Kim Hye Ja....teeth are sso pure. I hope when im at that age id have such beautiful teeth
It's extremely rare for someone her age to have 'good' teeth that are natural. My maternal grandmother had had all but 1 of her natural teeth when she died at 97 years old , and it was a must she didn't go without her 1 tooth denture even around her family. With modern dentistry one can have perfect teeth without dentures, but implants are costly.

Taking care of your health, and your dental needs are the most vital two things one can do to live a long great life.

It was not a love interest age gap, the gossips talked about JH and Gyeom being close in age and thus suspect.…
LOL. I'm claustrophobic and the close confines weren't so much a problem as the near pitch black in more scenes than not.

I'm sitting here shaking my head at how bad the dif elements were. Anyhoo, on to Chocolate. Have a great night. Much love!!!

Yes, the diappointment of finding out something isn't available, or isn't available in our region is real. I don't use illegal sites either no matter how much I'd like to see something. I just pretend they don't exist. Yes, the challenge is frustrating. I use Viki, Netflix, and Tubi only. When my budget gets pared down more, to reflect our country's rising prices, I'll let Netflix go, THEN maybe Viki, depending.

Yes, I know. That's why I'm watching or rewatching, for the last time unless another OTT picks them up. I finished JDA earlier, again, and need to lower my rating.

Do NOT bother with Manhole unless you'd like to see some in their younger days. I'm halfway and I'd drop it, but I don't usually drop a movie. It's def not for a night watch, not bc of the killings/dark atmosphere but for the angst you'll get for the poor writing. My nights are for anger relief and peace, not for violence.

I've worn The Man from Nowhere out. After I'd finished any drama with KSR as a child, I'd rewatch TMFN afterwards. Some movies stay with you longer than others despite the number of times you've seen it, and since I like action too, I used TMGN as a reference to see how KSR progressed in her talent, instead of the more somber toned A Brand New Life.

I'd bookmarked 13 Assassins and added it here. I'll check 2046. I stopped Manhole long enough to reply, and since I'd already bookmarked Chocolate bc of the synopsis AND your review, it'll be next.

I have what I want to watch arranged in my bookmarks according to what I'll watch next, and when done it gets deleted.....unless I'll def see it again and Tubi is the only legal place TO see it.

I really really do need to make a list just for Tubi bc so many dramas and movies on MDL don't have Tubi listed as an OTT. I use to edit and add if one isn't listed but I've gotten rather lazy.

Yep, yep, yep. I wanted to add Hong Do Hui and Park Seung U's budding relationship would receive criticism if released now, mainly for the reason you gave in your last sentence.

I'm hitting all the Asian dramas/movies that Tubi has on its Leaving Soon list. ASC isn't one of them but it would've been for me had you not written the review. So, thank you!

The writers having the gossips suspecting a nefarious relationship between them reflects the perverted way many people in our society think. If not for fueling a plot I don't think it would've needed to be added.

Even though the drama was 8 years ago, given our current social environment, the viewers' opinions, if released in 2025, would be much worse/more harsh, guaranteed. Too, especially the relationship between Hong Do Hui and Kim Jeong Hye.

There's so little from these 2 writers.

Where was the infidelity as mentioned in the Tag? If it was Lee Byeong Su, then he and Han Su Ji were PRE-Lee Byeong & Kim Jeong Hye. The son is 19 years old which is 9 years before the 10 year marriage. I don't think ASC warrants an Infidelity tag.

ASC having the best sismance in any drama is an understatement. This is what a real supportive friendship looks like.

This is what a real supportive mother & step son relationship looks like.

This is what a potential relationship between a man, who isn't young enough to be her son, and a woman looks like.

This is what getting back at someone who has done wrong to you or someone you're friends with looks like.

I think the failure to understand, that 'avenge' (on behalf of someone else) and 'revenge' (for one's self) doesn't necessarily require doing physical harm to someone, has led many to drop or not start ASC. This drama was done right, in all aspects!!!

I felt so weird how people started shipping Jung hye and Soogyum. There are other relations other than that. Soogyum…
Neither did I. The tendency to jump to pervert relationships says a lot about our society nowadays; a woman turned mother of a step son, a real friendship between 3 women, a teen boy and teen girl brings out the worst in humanity. Sadly, it makes real people hesitant to establish relationships and inhibits people in real life in their relationship with others due to 'how they'll be perceived'.

"The writers could not do math, a 17-year age gap is not small" Which characters? Between Hong Do Hui & Park Seung U or between Kim Jeong Hye & Lee Su Gyeom?

The poster doesn't do ASC justice and I wonder how many put this off or dismiss it entirely bc of it. If not for your review crossing the Feeds I'd probably have dropped it eventually.

Can anyone tell me a drama that gives a similar feeling? The reviews are so disunited that I can't decide and…
Any specific Genre?

When Life Gives You Tangerines 2025. I checked your CW and Completed lists before the recommend.

I rated this highly upon the first watch (a 9), and now after a rewatch my rating has gone up due to appreciating it a lot more (a 10). There are rare Kdramas that one can deem as perfect, and TRS is in the top 5. *reminder to self, wait at least 5 years for a rewatch*

Aside, I've thought more than once that Jang Hee Jin and Lee Tae Sung should be cast as sis/bro in a drama.

Quoting the synopsis:“ Lee Ho Su is a lawyer at a large law firm with a tall appearance and a seemingly carefree…
Being tall for a woman at 5'9" (I've lost 1/2" over the yrs so, 5'8 1/2") it amuses me to see comments about how tall an actor or actors are in a drama, not considering the others are on the shorter side, such as PBY at 5'2". Anyone has a "tall appearance" standing in her vicinity. Subjectively, he isn't tall, as he wouldn't tower over me. *how many times have I chuckled over the obvious height difference between male actors in a drama when both profiles online say they're "6'".

I've had this in PTW for a year and just couldn't make myself start it bc of the casting of the FL (for all the reasons you've stated, and the hesitation seems to be justified. I love sageuks, preferring them over any other Genre, and fortunately, so far, there're 2 that I've given an extremely low score to bc of the writing, but THIS sounds like it would be included IF afterwards I were to watch solely to see just how bad it is per yours and another's honest reviews. Maybe one or two episodes to back, or disagree, with your view would surfice. I haven't read any of the comments; seems to be no need. Thank you for not holding back in your review. Forthright, non-AI generated reviews are very much moreso needed, especially for stinkers that are given a 10 rating.

ps. Viewers don't seem to realize by giving higher ratings to dramas and movies that are subpar/mediocre they're acknowledging they don't deserve better. One gets what one expects. I would love to see the day when "Oh, it's a Kdrama, I'm giving it an automatic 10." are over

PLEASE place comments under a SPOILER if something actually happened, or regarding what a character does, in the drama. Don't be a pleasure thief by depriving others of the pleasure that watching for the first time beings, just like for you.
