On The Midnight Romance in Hagwon Jun 18, 2024
Dropping this at ep. 12. I just keep on skipping scenes as it becomes too draggy. I was kinda looking forward for the noona romance. Sadly, romance is not the main focus of this drama but more of the career issues of the leads. Gave it a fair 7.0 for the good execution of kisses midway, but too minimal as well.

This started interesting for me until ep. 10 where I still have to wait for the remaining eps. I placed it on hold and have completed Lovely Runner, which I think have almost same concept as this one in terms of time travelling. Now, I went back to this and I think everything went downhill for me at this point for the MC. The SC has a more interesting romantic story so to speak. I guess, due to overly altered timelines that made this drama confusing and yes, I just find the chemistry of the leads quite bland. I've seen Fan Zhi Xin in My Lethal Man. His character and chemistry was on fire there. I'm just not feeling it here. His good acting is consistent though. Overall, it's a 7.0 for me. Still, a fan of Zhi Xin. Will look forward to see him more as ML in upcoming dramas.

Okay! My first time to watch Byeon Woo Seok in a lead role. Should I say, first time noticing him as an actor. Like I've seen dramas Search: WWW, Weightlifting FKBJ, and Moon Lovers SHR and didn't quite notice him there doing guest roles. I guess, this is really his time to shine. Nailed his role so well. I was hooked on this drama. Definitely noticed how cute, hot and dashing Woo Seok can be for his role as Seon Jae. As for the FL, Kim Hye Yoon, wouldn't forget her face in ExtraOrdinary You. This drama gave a bit of a similar plot with EOY, and quite reminded me of Twinkling Watermelon with the time travel thingy. Honestly, I'm not a fan of time travel plots. If I'm not mistaken, FL time travelled 4x in this drama and that was a bit off for me. Like, she could have done her purpose on the second attempt already. I mean, why letting ML die 3x before things can be done. It's quite bothersome tbh. Still, gave this drama a solid 9. Inspite of the flaws and loophole in the storyplot.
This drama gave me a total entertainment. Humor is one of the main ingredient. The crime aspect was already something I expect in a Kdrama which I think is its trademark. Like, a Kdrama wouldn't be complete if some crime mystery wouldn't be injected on it. And yes, the trend will always be the culprit plays hard to get and the crime will just be solved towards the finale.
For the leads chemistry, it was there, but, it's more of because ML really pulled off his role to make women's hearts flutter. For The FL, her acting was just the same on how she portrayed her role in Extraordinary You. but, she improved her kisses to say the least.
I guess, the only big downside for me on the story premise is the excessive use of time travelling and altering events. Like, come on, you're almost a God to alter each one's fate. Anyways, I liked the proposal was low key and for that happy ending, I would prefer the wedding ceremony to be presented and not just some mere glimpse of their future. Overall, I was entertained and yes, I was mesmerized by Byeon Woo Seok. 😍

Title A Journey to Love Spoiler
I usually avoid tragic ending dramas but gave this a chance based on the given rating and read some reviews and comments on this drama. Honestly, I enjoyed the drama from ep. 1 to 20 I think or probably till ep. 30. I'm just a big fan of humor and sarcasm. And these Liudao Hall boys just gave me that complete entertainment. These boys really know how to eavesdrop and gossip. Those scenes were just totally hilarious. I'm not a fan of the leads tbh. FL's character is great. I like badass FL. Like, her sword skills are really no joke. I also like her romantic agressiveness towards the ML. ML is not bad himself. Like, his fight skills are totally insane. His naivety towards romance is quite cute. chemistry was definitely there between them. but, my downside was definitely the lack of skinships and not really good execution of kisses. Not to mention, it's quite lacking so to speak.
The strong bond between the Liudao Hall squad is really remarkable. Aside from the fact of so many tragedies in this drama. It's just sad that there's not even a secondary couple that could have at least given a happy ending. Overall, it's a solid 8 for me for the humor that I enjoyed from the boys. Could have given a higher rating if only the romance was notched up a bit and perhaps have more skinships and klsses. And yes, I was quite confused with the ending. So, both leads survived but was just not showned? since Chu yue met the MC's son in the end. the son even told how his dad takes care of them and how he and his sister have different last names. I think the saddest part for me here is Luan Yu's sad fate. I'm really interested if he and Princess Yang Ying got a chance to be actually together as a couple. Also, Shi San and Chu Yue. Like, why are they just for filler story? Sadly, I'm more interested to follow their story than the leads.
Anyways, still a good storyplot. But, the ending was just not presented well for me. It seems the leads seem like having a cat life after surviving so many near death experience.

I'm really not a fan of short mini series. But, just because the kisses are oftenly better here than full length ones that I got myself into these type of dramas. Sadly, this drama didn't gave much as to what I'm expecting, knowing Dai Gao was the ML. This, I should say is definitely a tropey drama. Like, everything was already predictable from beginning to end. First time to watch the FL, and felt her acting is still a bit bland. Sadly, the romance was kinda bland too, comparing this to Forever Love. A lot of teasing yes. A big check on Dai Gao's abs exposure as expected. And that proposal was just quite over the top for me. The business aspect wasn't quite presented well either. Overall, this is just a 7.0 for me. Just enough to watch Dai Gao.

