that red pearl is her core phoenix power. when it finally merged with her (after the battle over the east sea),…
Great! Thank you for explaining. So, it acted like a booster to wake up that phoenix genes she got from her father. 😁

Title The Legend of Shen Li Spoiler
My second time to watch Li Geng Xin in a drama. First was My Bargain Queen. I think his role here is way better. I liked his reserved style of acting, yet turns out to be romantic. Upon checking on his drama line up, this turns out to be their second pairing as a couple. First was Princess Agents. I haven't checked out that drama though.
So, for the storyline, I was hooked on ep. 1 just by seeing Mofang's character. His role seems interesting for me. Like, I'm kinda looking forward for Xin Yun Lai to do another drama with Zhao Li Ying as the ML this time. I just felt the chemistry between them, TBH. There were some draggy parts. Another slow-burn romance. I think the story caught up for me at around ep. 20 something onwards. It took me awhile to like the ML's character. Like, it started for me when he was searching for FL in the sea. He Yu's character as Furong is another cutesie. Still, I like him more in My Fated Boy.
Romance wise, chemistry was there, but I still find the skinships and kisses lacking. Like it only happened for roughly 2 eps. But, if there's one thing to like about this drama, that is the MC is together most of the time. And yes, I really like the part when ML claimed his rights to fall in love and stood firm about his decision to fall in love with FL.
The ending was just okay. But, for me, this should have ended at ep.38. The finale was occupied mostly by the Golden Serpent's love story which I think is unnecessary.
Overall, I gave this an 8.5. The story of ShenLi's parents was quite interesting too. I just didn't quite got caught up on the story behind that sea pearl given to Shen Li. Like, it didn't give her any extra special powers or something.

Title Liar Spoiler
Surprisingly, I did enjoy this drama. It was quite confusing in the first few episodes, like, I thought the MC were just having a fling or simply dating with benefits. And yes, I thought the ML is a walking red flag in the beginning, but, turned into an ultimate green flag in the end. I think the story peaked halfway for the MC. Sadly it didn't end up happily for the secondary couple. but, the chemistry on both couples were surely on fire. I liked the simplicity and how on point the romance is presented in this drama. From the love confession, cohabitation, marriage proposal and yes, up to taking responsibilty of having their own family. But of course, the intimacy of the couple was also a big plus for this drama. It's quite rare for me to watch such short but sweet Jdrama. And for that, this definitely deserve a 9.0 for me. This is too underrated here in MDL.
On W Series: The Way You Shine Apr 1, 2024
A bit weak storyplot but you'll get hooked by the MC's chemistry. Puff Kuo always nails a kissing scene with her leads. Had a strong start but gets.draggy.midway. Plus some loose ends in the story like what happened to their multi million debt? Were they able to pay it? Why did the loan sharks stop pestering them midway? it doesn't show that they are able to pay the loan with their minimal income. After being able to earn why did the mother and daughter didn't try find a decent home to rent instead of staying at a male dominated home? Also why did the Doctor's sister didn't get ounished from her wrong doings? it's like spreading false rumors in the company is a tolerable act. This is a totally wasted potential. Ending is okay but could've been better if FL got pregnant again from the ML so she'll be able to relive what she regret the most after giving up her first child. ML is definitely a green flag. I like his loyalty and motivation to succeed for a brighter future with his partner. Kisses are hot and well executed. Gave this a 7.5 for that.

It took awhile for me to check this out as I still waited for the eng sub. Finally, got the chance to see this drama. My first time to see the MC. ML is definitely cute. Definitely one to look forward to in the Jdrama world. FL's character is okay for me. She kinda reminds me of Yoon Eun Hye of Korea. The entire series is enjoyable. I got hooked from ep. 1. I guess, Honda Kyoya's charm got me glued to this drama. Storyline is just okay. Not really interesting. I was just really into the romance of the MC. Sadly, this is too slow burn. Like the kiss happened in the finale and yes, after being officially together, it has to be a LDR. How sad it could be. Still, gave this an 8 rating. I enjoyed it inspite the lack of skinships by the MC.
By the way, the poster really is quite deceiving. It kinda shows a mature concept of a drama, however, this is simply a cutesie, fluffy romcoms.

