It’s not like I totally dislike her. I have mixed feelings about her. Some things I liked and some not so much. But I definitely will watch this drama again. It was very interesting

But let’s talk about relationships- our FL was not cut out to be in one. She was a very self centered person and it was about self preservation for her . She never knew what love was at all. She wanted to marry Luo Yao because he was doing everything she wanted. Relationships never work that way. No one can be that most important center that the other person should revolve around but that is what the FL wanted. She did not want someone telling her what do and also not someone who had a brain do their own and did their own things. There was nothing normal about her.

I actually do agree with you. They could have stopped at the revenge or gotten them married after he came back to life . NiaoNiao’s issues die take up like 90% of the story so much so that Lin Buyi’s revenge story was diluted. She was so bull headed that I felt like she did not deserve to be in a relationship at all. Even when she took off to save that village in the end - completely uncalled for again what did she accomplish? Her family came and saved her . I really did not appreciate the FL’ s character at all in this drama like some other people did. Well I have been receiving backlash for that here LOL. But that is where I stand

Exactly that is my point - why bring a 15/16 yrs old who was so brash all the time into confidence? But her whole family would have been involved in that mess. This man could not even prove his identity- He had lost all the evidence and what happened to him was not trivial plus his aunt was like that. Yes he could have put Shaoshang first and married her. He would have of Peng Kun had not been murdered and his aunt had not died. Something snapped in him when Ling Yi wanted to celebrate his birthday right after his aunt’s death. I always look at Ling Buyi as someone who has severe PTSD and other issues . I believe till that day he still thought things would not go bad but unfortunately it all blew up. So that is where I stand. He was unfortunately stuck with a girl who had severe abandonment issues . They were both messed up. It was Shaoshang who asked the queen to breakup the engagement. The queen did it very reluctantly. This is not as straightforward forward as oh he should have put her first or he should not have taken her for a ride. He always told her not to get involved in those politics. But she did many things behind his back. They both did not trust one another enough. So I don’t think Linf Buyi alone should be blamed. That relationship broke because of both of them and who they were. Honestly Shawshank should have settled for a weak guy who just followed her around like a puppy. Ling Buyi was not that and initially she could not reconcile to that fact. This was my 4th watch and I am pretty sure India not miss anything . So this is where I stand

Yes but who thinks straight when they are in that situation or depserate that way. Hindsight is 50-50. He does regret later. But his revenge was important. And the crown prince was in the middle of it because of his alliances. We cannot say its was all the ML’s fault either. The circumstances were like that and we need to cut him some slack too

My question to you is this. Yes there was a lot going on but why would you even think that Ling Buying would be open with her about these things or tell her everything? That is who he is- he had a lot of those secretive things going on . This is like being with a spy and expecting them to bare their heart to you.. Shaoshang was always behaving like this woman who knew how to handle these things but she was not a political person. Telling all his secrets to her would have been dangerous. So I don’t think he was wrong. I watched everything carefully - thank you very much and like you this was my 3rd watch. I actually thing Ling Buyi was right to keep theee things from her knowing her character. Yes he should not have left her but did he expect that massacre to happen? . I agree that PenKun’s head was provocative but it was a kill or die situation. You need to understand his situation as well and how desperate he was. Plus I don’t forward anything so don’t assume. As I said before you want to discuss the drama please do but don’t assume things about me. I don’t need preaching here

The CGI is just amazing and the story is very interesting

Yeah we can agree on the cliff thing. But you know that thing at the cliff - there was another aspect - they were both not thinking straight. He had just come out of the massacre and knew that he will not have a good ending and she was only thinking about being abandoned by him. Emotions were running high there and nothing good could have come out of it. If they were both a little more mature they would have talked it through .

No worries. Both leads were damaged and flawed if you think about it but she was as stubborn as her mom and that is why they had so many issues. It was a very interesting drama and what made it good was the fact that the characters were all far from perfect. It is very realistic . I did want to shake the FL a few times though to get her head in the right place
