Well, 9 & 10 were downhill for me and the FF button got a lot of workout. I simply don't find Sky/Jao compelling and I don't buy that Touch is into dai-ZEE. And now that they are together, the constant flirting and reassuring Nuea has to do to keep Toh from breaking down is repetitious. And what was that tantrum on the floor at the mall supposed to be? Cute? And what, exactly is it that Nuea was supposedly jealous of after that? No one approached Toh and Toh wasn't flirting with anyone, there were just those two annoying girls mewling over Nuea. Lots of seemingly pointless scenes and filler. Glad Jao finally dropped the sulking act; it was wearing thin. All caught up.

Ep. 9: Wow. This show had the opportunity to blow a tired old BL trope wide open, but chickened out at the last second and went with the conventional top/bottom labels. So "bottoms" are inept at kissing necks and ears...or something...wtf?
Touch is gorgeous and sweet. I don't buy his affection for dai-ZEE for one second. It's never been explained why he made a show of going after Toh earlier.
Still with the abrupt scene cuts. This show gets really erotic at times but pulls the rug when it comes down to the real deal every time. All the hot talk and smooching is a tease, nothing more.
Finally...what is with the SLOOOOOOW dialogue delivery and endless pauses between lines in conversation? It is so unnatural and distracting. A person says something, everyone looks at each other and makes faces or whatever, we get a sound effect, then finally the next character might respond, but very...slowly. It's like watching at half-speed.
I dragged out the FF button again.

But I DO think you're wrong and have every right to say so. Lots of people challenge the assertions of other commenters here. It's called discussion/debate.

Why are you commenting about this again? I thought you said you were done. I don't agree about a lot of things you say and the fact that you see me saying so as "correcting" you is your issue, not mine. You know as well as I do that my beefs with you are 1. your inability to distinquish a live-action adaptation from the novel it was based on and 2. your eagerness to deliberately share spoilers in your desperation to prove your theories.

Well, april, perhaps you SHOULDN'T do things out of spite. And maybe you shouldn't deliberately spoil episodes for people who YOU KNOW haven't seen them yet. You think it's "rude" to disagree with another's comment, especially when that person insists on continuing to refer to their having read the novel as though the novel is the script for the series. I get it; you have a thing about trans peopel; you're a crusader. I do not care about your crusade, I care about the story I've been told on the SCREEN and the conclusions I've drawn to this point. And most of my comments to you were along the lines of THIS ISN'T THE NOVEL, THIS IS THE SERIES! because you still struggle to make the distinction.

I wonder how many things in the series you may have MIS-interpreted because you are expecting it to religiously follow the details of the novel. Just a thought...

Because you keep referring to the novel as though it is the series and they are two different things. And a hearty f**k you for spoiling yet another episode for me when you know full-well I haven't seen it. I think you're doing it intentionally out of spite.

No, I have not watched 9 yet. Not going to argue but I have known flamboyant gay guys who like to called she/her at times just kind of for fun or as an ironic thing. I'm sure Touch is going to go after dai-ZEE but I don't buy it as an actual thing that would happen IRL. All of these hot, conventional straight young men going gay for the Pride Posse's roster of screamers just is NOT plausible. BUT I'm suspending disbelief aggressively and just rolling with it. We are in an entirely different and very gay universe here.

THIS IS NOT THE NOVEL! It is an adaptation and anything can happen. I think Nuea is completely aware of Toh's obsession but I'm basing that on what I've seen in this series on the screen, not on anything else. I usually snort when people start a comment with "well, in the novel..." THIS IS NOT THE NOVEL.

That would be hard to believe. He's already been pretty clear that he wouldn't be surprised by such a thing at all, especially in reference to him letting Toh know he is aware of the stalking/photos period.

But this is an adaptation and it's been made clear dai-ZEE is a dude. Which is why he could have peed in the bushes and went into the men's restroom before he wet his pants. lol Live-action adaptations are only BASED ON a novel, they almost NEVER adhere to it in every detail. I almost always wait until after seeing an adaptation to read the source material because then I'm completely open to the adaptation for what it IS, not what I EXPECT it to be.

And there have been many times i've seen a feature film after having earlier read the novel on which it was based, and I've almost always been disappointed and annoyed. That doesn't happen when I do the reverse.

I've been talking about it and totally agree. I mention it again in my spoiler review of ep 8 above. He is gorgeous and when he smiles I get wet. 😁😁😁 Thing is...don't you agree he looks a lot like Billy? Which is why Toh mistook him a ways back for Nuea when he had his glasses off. Billy and Opp would be awesome casting to play brothers in another show. I'm thinking maybe an incest thing would be hot. Sorry, I tend to perv out...