Title Boss & Me Spoiler
I've always been a fan of such tropes where a CEO would choose a pure woman at heart, that he likes her because he wants her to rely on him and that she doesn't need to be a successful career woman nor be in good health, just simply liking her as who she is. But, I think this ain't that drama that best describe it. There are lots of things for me to hate in this story plot. First, not the ideal romantic CEO you would ever dream of. Like, come on, he ain' t romantic at all. If you're in love with your woman, you'll protect her at all cost regardless if you'll hurt a family member specially if that family member is into you and doesn't treat you a family at all. And this FL, whom I think after living in the City for so many years still hasn't learned and still too naive at everything. I mean being pure and innocent is nice, but staying innocent for too long makes you dumb already. Then there's the CEO sister who prefers helping an adopted sister rather than her own biological brother. Like, come on, it's a rarity for your brother to fall in love, yet, you keep pushing him to a woman who obviously is nothing but a sister to him. Then, the FL's Father who is all about pride and dignity. What kind of a father who would let his own daughter suffer just to pay off a money that his daughter wasn't even involved with of owing and doesn't respect his daughter's private matters of letting her live her own life. For God sake's your daughter is a 23 yr old not a 12 yr old that you have to exercise your parental rights?!!!! And yes, I just hate it when FL can't always decide for herself like choosing your husband to be or your Father's decision for you not to marry. come on, this is your life not your Father's. Everything is so wrong in this drama except for only 2 characters who were only likeable here and that is Zheng Qi and Yan Qing. These men really know how to be a man. And yes, Zheng Qi is much romantic I should say compared to ML who can only do his thing using his money and power. And why wait towards the end to meet FL's parents? why this wasn't done at least midway to show his pure intentions to FL? And that 10million being stolen? come on, they all have their investigating team to make background checks on their potential partners, why not use them to hunt this robber? Not satisfied with that ending either....that too late proposal. That jewelry shop doesn't make sense either.Since FL passed her CPA why not put that into practice and learn the ins and outs of the Feng Group of Cos. so she can be of help to her future husband.
Can't say no more. This drama is not the romantic story I've wished for. This is my second time to watch ML, I've first seen him in Sunshine of My Life. I think his character is way better there, but the acting is just the same. For FL, I've seen her in 3 dramas prior. I think I like her most in Our Glamorous Time. Overall, I'd give this a 6.5. not really my cup of tea.
On The Naked Director Season 2 Mar 21, 2024
After watching Season 1, got curious on the 2nd season and decided to check this out. I felt that season 2 yielded out from the main story. Like, it focused more on the involvement of syndicate/Yakuza. The main goal of transitioning porn from video tapes to cable tv as perceived was a total failure. If only the writer should have advanced the story a bit and transitioned the story to the internet era. Anyways, season 2 seem to be presented dark. Lots of negativity compared to season 1. I felt sad on the fate of Toshi. But, at least, Kaoru was able to fulfill her Italian dream and was able to start a new leaf. I really didn't like how it ended for the ML. I mean, the audacity to start a family, even he, himself can't take care of his well being. Even some of the supporting characters like Mitamura didn't get his happy ending too with Naoko. Overall, I'd give this a 7. That is for the good OST. I really liked they played Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode on ep.1 and yes, What's Up by 4 Non Blondes on the finale.

So, the story basically evolved on the creation of the porn industry in Japan. Sad fate on the ML's family that he never get to be with them. And yes, quite surprised for the ML to be able to surpass a couple of criminal arrest both local and international. The storyplot isn't much interesting to be honest. But, Megumi/Kaoru's own story made this drama interesting. I was kinda looking forward to Kaoru and Toru's love story. I guess, it will be on season 2. I haven't checked it out yet, but, I hope it will be the same cast. Overall, it's a 7.5 for me.

Thank you for the thorough explanation on this. I really appreciate it. Now I get to know what DID is. I'm only familiar with bipolar disorder and Schizo which is commonly depicted on dramas. But, watching this kind of genre creates a lot of confusion to its viewers. I guess, I'm just not into this.

