Sorry don't see any chemistry between her and Luo jiutian. My only response is eew, the guy who actually think…
Oh okay. Well, as I said my main reason for watching this drama is Xu Kai himself. Ju tian's character gave life to the draggy moments that helped me hang on to this drama. Yes, it was a touching moment on Jiu Tian's passing and the abrupt passing of Yunqi's dad as well. On the romance aspect, I respect your view on that. I just didn't felt that spark the way it was presented. I see it as Yunqi values his one and only childhood friend as he mentioned he survived his sad moments of childhood because of her. I guess, I was looking for that romantic gesture in which am used to in his other dramas. Since, this is not mainly a romance drama, I understand why is it lacking. One main factor for me as well is that I don't like the FL. I don't know why but I feel annnoyed everytime I look at her, in which I don't normally do in Xu Kai's other dramas. Anyways, each of us has different reasons for watching this drama. Xu Kai is my main reason for holding to it. Just seeing him again in a drama is worth my time. 😍
Only main reason for watching this drama is because of Xu Kai. Currently on ep. 12, and it's quite a struggle…
Why do you have to wear that shades Xu kai?!!! You just made this planet more hotter! :) Still not a fan of the FL and definitely not a fan of that kiss. But, when Yunqi said: "Wo Ai Ni", that's the usual Xu Kai ML I know. For the romance aspect of this drama, am just not really feeling the emotion to it. Like it started for around 20 eps that he doesn't have the feelings for the FL, then the next thing the kiss happened and wants to marry her. Yes, the usual childhood friend trope is there again. but the gesture I guess is quite off. Been watching Love Like the Galaxy too and I felt the chemistry more there from the beginning of the drama rather here. Anyways, 14 more eps. of Xu Kai's vest style cuteness. :)
The thing is ML never liked her initially just thought of her as a friend and rejected her in marriage also so…
Yeah, Xu Kai's looks here is almost the same as his looks and style in Falling Into Your Smile, that's why he's so mesmerizing. Yes, halfway through, finally Yunxi's dad appeared. :D
The thing is ML never liked her initially just thought of her as a friend and rejected her in marriage also so…
Yeah, I didn't miss that part of Jiu Tian trying to rape her. since there are so many reactions on that part which only shows how effective his acting is. Am so not a fan of Slowburn romance, so thanks for the heads up! :D Am just so here for Xu Kai himself. Watching his face in every scene is enough for me. Story wise, I still feel it so draggy. Like, am on ep. 16 now and still it is focused on finding Yunxi's dad and Yunxi accepting to be the Heaven Official Head or simply to be the Penta Sect Leader. Now I missed Jiu Tian's character, though he has to pay for his misdeeds, there's no more interesting character here aside from Yunxi, of course. Not also a fan of the FL here. Acting wise, it's very bland for me. Feng Ling has more of a FL potential. However, she's just a supporting role here. In terms of looks, I like her more either than the FL.
Sorry don't see any chemistry between her and Luo jiutian. My only response is eew, the guy who actually think…
Yeah, sadly, Jiu Tian's character is more of an antagonist, but I should say the acting is superb that despite that bad character he was able to make me laugh. Same goes with the chemistry I mentioned, because of his great acting he was able to bring out more character to the FL as I see no great bond yet with her and Yunxi. I've watched Xu Kai in Ancient Love Poetry, most fave drama of his also Court Lady, Dance of the Sky Empire and Falling Into your Smile. He really had great chemistry with his leads from Ep.1. I just didn't see the connection yet between him and the FL here now that I'm in ep. 15. As I said, I guess simply because romance is not the focus of this drama and coincidentally, the romance was introduced on an early part between FL and Jiu Tian rather than with Yunxi. Didn't watch Arsenal Military Academy for the main reason that I might feel hurt because of the dating rumors that I've read between Xu Kai and Bai Lu during those times. hehehehe And Yes, I am really not a fan of Republican Dramas. Like I said again, Generals from the Dynasty era makes my heart more flutter than Generals in the Republican times. And yes, I prefer Wuxia, swordsmanship, martial art skills, Generals riding horses than gun shoots and Generals driven by their chauffer. This may not be my cup of tea, but definitely sticking on it despite the struggle because of Xu Kai. :)
Only main reason for watching this drama is because of Xu Kai. Currently on ep. 12, and it's quite a struggle to watch this. One thing I guess for me the FL doesn't have that appeal to be an FL, seems like just a supporting role. I felt the chemistry more between her and Luo Jiu Tian, than Yunqi. hehehe Another thing, romance is not tagged in the genre, so most definitely it is not one of the focus of the drama, in which, I am not used to when it comes to Xu Kai's drama. So, there's only 2 reasons why I keep hanging on to this, One, of course, watching Xu Kai's face completes my day and 2nd, Luo Jiu Tian is such a comic relief! He really did make me laugh in this drama. The story plot is not that interesting for me. I guess, not really a fan of the republican era. I don't get to see fancy clothes and hairstyles of historical dramas. I also prefer sword fights than gun shootings. Still holding on, just to see Xu Kai again in a drama after a long time.
