The costume is true to the Ming dynasty, and what HanYan wore for wedding was extravagant and elegantly beautiful.

This drama has change some elements. I will share the key points of this drama plot: in the end Hun Dun Zhu retained all her memories from Ah Zhu but is Mu XuanLing and she marries the reborn Xie Xue Chen with Zhao Ming’s memories but not Zhao Ming.
In the novel story, Mu Xuan Ling regain Ah Zhu’s memories, Zhao Ming and Xie Xue Chen merges and become the demon lord of abyss, so she marries him. Technically no difference for ML in the novel as whether it’s Zhao Ming, Xie Xuan Chen, they are all fragment of one person. And the reborn MXL accepted him as it is.

She had to sleep through worst in her younger days. Her trauma threshold and resilience is very high.

Hahah….thats what I said in the beginning about ML. Although he make clear of his intention towards FL, his behaviour is such ‘green tea’ towards her🤣😍.

She is not evil, she represents the product of ignorant and lack of far sightedness, constantly trouble by societal view towards women. I find it interesting that the imperial physician is female, but it make sense as she is the pointed doctor for the Empress.

Depending on how you defined annoying. ep 17-18, has some tragic moments then ep19-21 is partnership between ML and FL, which quite fun and exciting to watch.

The Fu’s aunty conflicts on FL is probably a plot device to show how ML will stand up to protect her and that’s probably the director’s way of showing romance in protection. But I agreed with the romance tag in this drama, we haven’t really see much romance and it’s only 9 ep left😓.

This author is really focusing on the tradition women’s rights, which is a very common topic that often being brought into discussion in such drama plots, however I like how the story come together. Nicely written.

Interesting first case that the partner in crimes work together…truly can be merciless and scrupulous in method.

She has a tragic life😭.

The way the story was told, it feels like ML married his first wife out of family obligation and he doesn’t have much love. With his second marriage, I am excited to see how this two fall in love.

Ep 19 is good especially when ML came to steal the bride.

Thanks for the sharing😘. I was also reading some other comments here, and I am likely going to skip this. What you said so far won’t be something I enjoy. The plot, the characterization and feels some miscasting there😅. If you are continuing this, hope you enjoy while it progresses.

My only interest is because ML is a good actor, however if the story and leads’ characters are 😑 boring, I may just watch it much later.
I am focusing on The Glory, CDL actually has a breakthrough in her acting for that drama. Story is coherent and quite fast pace, filled with twists, no dull moment. IMO, can try;)
