Honestly this could have been so good, magic + crime-solvingThought we are gonna see how she help to break those…
Thanks for the headsup! really appreciate this. I'm about to continue from ep. 16, however, after reading the romance aspect, definitely, I have to drop.
I was kinda enjoying this till ep. 12. A bit disappointed though, as this turns out to be another slow burn drama. There are just 24 eps and the leads haven't been an official couple yet as of ep. 16. At some point, they were able to convey their feelings, still, I am looking forward to some lovey-dovey scenes from the main leads. I liked the married couple Li Mian and Xing Yue. I prefer their chemistry rather than Ning Lan and Lin Yan. Second time to watch ML from Poison Love, but I think, I liked him more here. Have seen FL in other dramas, but she just doesn't remind me of any of her roles. I liked that she has good fighting skills here. Hoping the romance for the main leads kicks in for the 17th ep.
After completing this drama, here are my thoughts. Aside from Wu Lei, I liked the idea that it was a noona romance and yes, I thought it's gonna be something like Falling Into You that definitely made me check this out. Unfortunately, it turned out that this is not my cup of tea. I'm just not a fan of full of talk drama. Like, I do watch drama for entertainment and not to get words to live by. Yes, I just didn't felt the chemistry much on the main leads. Wu Lei had a great chemistry with Zhao Lu Si in Love Like the Galaxy. Same goes with Zhou Yu Tong who had a great chemistry with Simon Gong in Begin Again. I enjoyed both mentioned dramas because of their great chemistry with the said partner. But, this just felt bland for me in terms of chemistry. I was able to hold on till the end because of the supporting couples specially Jiang JJ and Liang Tong. I really liked JJJ's character transformation and how romance unfolded between the 2. And yes, I liked how things ended with them compared to the MC. Of course, I have to mention Coach Yan and Luo Nian couple which added to the secondary couple syndrome of this drama. Overall, if you're into fiery, more lovey-dovey romance, this ain't the drama for you. Obviously, this ain't the right drama for me either. But, if you just wanna see how cute and hot Wu Lei can be in a sports drama, he definitely nailed the hottest tennis professional player role to watch. Again, Xia Hao Ran is someone to look forward to in his future projects. Awesome actor for a newbie.
So far, after watching almost all the episodes, I liked the development of ML in his sports career. I liked all…
Same thoughts. One main reason for this I guess is the lack of skinships and steamy kisses. Falling Into You is much similar to this, but the chemistry of the leads there are way much better. And yes, My Fated Boy is my top fave drama in terms of noona romance.
Eps. 33-34 surely is a secondary couple syndrome. Honestly, I got hooked on this drama because of Jiang JJ. He's such a brilliant actor. Truly deserve a ML role. Undoubtedly, Wu Lei is so hot and cute in this drama but, Xia Hao Ran's character is such a big surprise.
Just on ep 32. Again, Jiang JJ never cease to amaze me. Such a responsible and romantic guy. I love Wu Lei, but JJJ nails his romantic moves. that song recorded in a karaoke booth was an ultimate A+ for effort. And yeah, a man firmly decided to get married at the age of 22 saying he may not have anything but he got love. Awww.... Yes, I'm still not happy with the lack of skinships and kisses for this drama. But, I think I'm enjoying the supporting couples more than the leads themselves.
"Now she wants her career to prove her worth." - why is it when women want a career it has to be to prove her…
A person cannot choose always what he wants because probably one, you're not really meant for it. You are just persisting to want it even if it's not meant for you that's why it didn't happen or there are certain things to sacrifice for wanting something. Sometimes, people tend to be greedy for wanting something in life. Like, a person dreams of having his/her own family, it was given, Now, after getting a good husband/wife, a good kid...that person would want more like He/She would want to be rich to be able to put your kid in a presitgious school, live in a luxurious village, etc. So, the wanting would never stop eventually from that mere dream of just having a family of your own. Just like here that FL wants her career back, just because she wanted to, for her self satisfaction without thinking the time for her kid would be compromised. It's really just a matter of preference, some parents can do both, but I always believe there's always something that is compromised once you prioritize one thing or another. Like they say, You can't always have the best of both worlds.
