Agreed about the revenge plot lacks weightage. But guess the director is trying to show a misplace anger and a kid being manipulated into revenge at a young age. The use of child’s grief at young age. Wu Xie tried to use his adopted child, but he is smarter and ran away so he picked Tong Shuang who seems to have fixation since young. But as a young child, it’s really hard to believe his resentment can be so strong to maintain the hate for revenge.

Wow, this hypotheses do make sense and everything came to full circle.
I have a strong gut feel that Poison Valley Master is part of it but it just surprise me that they needed the formula from BeiHai and since they are the expert, they still couldn’t figure out the formula.
