Enjoyed this movie a lot! It’s with good meaningful message that ought be watched by anyone or everyone for better appreciation of life and people around. Everything didn’t happen on its own or bcos of one person’s greatness but due to the sacrifices of others ard them that contributes to it, as every little thing could intervene with other people’s lives.
Also like how the movie re-quote Jim Carey’s famous words (I seriously haven’t heard of it before this…so I googled it up after this movie): “I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it's not the answer.” This is so true…sometimes human have tendency to neglect the simplest things in life could be the best thing in life!
This movie made me tear up in between…good reflection of life and probably at different stages of life wld appreciate this movie with different views and standpoint as we look back from how far we’ve gone while pondering what could’ve went differently at some point in life.
First watched KSW many yrs back in movie, My Tutor Friend…and he still is as charming in the movie, with great emotions portraying ML in this movie. The beauty of Korean production I do feel is at the start his character can be despicable but along the lines there’s good transition and he’s the star (ofc since he’s the ML here) but hey the acting is good chemistry with FL. Worth watching : )
tiffany is worth to watch.I realy hate roy chiu's character because of his blind belief for that ex girlfriend.I…
Try to watching Roy Chiu in Man in Love (2021 movie) he won the best actor and also win the heart of the main female lead in the same movie…so career achievement and got himself a beautiful & capable wife! Worth watching his diverse acting after many yrs of experience now : )
Feeling strange why the FL’s husband is ugly (no offence but his character does look old and out of shape) and yet have an affair with 2FL; while the ML is a cute guy yet his beau 2FL ‘jump ship’…
Have a crazy thinking after watching this…if ugly guys also have infidelity (gone are the days where guys with more ‘safer’ looks are more loyal in relationships), then better go for cute guys as even if they have infidelity (in the end of marriage or somewhere down the road in life) at least the other half won’t feel too hurt right…so the guy is cute which might be a player…lol😂
Pls excuse me for having pen down such crazy thoughts…
Any idea where to watch this even if without subs? Bcos I’ve watched the raw up to Episode 7 but got stuck as no more Episode 8,9 and 10 :(( didn’t realize last episode is 10 so am feeling awful not knowing the ending of this. Mind sharing if you may know ya?
There are many dramas about husband being a cheater instead of the wife though…for example The Fierce Wife (Taiwanese…
Me too…I don’t like infidelity plotlines…as it’s worrisome when studies shown our mind is powerful to transmit messages to the universal to attract whatever we think! But then again, it’s also contradicting that when watching it for entertainment or perhaps exposure to the topic, probably when we know what’s happening or could happen out there, then only we can avoid it from landing onto us or to avoid ourselves turning into just like them…lol
seeing your sad emoji…can pls spoil me on the ending, did either one of the main leads died?
OMG😵🤣…this is so touching…I was having goosebumps (too touched that can feel it thru my nerves, really!) when reading this couple’s real life story. I do know some movies and drama got their inspirations from real story but never did I expect this 8yrs waiting period and endless support from bridge-groom-to-be is real!!!
Thankss very much for sharing the article. Am happy to know true love still exist and this couple is blessed with it.
Not it’s not common practice in China nor Asian countries which values seniority (if may noticed in Korea juniors…
True…it’s sad when going thru the aftermath of watching. So usually I wld go into checking out the drama’s BTS and interviews to appreciate their hardwork while gradually move attention span to somewhere else…lol
There are many dramas about husband being a cheater instead of the wife though…for example The Fierce Wife (Taiwanese…
Can I understand that you’re meaning to say most drama are inclined towards the wife/ female character being oppressed or submissive to husband/ male character, hence they embark on the cheating with another.
While this drama is showing from the husband/ male character if it’s the other way round, him being submissive hence went into cheating or affairs.
TBH, I haven’t watch this drama fully (just chanced upon some short clips on YT) so can’t tell the difference in details…but guess the world has changed, tht now drama/ movie production also trying to show a different light abt today’s marriages.
This drama was interesting. This was the first drama I’ve seen where the husband cheats because the wife was…
There are many dramas about husband being a cheater instead of the wife though…for example The Fierce Wife (Taiwanese drama) is a good watch (but to note, the wife wasn’t fierce at all, to me she’s just too nice of a housewife that strangely the husband went astray with infidelity) and many more (can’t really think of now..if you’re interested can pm you later) :P
At first thot this is another teacher-student romance genre but boy I was wrong! Didn’t expect it was way much different that the original first version I ever watched abt this genre in JDrama namely Majo No Jouken (MNJ). There are much more plot lines and side characters having fuller background story of comparison to tht.
I enjoy how the drama having more content (not just limiting to teacher-student relationships) but also explore abt motherly love, parents marriage, peer & society pressure, corporate ladders lucrative returns, single parental, etc…(touching a bit on society views of incestuous relationships, cheaters in love, distorted love, fetish)…and yet main leads chemistry is good. Sounds like a lot to digest right…lol…but the directing and drama production is just right, giving us audience bit by bit which makes it easy to follow and appreciate the twist at the ending part.
*Spoiler ahead…(can stop reading if don’t wanna know abt the ending ya)
Also because of this twist it does create somewhat contrast tht whoever who thinks 2ML being a bachelor, high paid (okay he’s a director position in the role hence surely higher pay than non earning yet student ML) decent looking person is a better candidate/ suitor for FL to be in love with if in comparisons to ML who’s under his mama’s strict-monitoring-cum-rebellious-student..Things aren’t always what it looks like on the surface!