It's quite nice to see Shin Hye and Hyung Sik doing a romcom together. The last time I watched Hyung Sik in a drama was still Strong Woman Do BongSoon, and his acting still amazes me. He can still pull up that acting cutesie for a romcom. As for Shin Hye, the last drama I've seen her was still The Heirs. Her acting is still the same. I mean, she can pull off a serious melodrama, but, I think, romcoms is not her turf. As for the storyplot, it's like watching a classic Kdrama wayback around 2013. How the family of the FL poured out the humor for this drama. Lots of acting cutesie by our MC. And all the elements you may find like the mystery part, healing, youth/school flashbacks and yes, all the drinking with classic piggy back ride, not to mention to, their classic back hug which was popular back in the mentioned era.
The romance seem bland for me. Like, the steamy kiss should have been given already on the earlier part. Started strong but gets draggy midway. I mean, the push and pull of their relationship was stretched too long. The Secondary couple seem to have a more interesting romantic story than the MC. I was kinda looking forward too about some character development on FL's former superior who never asked forgiveness on her, also on ML's family who never had the time for him.
Overall, this is just okay. It's a 7.5 for me.

Could you please tell me what happened for it to be a sad ending? Do one or both of the MC die? If it ends like…
Oh my, I'm trying to recall myself how it ended. lolz Since, I watched this 5 months ago. If I have not been mistaken, I think FL died in the end to save ML. ML was suppose to die but she died I think in his stead. I'm really not so sure about this, but, what I am sure is this is not a happy ending for the MC.

Oh my, that I don't remember since I've watched this drama a year ago. But, based on my conclusions in my comment, it seems Qing Ran may not seem to be the biological father of the child. Hope I got it wrong. So, she has done it I guess not sure with whom. 😁

Title Twinkling Watermelon Spoiler
This was highly recommended to me and decided to give it a shot. I'm really not into youth dramas, but got curious about the high ratings. My take on this drama, it has a good story plot. Great acting by the entire cast. specially Eun Gyeol and Ha Yi Chan. Romance wise, for me, it was Yi Chan and Cheong Ah that shines more in terms of chemistry rather than the MC. I'm not a fan of time travel tropes either; However, I liked how things ended. That the trip was worthwhile after seeing some changes. I'd give this an 8.5
There are lots of fillers, I noticed, that I have to skip. But, I must say, the songs were good. Not sure if those were the original singing voice of the actors, but, they were able to present it well. I just felt there are some unanswered scenes like what happened to Cheong Ah's step brother? was he convicted with the crime? And the evil Tutor/Stepmom? Should have been convicted as well and was hoping she would ask forgiveness to Cheong Ah that never happened.
Anyways, not the perfect drama, but still a good show to watch. I enjoyed lots of funny scenes too. Choi Hyun Wook absolutely slayed his character as Yi Chan.

Title Risky Spoiler
The storyplot of this drama is surprisingly good, unexpectedly. I liked the twists among the characters. I'm usually not into dark fiction, but this got me hooked. The ending is okay, however, there are some questions I think that is unanswered. Like, what happened to Toru and Mika after those several years? I know that intended suicide on the cliff didn't push through. The 2 kids of the MC was adorable.
Overall, it's a 7.5 for me. Some clean intimate scenes were presented. Good acting also by the actors involved, specially by the 4 leads. If you're into somewhat thriller dark fiction, this is the drama for you.

Title Mad Doctor Spoiler
I think this was the first Taiwanese medical drama that I've seen. It gave a bit of a Japanese vibe. The first few eps was interesting. Though, I didn't quite enjoyed a few slapstick comic act. Some scenes are a bit drag midway, specially scenes about the Hospital Dean. Chemistry was there between the leads. I should say, the kisses and intimacy are very well presented. All of the cast did well in terms of acting. The ML was hot but, I think I prefer Doc Zhao Jia Ming. Sadly, he's just a cameo role. I was kinda hoping he would be a love rival perhaps between the FL and ML. I also liked Fang Yuan Kui's character. He's kinda cute too. I didn't like much the story of the nurses, except for Kai Li, the pregnant nurse who gave birth. For the medical cases, I think it was quite presented well. But, just find some lapses like the case FL used a construction drill for an emergency patient. It could have saved a life, but, using such instrument needs to be completely steralized, or else the patient could have died of tetanus or infection.
Anyways, storywise, it didn't gave me much that interesting plot. But, the hot scenes of the MC got me to watch this drama. Overall, it'a 7.5 for me. I guess, the ending for the MC's romance is a bit hanging. And yes, I don't think "that" nurse who's interested with Doc Zhao aren't a good match. Plus, what's the deal of hiding his face and just revealed it in the finale? I mean, his character wasn't given much focus anyway, specially on the romance aspect. I feel sad for the BL guy who likes Doc Fang. The writer should have just given him a partner too. And yeah, there are lots of nuisance characters that I should say served as fillers. Like the different aunts. I skipped mostly of their scenes.