For anyone who gives a shit, my reactions to episode 8 are under the spoiler button below. Those of you who encouraged me to keep slogging through eps 1 through about 5 and a half were right...miracles really do happen. I'm kind of into this thing. :P

Episode 8: OK...the impossible has happened: I wont lie, I'm all in. Much of this remains absurd regarding plot and characterizations but some really fine acting and improved writing has gotten my finger not only OFF the FF button, but nowhere near it. :)

I hope Prao has a redemption arc. She is so so beautiful. Those huge eyes are breath-taking. She's a future Miss Thailand.

Someone mentioned below and I will repeat: I am so impressed with Billy and Seng as actors for completely inhabiting their characters and giving no f**ks about being perceived as gay for future roles or some such bullshit. Especially regarding Billy, because he is the more traditional "leading man" type of the two who might be concerned about losing out on future straight roles by not only taking THIS role, but giving it his all. He is incredibly impressive. He above all, is the reason I am buying into this show at this point. He makes me believe that Nuea actually not only loves Toh, but loves and enjoys his quirks and oddities as well. He teases Toh relentlessly but it never feels mean. That is not easy to pull off. I see in his eyes that he means every word he says to Toh. This actor is going places. This is a silly BL but I think will have major impact on his career. Beautiful, talented and committed: what's not to like?

Something about Toh's physicality in relation to Nuea, from a casting perspective, continues to bug me. As much as Billy makes me believe his feelings for Toh are real, there's something about them together as a couple that doesn't quite work for me. Just an observation, not really a complaint.

I hope to soon see Toh start to man-up and begin to shower Nuea with the tenderness, signs of affection and loving treatment from a place of more and more confidence. The shrinking violet act is wearing thin but I think we're starting to see it fade too. :) Nuea deserves to be held and protected and whispered to just as much as does Toh. It would be nice to see that happen.

Loving the nasty/dirty sex-talk metaphors that are starting to fly around, lol That last cookout scene with Toh and Nuea was hysterically funny and hot. Again, not an easy thing to do.

What else...Hey! I want some justice for Som. She is such a sweetie to her Pride Posse Boys but I'd love to see her start getting some straight-girl attention from some hot dude. She is funny as hell and a good actress too...there have been many emotional moments where she was ALL there. I love her vibe...it would be nice to see her get her due...assuming she IS straight. If not a hot chick will work too. :D

Ahhh...my Sky. Why do I love his strangely handsome face so much? Plot-wise I don't believe he and Jao as a realistic thing to be happening either, but he is so there in the character that in the moment I DO believe it.
I get we're doing a body-positivity thing in the presentation of Jao as "chubby" but honestly, I don't think he is. He has some baby-fat in his cheeks, but that's going to go away and I don't see any belly on him at all. I said before, I thought he looked hot in his after-shower towel at home. nice arms a firm torso...not everyone needs a six-pack to be hot.

Further back, one of my laugh out-loud moments was when Toh and Nuea were in bed as Nuea pretended to be asleep in the morning and Toh carefully counted his six-pack from 1 to 6 and then had one of his slow-motion, Marilyn Monroe seizures with the Joker smile thrown in. lol

Beautiful Touch going after dai-ZEE is going to be even MORE challenging to buy into, but what the hell, I'll go with it. lol, can't believe they showed dai-ZEE wet her pants. hahaha All in terror of a gheko! lol

OK...I'm watching this on YT, so there are no cuts, correct? If so, they did it again: Up in the barracks or whatever that sleeping area is called, after Toh ate the magic mushrooms, things got REALLY hot and bothered and than...WHAM...it's the next day and everyone's out caulking the gutters as if nothing happened again. I'm not getting that they did it, that's the thing...I would think there'd be a massive change in the vibe between them and one of them or both would be limping but nada. What's up? What am I not getting?

Also: InTouch is...stunning. That smile. Good god does he have his eye on dai-ZEE?!

Why aren't the letting Toh get that shirt off? I'm telling you, these Thai boys are deceiving: they look like skin and bones and then the shirt comes off and they've got amazing pecs. I think it's a genetic tendency toward super low body-fat among Asians in general, but damn is it nice. And you can tell in that wet tee that Toh is hiding a sculpted chest. I say "off with that damn shirt!"

Toh looked SO handsome when he finally dropped that hideous smile after Nuea's confession at the waterfall and just looked at him with sincerity and affection and amazement. Ugh. That smile has been driving me nuts the entire time. It's a combination pursed lips/The Joker smile and it's annoying. I hope it's gone for good. :)

Note to costumer: people do not paint, caulk, do carpentry, etc. in spotless, clean, nice clothing. They wear sweats and old jeans and such and would have paint and such all over them. Except for dai-ZEE. He can where whatever he has designed for the day.

The "aunties" are another, unneeded, heavy dose of additional, extreme stereotyping. And someone please help me out: are the "aunties" trans or cross-dressers or some of both? Whatever they are to me it's more Minstrel Show trope and it's unneccesary. They are also always presented as sexless: there's never a BF or anyone else sniffing around.

Toh and Nuea making out against that closed gate: HOT.