Yeah, truly deserving. This also depends on their talent agency and manager I guess. Another actor I know who never had a full length drama as ML is Li Fei/ Richard Li.

Thank you for the thorough explanation on Quantum Physics. This is the usual concept they use in time travel movies like Ant Man. So, it has a bit of proven theories that could actually manifest time travel per se. That makes sense.

The premise of this drama is really interesting. Of course, Fan Zhi Xin made this drama more interesting for me. 😍 I just find the romance department seem a bit lacking or slow burn I should say. knowing we're halfway thru the drama. Can't help to compare this with My Lethal Man as I've seen how good as a ML Fan Zhi Xin was on that drama romance and acting wise. He nails the action scenes as always. But, the infusion of humor in this drama seem a bit forced. And the chemistry between the leads seem a bit bland at this point. Still, looking forward on the remaining half of the drama. Really curious what kind of technology was used on that special mobile phone connecting two timelines.

Got curious on this high ratings and checked this out. Definitely not a fan of the leads. This is the first time I've seen Hu Yi Tien in a Historical setting. Same with FL. Not a fan of their romance either. It was presented too bland in this drama. Only one kiss for the entire series. Even how they got together wasn't even presented well. Honestly, I got hooked because of the supporting cast. My fave was Shayao and Shen Huan. Though, there was no intimacy between them, but the purity of their romance was so cute and sweet. Also secondary couples like Fudong and Bai, the sad fate of Rong and Zheng, and the other Hua sisters who got paired up with these good looking characters I must say. I was quite surprised to see Cesar Wu in a supporting role. Kinda used to seeing him as the lead. The 6th Prince being the next Emperor was kinda predictable midway given that he was trained very well by Cesar Wu's character. Overall, this was an enjoyable, light historical drama. Not too heavy. Gave this an 8. I just find the chemistry.of the leads quite bland. I guess the lack of kisses and intimacy plus how they got together wasn't presented well for me. The ending is just okay but the supporting cast got me hooked on this drama. I have to commend also the good fight scenes presented. And yes, enjoyed the injected humor by the subordinates of the Commander Bureau.

Currently halfway of the drama. This seems so drag for me. Like the romance is too slowburn for both MC and SC. It tackles mostly politics that makes this drama uninteresting. The ML here is just too damn good as an Emperor. I mean literally, which I think makes his character quite boring. I mean, he refuse to kill anyone, instead save people in dispense of his own life. Another thing that's quite bothersome in this drama, he's been out of the palace in disguise for too long, along with the Empress. I find that too risky without a bodyguard with them. I don't know, but I prefer an Emperor who's a highly skilled swordsman than an all talk wiseman. Plus, the romance, nah, this Emperor has high resistance on physical touch and I hate that! Might put this on hold in the mean time. It's just too drag and slowburn. Hope anyone can spoil when the MC will officially be physically together...I mean initmately together. The trying hard to be sacred relationship just kills the boredom out of me in thr romance aspect of this drama. I think Guo Jia's character has a more interesting romantic life here compared to the leads.

On Always Have, Always Will May 18, 2024
Just on ep.3 and the FL's character seem so annoying. Like, she acts being a dork but being narcissistic in the sense that she thinks the ML causes all the misfortunes in her life. Come on, didn't ever cross her mind that lots of people in the campus hates her, not only one person? And yeah, has she ever thought also that a campus hunk wouldn't waste his time doing petty things that she may think of just for her? Like, Who the H*** she think she is?!!! She try to fit into a group that she knows she don't belong. She expect her teacher to believe her without proper evidence. If this annoying character continues I might drop midway just a few eps. more. I'm just being curious how would ML fall for this kind of character. Or will it be just out of pity? Like Seriously?!!!

On Love Is an Accident May 17, 2024
Title Love Is an Accident Spoiler
First, I'm not sure if this should be tagged as time travel drama, as per my understanding, transporting into a parallel universe is different from time travel. Coz, basically, when you time travel, you travel only in a different time but on the same universe. But, what happened here is they were transported to a parallel different universe given on the same time.
The storyplot was interesting for me. I like fantasy dramas that showcase the concept of parallel universe bothways, like, both parties can go back and forth on the parallel universes. Not one sided, in which most fantasy dramas present.
I'm not a fan of Xu Kai Cheng, seen him in Well Dominated Love which suits his character more. I like Xing Fei in PYHOMS and My Little Happiness, she's just okay here. But, what am so disappointed of are the kisses. The leads are both known for being good kissers in the forementioned dramas and why the fish kiss in this drama? just why????
Honestly, I enjoyed the premise of the drama until the defeat of the extremely stretched obsessive jealousy of Jin Ling. The drama should have ended in 24 eps alone. I initially wanted to give a rating of 8.0 for this but changed my mind to 7.5 because of the ending. Instead of giving more appearance on the villain, I'd rather see their official wedding in the modern era also in Yunwei Villa that never did really happen. And why use the ML being trapped in a time warp rather than just letting him go back to Yunwei and find another meteorite that was held by Yueming perhaps? I guess, the writer ran out of ideas and wrote ridiculous stuff towards the end. Also, instead of Zou Wei, why didn't the writer gave the chance to Jin Ling to transport to FL's world since he get to know the use of a mobile phone on the earlier part?
Sadly, such a wasted potential drama. Still, I liked FL's younger brother Li Chu Yang. Definitely, a potential ML heartthrob in years to come. Another sad thing here, there were no character developments among the villain characters. And yes, surprisingly, no usual secondary couples except for evil sect leader Hong Fei who got her partner on the finale.
Overall, should have been nice but wasted.