I enjoyed FIY very much and I agree that the story pacing was better. However, as much as I liked the ML in that…
I agree on both comments. Falling Into You is way better in terms of kisses and skinships and Yes, on the story pacing too. Been skipping this a lot with mostly draggy scenes. I loved Wu Lei too. He's definitely so hot and cute as SSC, just how he was so hot as well in Love Like the Galaxy. However, I feel like Jiang JJ keeps owning the show specially from eps. 18 onwards. And I'm liking him too for that. He's someone I'm gonna look forward too in dramas. Hopefully as ML too next time.
This was literally made to be viewed on phones / tablets and was likely published on Chinese Tiktok or a similar…
I see, thanks for the info. Yeah, Li Fei has done quite a lot of short mini series drama. Glad to see him in full length at Royal Rumours. Hope he gets the ML next time for a full length. And would like to see him again in a contemporary genre just like the Crush Season 1 and 2.
This drama is amazing but the romamce is very slow. They slowly build up to it. They only start dating in the…
Thanks for the headsup! So, which means the romance will peak up around ep. 30 onwards. Not a fan of slowburns also, but will try to stick more and probably just do some skips to get there.
Been a fan of Li Xian since Go Go Squid. Am so not into melodramas but decided to give this a try given the high ratings and all the positive comments. Currently just on ep.6 and the pace is just too slow for me. Just wondrin' how long will the story peak up? Specially on the romance part.
At this point, I made it to ep.31 doing lots of skips. This is just too slow burn for me. Not really my cup of tea. I missed Li Xian's role in Go GO Squid. I prefer him doing those kind of roles. He used the same vehicle though JEEP SUV.
So, I was able to complete this by forwarding a lot. The kiss only happened on 3 eps. eps. 31, 39 and 40. I guess, I would never be a fan of slowburn dramas except for Sunshine of my Life. That drama was the only worth watching Slowburn for me. Kinda disappointed too with the supporting couples. Like I was hoping HU would end up with Damai and Nana with XiaXia. Sadly, none of them ended up together.
It took me awhile to finish this. I've always liked Jeremy Tsui not only of his acting skills but being a good kisser as well in his dramas. This was just a total disappointment as there was just only one kiss scene. Totally lacking of skinships. Yeah, lots of drag moments and the comedy is just off for me. I gave it a 7.5 for the happy ending. Li Fei is the bonus for this drama.
Finally, eps 17-18 was definitely a breather from serious talks. Jiang jiaojiao owned these 2 eps. I really liked his character development. And yes, Ms. Lou and Coach Yan definitely a new ship to cheer on. Almost halfway thru, I just hope the skinships for the main couple kicks in this time. And yeah, hope it would be as fiery as Falling Into You.
I guess it's all matter of taste. I love slowburn and long talks 😂 It has a really good pacing in romance for…
Yes, I am enjoying it because of the mature setup. Not really much a fan of youth dramas. Yeah, I guess it's a matter of belief. I really don't believe that strong base relationships are only built slowly. Sometimes whirlwind romances have better relationships because they don't waste their time getting to know each other. They're already sure of their feelings and enjoy every moment while already being together. I just want more lovey-dovey time for the main couple rather than being wasted bickering, unnecessary breakups or holding back because of their unsure feelings for each other. 😍
Definitely here for Wu Lei. It's quite refreshing to see him in a contemporary drama after Love Like the Galaxy. Same charm, physique and cuteness. I liked his role also that he has a mature mindset. FL's character is likeable too. I liked her smart, independent and definitely reliable. Story is also interesting. Though I find myself forwarding at times for some draggy parts. Not really a fan of too many talks so, I skip those. One downside of this drama is it is slowburn. So, I don't know how long will it take more before they become an official couple. And yeah, still, waiting for the kisses and skinships. It's nice to see Yu Tong for the second time after Begin Again. And yeah, Tu Song Yan in Go Ahead.
Same here. Though, I still remember the ML has twins and the other one sits in a wheel chair. One thing I can't forget is the ML is so tall and would like to see him in a contemporary drama in the future.
Second time to watch ML from Poison Love, but I think, I liked him more here. Have seen FL in other dramas, but she just doesn't remind me of any of her roles. I liked that she has good fighting skills here.
Hoping the romance for the main leads kicks in for the 17th ep.

This is just 7.5 for me.