Title Fireworks of My Heart Spoiler
Oh my, that 40 eps. was really a long journey. I almost dropped this, but out of the finale curiousity, I decided to stick around. Honestly, the first 24 eps was a total struggle. Like, come on, the push and pull of the MC's relationship was dragged too long. The never ending series of obviously scripted coincidental meetings of the MC for every mission. The untouchable toxic aristocratic mom of the FL. And yes, @ ep.25, the light has shone and the real πŸ”₯starts burning. Sigh, just why have to wait this long, if the MC could've done this already at an earlier part of the drama.
Anyways, glad the story yielded a bit on this part and focused on the family issues. But, of course, they still have to end this with that predictable rescue that I have expected already from earlier parts of the drama. The filler about the brother's drunk incident was really unnecessary. I mean, no one literally was punished for their crimes anyway. I guess, that I find a bit lacking in this drama. The rich still got away from their crimes towards the end.
With the cast, Of course, Yang Yang still pulled off his charms as the ML and definitely, gave a fire chemistry with his FL. Have seen FL in several dramas already but, her role here is quite the same in Have A Crush On YOu. I liked the character of Song Yang's sister. Her character is way better than the FL realistically speaking. I guess, I prefer someone with a straightforward personality than a soft spoken one who just want to be tagged as somewaht like demure or lady like.
And for the finale, I liked the low key wedding proposal. Kinda looking forward though to the actual wedding ceremony that was never showned. The royal theme gown was made perfect for FL. Overall, it's an 8 for me. I'm really not in for SlowBurns but Yang Yang nailed the kisses as always. So, technically gave an 8 for that. Lastly, this should have only done with 16 eps.
By the way, I noticed some scenes were almost the same as You're My Hero, specially the collab training part of the doctors and firefighters.

Title Unexpected Falling Spoiler
😁It's not a "romance" drama..as in it's not the MAIN story..Its a slow burn thriller - suspense show I'd say..…
πŸ˜‚ And so you made me read back my comment on WIFTY...let me just share it here how I got that 7.5 rating. 😁 :
"I'm so totally struggling with this drama. Currently on ep. 18 and still doing lots of skips. Given the high rating, I thought this would be somehow like Go Ahead, A love so Beautiful or Put Your Head on my Shoulder. Seriously, another overrated drama for me. First, ML's character is so dull. Am really not a fan of FL pursuing ML all throughout. And yeah, a total SLOW Burn. I also have a hard time trying to perceive the timeline...like it was suppose to be the year of 2015 but they're using Sony walkman and yes, camcorders. I guess, one thing that bores me is the lack of sweet moments by the leads. It's like watching 2 besties studying together and not romantically inclined. I'll use more skips just to reach the final eps. and see what I can rate for this drama.
I've finished the drama at this point. At least the story notch up a bit in the last 4 remaining eps. First kiss happened at ep. 20. Ending was okay, but, I didn't felt that happy comparing to Put Your Head on my Shoulder. I've always like endings that the MC will have a kid in the end. For some reason, I didn't felt the excitement here. But, there's one thing to like about the ML, and that is his courage to settle down and preparedness that he was able to buy a home for his future family. Of course, I have to mention loyalty. Men who are very much loyal to their wife/gf are really commendable. Not a fan of the FL's character but her perseverance to get the man that she likes is simply unmatched. I forgot to mention, the writer should have given Guan Fang a partner in the end. His character is more interesting for me. Overall, I can give this drama a 7.5 Generous enough for the last 4 eps that only peaked my interest."
