No wonder the aesthetics were extremely good... I've only seen Yin Yang Master, the visuals were stunning.

In that drama, it's the usual childish and naive fairy/spirit who turns out to be some lost goddess or princess, it doesn't display complex emotions... it's enough to have a cute face and some decent acting to pull it off. Not here, in my journey to you, the emotions are too complex and she needs to be convincing as someone "hiding her true purpose" while struggling with the stress, old memories, traumas,etc. She did very well, brava! I'm always happy when I see people acting well lol!

she's hands down a great actress. Her role in love between fairy and devil was good but didn't show all her potential. Here, she's nailing it, she gives a whole new vibe, as if she was a different person/actress. I hope to see more of her especially that she's very talented, others with less than half of her talent are "big names" always cast in big productions, I wish her all the best, I'll be waiting for any work from her, 100% support, I love it when I see talented women.

He's actually a deity who's going through tribulations and because he defended the god war in heaven, he'll be "condemned" to never become a deity again. So through his tribulations, he became a human then a demon.

You can add that too...however the male leads seem to be doing fine, the celestial king as well, even that princess (from some ocean, I forgot her name), is doing well... so even when the writing is bad, the demeanor of the actor can show his/her good preparation. She does look a bit less mediocre than in Chongzi (but still mediocre) because it seems she was coached for acting... I think her management company should have been easy on her and prepare her well after the journey of Chongzi fiasco, not sign her up for more dramas where she's FL, she's not ready yet.

She's definitely not the only mediocre actress out there, she just got more heat for whatever reason (is the story from some popular novel and people are sick and tired of their favorite novels ruined by bad acting?).

Yes, I've seen than Tan Jian Ci was an idol and I don't mind (see, I looked him up because when I saw his performance in LYF, I was impressed how he doesn't miss a single gaze of his eyes, so top-notch acting there) , he's really good. I know her agency will try to get whatever money is out there so again, nothing personal against her, may she have a lot of success and money, but one thing is sure, I won't watch another series starring her, bad acting ruins even the best stories.

I like the story but man... this FL didn't change, I was willing to give her another chance after The Catastrophic-Journey of Chong zi but it is what it is... I do get she's beautiful but her agency must give her more acting classes or smth, if not, I don't know how it works in China, can't she just be a model and gain shitload of money?

I see... I understand your frustration now because at first, I wasn't sure why you were irritated. What makes me worried more is this turning toxic to actors like what happen to Xiao Zhan in "the untamed", that was "too wild" for me, they almost ruined his career.

I hope everybody will calm down a bit and stick to characters, leaving the actors alone. I'm definitely biased to XL because of different personality traits he displayed that were the most complex and layered among most all of them : I like layered stories and layered characters in general, I also love the demonic characters because in my local mythology, they're known for being cunning and ruthless but they're also known for their extreme loyalty and if they're in love with you, nothing is impossible so I was also enjoying the similarities with my own culture, by watching a chinese version of a demon. Also, the game of the actor was SPOT ON, he didn't miss it by one gaze, one gesture but my bias isn't toward him, I fair and square appreciate his talent, his looks are "normal" to my eyes (unlike Xu Zhengxi that I find extremely sexy to the point that I'm able to watch crap like journey of Chongzi only to see him play his role lol).

It was never the reason why this character got my interest, I'm not into vampires and I know that he's a snake demon, to each his mythology