But then again for those who could not stand their age gap between teacher and student romance…I personally think it isn’t too obvious here as at a glance (okay TBH in many many scenes) FL looking kinda same age with ML…not sure if it’s bcos he looks matured for his age or probably FL well maintained and aged gracefully so the age gap thingy wasn’t as obvious…especially once ML changed into normal casual wear, without his uniform on, it’s not easy to tell he’s so much younger than FL (12yrs in real life, same as the storyline…although he’s 26 when acting this role) One funny thing to share, I’ve seen the BTS and if you guys seen how the bed scene was filmed…ML was a tattoo lover and his body with all tattoos on it when he’s on top of FL looks more intimidating or less convincing FL is older than him, it’s as though FL is his prey in the BTS instead of the other way round(!) No wonder production team needs to do a lot of editing work with after-shooting effect to digitally erase his tattoos. (Pls don’t get me wrong…as myself having residing few yrs in western countries, I’ve nothing against tattoos and I fully understand it’s can be a form of body art and/ or way of expression for any individual but just isn’t suitable to been seen on ML for this drama ya).
(Side tracked) On the other hand, the other Jdrama MNJ clearly shows the age gap whereby the ML in MNJ is just 17yrs old when filming and FL in MNJ really 25yrs old in real life…so it’s really underage! So at some point when watching it really was taboo bcos seeing a young boy’s infatuation manifesting into love for his sensei. But now fast forward to this drama bcos ML already 25yrs old it doesn’t seem too much of a thingy for me. So sometimes it’s a matter of timing…(hmm…wld anyone bother if it’s not schooling time as background setting, no more underage limitation) and I appreciate the scripts in this drama the part the dad was telling his son (ML) tht these days of today’s generation how would there be anyone giving up their love because of family objections…and this is how society is opening up their mindsets.
It does strike a thought to me…isn’t being in love has got to do with both party in love and together both able to encourage each other to be a better self, and this not necessarily needs to be relating to age bcos age doesn’t equal to maturity nor does it equal to mutual respect. Can’t help but watching this drama remembering my ex-classmate who picked a guy of her age to date during high school but ended up she was pregnant and unable to continue her studies due to it…so same age doesn’t mean it’s surely compatible and with age gap doesn’t mean it would be incompatible. And all love wld have friction at some point and it’s a matter of willingness to make things work out together, and only those who are in it will know if it’s worthwhile.
Just hope anyone who watches this drama can be non judgmental and will then enjoy the show while feeling the drama’s message within : )
Was checking out for new movie or drama and chanced upon Lesson In Love (2023 TW production) and can’t stop…
Of course after rewatching this drama recently, I do feel and agree certain plotlines could be written in more rationalize manner (especially when main leads keep trying to validate their love isn’t infatuation but love and reacting in a certain way regardless it’s against Asian society’s acceptance level…anyways, now it is still against society values but at least not as bad as last time that people will shun you off from being employed… since society has a lot of other problems that getting caught up with)
But then again, this is a 1999 production and certainly a lot of viewpoints and mindset has changed along these years. Hence, this ending could be rewritten in a different perspective for now.
Was checking out for new movie or drama and chanced upon Lesson In Love (2023 TW production) and can’t stop noticing the storyline is quite similar (not exactly the same due to different plot arrangements and side stories) to this, Maju No Jouken (MNJ). So IMHO, MNJ was a good story told, otherwise how else will after 24yrs the almost similar plotline is being produced again…either production team lost of ideas or this is really thought-provoking topic that’s a taboo until today.
My msg here is just wishing to do some little justice by speak out (okay writing out) as noticed quite a lot of msg here seeming to despice this drama which was indeed a best seller back then and even now this topic isn’t tiresome as for all we know it could be real life story happening around us throughout many generations. Probably it’s high time to understand that age is just a number and maturity depends on each individual’s upbringing and experience in life…so being a below 18yrs old student doesn’t justify he/ she as an immature person without any rational thinking nor being above 18yrs by crossing this age border will mean he/ she will suddenly be an overnight profound thinker and will act wisely thereon. Of course having said tht, the law prohibits underage individuals with certain restrictions which is how the societal backbone is built on. But along these years, many things has changed and most come to realize that juvenile can be sneaky as well and aren’t as naive as we think they are, while adults can be foolish and can also fall as prey to younger people.
Just hope to be respectful of the love of any human towards one another…everyone has their own preference and most importantly to be responsible to one’s own choice and action, will do regardless of age.
On a separate note, am thinking wow…Japan production house no wonder they’re well known for dark topics for movie & drama…imagine after more than two decades this topic is reproduced again (!) by TW this time around. But of course also to note Kmovie also did have similar topics few yrs back…
seeing your sad emoji…can pls spoil me on the ending, did either one of the main leads died?
OMG…your descriptive writing of the moments in the movie really makes my heart tick…ya I do wanna watch this movie xD thankss very muchie
P.S. somehow what you wrote also reminds me of The Beauty Inside whereby the ML physical identity changes frequently and needs to keep re-introduce himself to FL each time they meet again.

Other comedy romance movie I enjoyed as well are such Wonderful Nightmare, Okay! Madam. Hope you may like it too : )