So technically Part 1 has already ended, but continuously airing for Part 2. They should should've just plainly put it in 56 eps for the entire drama. Anyways, for the first part, I got quite bored for like around 20 episodes and story just caught up on the latter part. Yes, I'm not a fan of Shaoshang's mother either. hehehe Her parenting style is not at all appropriate for me. I'm not a fan of Zhao Lu Si either (excuse me for her fans...) But, I do like her role here as Shao Shang. I liked her carefree character and expresses her thoughts proactively. It's my first time to watch Leo Wu in a drama for a lead role. Definitely he got that charms as a General, which makes me like Generals more than Emperors and Prince. One downside for me here is that it is so Slow Burn. Lacking too much of skinship. Still, this drama has a good story plot, though kinda draggy as I mentioned. Enjoyed around last 5 eps. The coolest Emperor I've watched so far. ShaoShang's brothers are an eyecandy too. Not to mention Yao who's also cute and sweet. QiQi is the coolest bff also. Loved the chemistry between her and Song brother. Yes, the chemistry between the leads is definitely there. just need to boost up some skinship, hopefully to get it on Part 2. Overall, this drama is enjoyable, hopefully have a good ending on part 2.
oh my god I'm on ep 15 and I agree 100% on the 3rd ML syndrome. When FL lead thinks he's 1ML with the mask on and…
True...and I look forward more on Xu Kai Xin's drama because of this. Try to check out In Love with Your Dimples and My Lonely Planet. He's so cute too on those dramas.
Am really not fond of mini series, even comic character genre type of dramas. Just got curious with the high ratings for this drama. It has very same feels as the Kdrama ExtraOrdinary You and W. The only difference is this drama has short episodes as it was written. And the kisses here are way too hot compared to those I mentioned. First time to watch the entire cast. The leads were able to pull off that chemistry. Another thing I liked here, it has limited number of casts which is much easier to follow. I like fantasy dramas but the comic world isn't my cup of tea. I would still prefer characters in the real world that won't dissipate. Overall, still this drama can make your heart flutter with those hot kisses.
Definitely this drama can be tagged as "Too Many"...too many episodes, too many characters, too many misunderstanding, too many men liking the FL. 60 episodes was a total struggle. And yes, super slow burn too. Skinship and kisses are very minimal, which is another downside of this drama. Story plot has a potential. Chemistry of the leads was there, but the thing is, moments of the leads being together are too minimal. FL spent more time with SML then ML himself. First time to watch the entire cast in a drama. Acting were good. Ml's character is likeable. Absolutely, Jim Yu is such a cute and tall guy. Fl's character is likeable too with almost all the lead men in the cast were into her. Aside from the main leads, i also liked the character of Qi Fang, he reminds me of Suga of BTS, they kinda resemble for me. And of course, who wouldn't like Duan Yue Rong for his loyalty to FL. Ending was just okay for me, but would still prefer if lead couple have a kid of their own too. Overall, this drama would have a potential if leads have more moments together and episodes should have been cut to only around 30 eps. Some good points of this drama, obviously, it's highly budgeted with the glam costumes and cinematography. Downside, with too many casts, it makes confusing to follow each character. Highest I can rate for this drama is a 7. Will look forward to see Jim Yu in modern dramas, hopefully on a lead role too.