First, I'm not a fan of this genre. I'm into fantasy but, book characters that can manipulate the storyplot is not my cup of tea. This definitely reminded me of the Kdrama Extraordinary You. Am just definitely here for the romance. Have seen ML in A Love So Romantic. He really has a potential to do full length drama as ML. My first time to see FL in a lead role. I've seen her in other dramas doing supporting roles. For the storyplot, I just find its premise quite confusing. I enjoyed the sweet moments of the MC though. Kisses were on point. Just hoping there was more. A bit slowburn I must say, for a short length series. ML's character is romantically enticing. He played his role well. As for the FL, I'm not sure, but her character here is really quite confusing. Like, she's so full of herself in the beginning. Anyways, not a fan of the story per se, but definitely a fan of ML. Overall, it's a 7.5 for me. Should have rated a bit higher if only the storyplot is on point. This would definitely had been better if the characters were able to go out in the real world.

Title Fake It Till You Make It Spoiler
Oh my, after watching Will Love In Spring, I just saw this drama in one of the recommendations in the comments and decided to check it out. Little did I know that this is way much better than the above-mentioned drama. The story plot is actually plain and simple. Honestly, I skipped the corporate matters of the story as I'm just much interested on the romantic aspect of this drama. And, surprisingly, it didn't disappoint me. I so love how everything unfolded between the MC. I like both of their characters. They're both a total green flag. My first time to watch both leads. Surely was mesmerized by Elvis Han's charms. FL's character was really likeable. I admire how hardworking and independent she is. And yes, not being gullible to tempting good looking men is one of the best character of our FL. There are lots to be liked about in this drama. One, the leads are not childhood friends or not even a childhood acquaintance which is quite rare in the Cdrama world. Second, no meddlesome in-laws or parents to deal with. Third, I liked how the supposedly love triangles on both sides of the leads were easily dispatched with no complications. Lastly, the way both leads flirt with each other prior to being together sets the romantic meter really high for me. Overall, I really enjoyed this drama and gave this an 8.5 rating. There were just some small things that hindered me to give a higher rating. Like, this was a bit slowburn. For having only 14 eps. and the MC got officially together on a much later part. Also, I find the FL's sister annoying on the first parts of the drama. Good thing, she became quite mature towards the last few eps. And finally, the side stories of their clients for both leads are just so uninteresting for me. Lots of their corporate jobs occupied most of the drama air time. I just hope more interesting scenes were showcased aside from their daily jobs. Ending was okay. I loved the simplicity and intimacy of the marriage proposal. Kisses were executed well, but was kinda hoping of more skinships and intimacy by the MC knowing how flirtatious they are from the beginning with each other. I believe this is one of the rare corporate dramas that I truly enjoyed aside from Here We Meet Again.
And yes, I will definitely look more into Elvis Han's drama. 😍

Either your taste is bad or it's different.... Whatever don't rate ridiculously.
As far as I've read here in MDL, a 7.0 rating is still a decent watch. Below than that is considered an unworthy watch drama. I do only overall ratings. I never rated per episode, so my ratings I guess doesn't affect the general rating of the drama per se. It really depends on how I enjoyed the drama the way I rate it. There are dramas that are averagely rated of 7-7.5 that I gave a 9 or 10 because it gave me a total entertainment. But, mostly, I see here lots of over rated ones that has a rating of 8.5-10 and what I got is just total boredom on that drama. It just mainly depend on each ones preferences. Some rate the drama because they're a fan of the leads, some on the genre or some might have loved how a drama ended. A good storyplot plus a strong romance meter deserve a high rating for me that I give 9 or 10.

Almost dropped this drama, but stayed for Li Xian. I've always liked him since Go Go Squid. But, this is just not my cup of tea. This is the second time I've watched him in a melodrama. the other one was Meet Yourself, and didn't like that much either. I think Li xian's character in most of his dramas are the same. Like he starts to be a snob, then turns to be the most romantic guy later on. Not a fan of FL. Seen her in Nothing But You and Begin Again. The characters she portray may seem different among these 3 mentioned dramas, but, delivery I guess seem just the same. Like, I don't feel admiring the character being portrayed. Anyways, this drama is very light. The storyplot has nothing much to offer. By the way, kinda surprised seeing Wan Peng doing a supporting role for this drama. Like, I'm kinda used to seeing her play a lead role such as My GF is an Alien. I gave this a 7.5 Fairly enough for the good execution of kisses by Li Xian, as expected. It really had a good start. Got me hooked on the first kiss by the train. But, just dragged when things about healing sets in. Ending was just okay but nothing really special.
