3. Getting jealous 4. Asking relationship-status questions 5. Dropping him home despite living in the opposite direction 6. And giving him a soft cheek kiss
ππ» All in 20 minutes! π
I'm so glad it wasn't a lip kiss, it would have been too intimate too soon and Seung Hyun was drunk too. A cheek kiss at this stage is just right to acknowledge the mutual attraction between them ππ₯°
PS. The lady boss is a popular supporting actor in Kdramas. Good to see a regular Kdrama actor in a BL again after Happy Ending Romance.
I don't get why everyone dislikes the ending. I thought it was perfect and did justice to both Do Jun and Hyun…
HW was reborn as DJ who had already died in 2002. The show made it clear multiple times that all events will happen as they have and HW/DJ couldn't change anything. So DJ's death couldn't be averted (he wasn't in the family tree since the 1st episode). What HW got was a chance to live his life with his knowledge from the future. And back in his own life, he got to take down those who had wronged him, while taking DJ's place again in Miracle. He couldn't have ruled Soonyang coz Soonyang wasn't ruled by the family by the end (they had lost their management rights).
Now HW is living a successful life running Miracle with the people he likes. I wondered why he didn't ask Min Young out in the end. I guess it's because he feels that it is time to leave DJ's past behind. Both he and Min Young need to move on from DJ.
I would have given this show 10/10 if it had ended on the 5th episode. The comedy was so goofy and the mutual attraction so raunchy. And we thought here's a show doing equal justice to both rom and com.
But then it became a different show with angst, misunderstandings, tepid love confessions, zero romance and dead fish kisses. It's such a disappointment coz it could have been a pathbreaking BL by Korea's standards. All that wasted potential is heartbreaking π₯
100 days? Every 2-3 years? How is this a happy ending?! Wouldn't it have been better if all four of them had moved on instead? Gaaaah! I don't know if I should be happy or sad π€―
The GL couple in the end were cute and I would have gone π― too at the sight of these 4 hot guys standing together like that! Them kisses were π₯! And how tall is Uncle? He hits different in casual clothes π
After a good episode last week, the show became boring again this week. Among all the on-air shows I'm watching, this is the one that I look forward to the least. Am pretty close to dropping it TBH.
Noey is so random. Thi is so random. This freaking show is so random! And I'm still watching π
What do they say about little boys bullying the little girls they like? Noey is having too much fun pulling Thi's imaginary pigtails (cowlick?), and finding excuses to go on dates with him for it to be platonic at his end. Poor Thi continues to be in a state of perpetual confusion, and who can blame him when after struggling with the table of 4 Noey turns out to be a human calculator π
It was good to see Thi not cowering all the time, though his reflexes continue to be slow. And the show continues to be slow. We have completed 5 out of 12 episodes and it feels like we are still in the plot set up stage. This could have been a good 8-episode show if all the characters didn't behave like they are speaking different languages and find it difficult to comprehend what the other is saying.