“Another CEO amnesia trope drama cliche” is there more cdramas like this? Btw thanks for your review! Despite…
Yes, there are lots of CEO amnesia trope cdramas like this. to name a few: Well dominated Love, Lost Romance, Walk into your Memory, Be My Princess(ML is an actor here not CEO). Not really a fan of amnesia tropes but you may try some of these I mentioned. They're actually way better than this. :D
So one main reason for me to check out this drama is because of Xu Kai Xin and YangShi Ze. This has been the 3rd drama seeing them both togehter, First was LOvely Swords Girl, Second was In Love with Your Dimples. I must admit, after watching these 3 dramas, Xu Kai Xin's character always wins my heart. In this drama, again for me is a 2nd ML syndrome. I just felt more the chemistry between Ray and Wang Chen than Miao Yu. First hallf of the drama got me hooked, but got draggy for me halfway till the end. I liked character development too, but am not happy that Ray have to end up with Zhi Zhi, I believe he deserves someone way better than her. First time to watch FL in a drama. She's just okay for me. The kisses were well executed. As always, Shang Yi Ze would have that sexy image in a drama, though I believe it wasn't necessary since he's cute enough to watch specially when he smiles. He's okay too as the ML. I guess, he wasn't just paired yet to the right FL that would spark great chemistry for him and the right story as well. Overall, this is just a light, fluffy drama. Still, In Love with Your Dimples is way better than this. Highest I can give here is a 7.
After watching Lovely Swords Girl, I was so happy to see these 3 hot gentlemen together again in this drama. Undeniably, the bond and chemistry of these 3 gorgeous men are so strong. I liked this drama a lot. Started a bit weak, but went stronger as the drama progresses. I've always liked Xu Kai Xin's character since Lovely Swords Girl and now here too. But of course, I can't deny the cuteness and hotness of Yang Shi Ze. His looks really kept me reminded of Jeon Jungkook of BTS. They resemble a lot specially with that smile. Another strong point of this drama is the skinship. This has definitely more skinship than the former drama I mentioned. Li Jia Hao's character here as He Qi Zan is so likeable too., which makes me look forward to see him play a lead role in the future. The FL's character is likeable too. I like that she's smart in programming. Still, I would prefer a different FL to play the role. No offense, but Mengdi is quite more goodlooking than Ella herself. I liked how things wrapped up for the 3 couples, but, there's also an inner thought of a sequel for some romantic inclination on the roommates QiZan and Ella, I just felt the chemistry between the 2. Overall, I strongly believe this drama is so underrated, Another hidden gem for me. Gave this drama a 9. Highly recommended.
Okay, so one of the rarities of this drama for me is that I dote for the 3rd ML. It's technically a 3ML syndrome for me who is Gong Yuan Huan, the second brother of the Gong Family. I felt the sincerity of feelings most from him towards the FL. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to express his feelings to give way to his eldest sibling. My thoughts, first for the ML's character, definitely the looks is there. He's definitely cute with those dimples. Downside of his character is his Trust issues. Like I really hate that he always put the FL to the test of her loyalty to him to the point of pretending about everything. The FL, on the other hand, I liked her carefree spirit character. Like what you see is what you get, no pretentions. I also liked that she stood firm when a divorce paper was layed out in front of her. Atta girl! For the 2ndML, I've always liked He Yu in My Fated Boy. His character is also likeable here, but, as expected another unrequitted love for the 2ndML. I skipped parts on issues of the sect and just focused on the romance part story. Another big downside for me here is the scarcity of skinship. Super slowburn! Ending was just okay. But, like I said, I would prefer a twist of FL choosing the 3rdML instead. Highest I can give for this drama is a 7.
62 episodes is long, making me think twice about this one. What was the reason for the 20 episode separation?
They need to separate due to the issues of the State like the war and technically the General is the brother of the King so he has to save him as well. The FL is pregnant at this moment which she hasn't revealed yet to ML. Basically the 20 eps. evolved in these moments.
On the romance aspect, I respect your view on that. I just didn't felt that spark the way it was presented. I see it as Yunqi values his one and only childhood friend as he mentioned he survived his sad moments of childhood because of her.
