ya can’t help but agree with you! :) am making reference to similar Hollywood movie genre such as No Strings…
My PS Partner was a fun watch, and one of my favorite as it has a good combination of comedy and romance…ya it’s been a while since I last watched it, am thinking of rewatching after you’ve mentioned :P Thanks and any other similar can recommend ya?
I sometimes wonder to what extent do actors/actresses (esp. in China it seems) have to be PERFECT in order not…
Talking about this…even tax evasion can cause any actors/ actresses to be out of the business (their govt there will close all their ties and shut down resources that’s acquainted to them!) such as the famous incident of Fang Bing Bing, Deng Lun (for all I can remember for now). Sad huh…things are quite restricted there and goes strictly by the law…
OMG…thanks for sharing. was really looking forward to his other productions.
Hmm…wonder why lately so many recordings and/ or video clips of this and that…seems like anyone who’s going to be famous or famous gets pulled down with scandals. The celebrity world is really complicated…just read some online news about past few weeks two Korean celebrities committed suicide, probably all these stress causing most to suffer such suicidal depression 🥺 They are normal humans like us too…Just don’t get it if it’s the innate nature for anyone to see another person suffering could excite them or what
The fact that the two leads get married in real life made me want to see their chemistry in this drama.
yea…marriage after starring in this drama does convince us to watch their drama chemistry…am looking forward but cannot find any source with subs. Mind sharing if you managed to find ya? : )
It was actually fun. I mean cheesy and all you understand what will happen from the start and shit but who cares…
ya can’t help but agree with you! :) am making reference to similar Hollywood movie genre such as No Strings Attached, Friends with Benefits, Love and Other Drugs…(whereby all started with casual encounters) and these movies’ endings also just ended abruptly (not the happily ever after forever -the typical kind of ending-but main leads ending up together just like this) so it’s just fair to rate KMovie accordingly to its genre
It’s a good watch…like how the ending ML narrative saying ‘if you’re not happy now, it will be the same anywhere else…’ very true indeed so quoting what he said earlier somewhere in the movie, ‘our mission in life is not to take revenge but to find happiness…’ and this tells how love happens when least expected in this movie : )
This mini drama has attention capturing scenes…just a few moments of their YT clips caught my attention to binge it (yea it’s just few hours so why not…) and it’s surprisingly a good watch!
ML is an eye candy (wow…his jawline is so well defined that shows his masculine side even by standing still at a corner or something…) and his acting is okay good enuf (better micro-expressions than FL) for me to binge it (hope to see him in more productions).
FL is okay too…like how she looks in the Shanghai-Bund-style-era (she’s young and guess the script is for her to be a young girl coming back to seek revenge, hence even if she didn’t show much of the women charms while in some of the outfits it didn’t really matter as it paves way for best part I think when the little girl in orphanage asking who’s her bf and calling her sister while calling 2ML Grandpa…and that was a good stark contrast!) 2ML although didn’t like his bad character but he acted well in it, convincingly good micro-expressions.
Chemistry is good and they seem to make full use of both main leads good features to create those tension of wanting to almost kiss! However, IMHO am a bit disappointed with the kisses (most real kiss is a dreamland or imaginary for the script), thought the main leads will finally kiss in the end when all is well and love is in the air but it’s just eye gazes to exchange their deep love for each other (I’m totally fine with subtle love but when in dreamland can kiss instead in their real scripted life no real kiss then am finding it weird) I think they have gone thru life and death close escape for few rounds and to share a deep kiss isn’t too much (the main leads doesn’t look like they’re against kissing scenes since there are a few inside the drama)…so strange way to present the drama. Guess that’s the difference between big production vs smaller production…the logics of scenes are being amiss.
And if talking abt logics, better leave it somewhere locked behind our minds when watching this…bcos some scenes is really lacking in logics. Such as how can a highly alert ML (he’s like an undercover seeking to bust the bad guys and redeem his lover’s family revenge) but when almost going to be BBQ to death in the warehouse still got time to declare his love and keep dwelling on it despite the main pressing matter is to escape the fire together! That seems like those olden days production script to switch comedy mode for slapstick effect…lol… and another part on picnic after repairing the car was kinda weird, isn’t ML worrying about how his so-called-father is curious of him being fake son and there he is risking his life to have a good time with his beloved girl…hmm…
Oh well, but the chemistry is good…the near kisses, loving gaze and body gestures…after all it’s just abt 6hrs of watch and it’s one of the rare good watch for drama of this smaller scale yet budget seemingly not too low either (the costume doesn’t look bad at all, hairstyles are good and correctly followed back the era, car props are excellent in use, the background architecture mansion & location is nice!) and I like the OST as it creates good atmosphere and go along to emphasize the storyline (can find in YT if interested). Enjoy! ^^
seeing your sad emoji…can pls spoil me on the ending, did either one of the main leads died?
aww…this is really heartbreaking…suddenly just reminds me of another western movie about Alzheimer and also my friend’s mother passed away not long after battling it. Thanks for the heads up…at least knw what to expect.
