Meh, the other poster hits better. That teaser though👀

The amount of period dramas i dipped a toe in the past couple days is embarrassing, none has been remotely close to as hot as this. All the recs are rather unrealistic, goofy comedy, a random pervert, goofy looking, oh, two random perverts, or already watched. If gu tingye had put his damn cape down for a second I would’ve been good on this genre for a while. Sigh

It gets to a point when a drama just starts screaming at you to stop, you’ve seen these mediocre setups too many times, don’t kid yourself. Sigh, at least the trailer was worth it.

Didn’t notice the new name, much slicker. Feel like i should watch something from this writer before this comes. Though i do trust Kim Tae Ri’s taste in selection more than any writer or director.

Appears decent. Off looks alone i feel the potential of it being among gems like Anna just floating under the radar. May lack substance past heavy themes and fall flat.

A couple red flags here, main one being Lee El as the lead.. a dream come true too soon. Might be a pass but I’ll let it get closer to release.

Never hurts to recap. This drama has high rewatch value even when not finished. I just go with the flow until they stick.

.. a 73 episode slice of life. People hopped in expecting something that wouldn't take its time in that aspect? Painfully slow is a funny way of putting it when those first couple episodes were far from it. Somewhere further in the series sure i may feel the same as it would only make sense. One has to have the attention span of a carnival goldfish to lose interest this early, especially when quality of this level is rare enough in cdramas.

Doesn’t necessarily relate to caring for the cause or not. It’s simply strengthening their public image as well as encouraging future new donators. They can genuinely care for both the cause and the longevity of their career, hell they could simply not do anything like most. With some it’s a needless hassle to do so anonymously anyway.

... so uh, 7 episodes in. Anybody care explaining to me when I’m supposed to be bored here? Was i not supposed to be fully invested yet? Top notch performances, high production quality, naturally witty dialogue. Feels absurd to know some were dropping it this early or finding it hard to continue. Are we not interested in good storytelling at this length or just good storytelling itself?

Y’all gotta learn to stop obsessing over dramas. How such a mess of a series stay on yall minds when moving to another is beyond my understanding. Hate comments under unrelated dramas won’t suddenly stop others from enjoying them.

Chemistry between the leads was surprisingly natural from what I’ve seen. Unfortunately everything else surrounding them is way too goofy for me to take any of the plot lines serious. Wonky pacing and tone balance . Hop in solely for the leads and it shouldn’t disappoint.

Skimmed through a couple eps to get a feel. Cinematography holds up. Impressive fight choreography taking its genre into consideration. Refreshing narrative. The bgm could dial it back a bit. Worth a try.

Agreed that if it was anybody else winning best actress it would’ve been understandable. Maybe a slight reach for Bae Suzy in comparison to the others but definitely deserved the nomination.

Weak Hero did, for best new actor and probably 1-2 others I’m too lazy to scroll back up to check. It could’ve gone for best supporting actor or choreography if that existed? I don’t picture it contesting anywhere else honestly. King of pigs flew so far under the radar the writer probably didn’t even remember it was eligible.

Biggest robbery here I’d say is supporting actress. May be my ignorance but i see nobody else taking that over Lee El. At least she didn’t go without recognition i guess. Best drama is a joke, we all have our favorites.. but be for real💀.

A peek at their account and we can see their take is pretty biased. Though i must say her performance in Anna was exceptional enough for the nomination. Wouldn’t put on par with the effort and consistency of Eun Bin’s performance though. They just threw the award at Song Gye Ko though in my opinion, absolutely nothing impressed me there.

Exactly. The way my face lit up seeing their award for screenplay compared to my blank expression to all the others is sad. Popularity over quality I guess. A few I’d say deserved.