I’ve been waiting for long for this drama to finish full release as wanting to binge in one go…now that it’s…
Aww…that sounds perfect for watch…am kinda tired of the jumpy teenage love get head over heels in romance as though life only revolves ard love and no other obligations or commitments in life (most of some Cdrama nowadays doesn’t show work stuffs as the content entirely on love, love, love…lol)
Will surely watch this—fast fwd top in my list now. Thankss so much for your reply ^^
Being a fan of fantasy genre…I tried watching this seeing the title to do with dreams but got totally confused from beginning to the end. Let’s say FL action in real life whatever ML dreams on regardless how absurd his dreams are…but hey how did both of them connect to each other(?!)…should have somewhat explanation to this right or did I missed something (any past life connection or under some spell??) when fast forwarding the movie to finish within 15mins (I didn’t want to just drop it, so fwding at least not letting it go just like tht…lol) but it’s inexplicable ending that makes me question if it’s my understanding or just way too deep too artistic for general people like me 🤔 anyone who gets the meaning of this movie, mind sharing a bit?
I’ve been waiting for long for this drama to finish full release as wanting to binge in one go…now that it’s…
Correction: I’ve checked back my records and I nearly forgotten of having watched her other non period drama works…probably it didn’t strike a strong impression for my memory to be lasting.
A 40 episode drama that is worth every watch. Matured characters, realistic storylines, beautiful scenes, an all…
I’ve been waiting for long for this drama to finish full release as wanting to binge in one go…now that it’s all out there I’m undecided if to start. As you’ve rated 10/10 can pls spoil me if the ending was happy (our fav LYF have a happy romance at the end) and it’s worth watching…since it’s full 40 episodes to finish it all…just wanna be sure where am heading to…lol
I’ve only watched LYF in period dramas where she did all her beautiful fighting scenes and only one modern world in the movie with her ex-beau (hence excellent chemistry). So am nt too sure if she managed to pull it thru for this modern background setting with slow burner plotlines…fingers crossed as she’s my all time period drama main lead : )
Agree with you that director should show FL working on her differences with new beau (ML) and not just jump into…
Yes it’s categorized as ‘mature’ genre and not just romance & drama, with tagging of ‘extreme sexual content’ but like you said, you must’ve missed it.
Guess it’s to each their own….and sadly you didn’t enjoy this drama and feeling insulted. Hope you have better luck next time in finding shows of your liking : )
Just watched…it truly brings out the saying of ‘grass is greener at the opposite side of the fence’…every marriage storyline being explored in this drama seems plagued with marital problems of its own…everyone seems to be finding ways either to escape, numb it while some ignores the problem with short term pleasures. Didn’t really think the s*x scenes (be forewarned its 18+ content!) were made to be glorified but instead does feel there’s a need to be acted out in the drama (or else how to show their s*xual tension built up to justify each character’s helplessness and being wronged in their position of life to jump into infidelity).
The only supposed most logical and shipped romance wld be main leads…just that I wasn’t too sure how ML could fall in love with FL when he claims he respect and admire her since very beginning when she was his sister’s life savior but how come he didn’t go looking for her back then? It’s not too logic if someone saved your sis and got injured but you didn’t pay her a visit nor pay for her treatment or check if the property’s building insurance of the fallen glass can pay for both his sis and FL’s injury right…so weird the kind of admiration or appreciation he has for FL’s good deed back then. However, their chemistry together is nice and their micro expressions is good.
Although i must say the ex-husband’s acting is well acted out, hence really dislike his character…but I somehow cannot comprehend how the almost ending part where FL decided to help out his ex-husband (since he decided can divorce so let’s just call him the EX!) when he was such badass jerk that abuses her yet proclaiming that’s his insecurity and all along affairs with practically everyone or anyone he can lay his hands on is so-called love for FL!!! I cannot buy into this part of the script…I also have an acquaintance who her husband abuses her until the extent she calls it quits (report to police!) and she never wanna see his face again regardless is living or dead…so this FL helping out her ex seems like trying to match back her character portrayed here (a kind person regardless if people hurts you badly!) which seems lame for reality doesn’t work this way. Hope director isn’t thinking this would encourage the world to be a better place for ex(s) to help one another, especially when it involves family abuse I shan’t think it’s excusable regardless for whatever reason it’s causing the offender to do it! Abusers mentality have deeper distorted roots that we know, and in reality if going back to help him wld be expose to vulnerability again! Leave it to the experts—just get a psychologist for him!
That being said, overall just like how the editing was done…especially the Episode 7 whereby FL was being abused by her ex (still husband back then) and the next minute before credit rolls, there’s quick insert of the once happy time where both cuddles together proclaiming their love for one another…it’s stark contrast of how bad the love had turned into from loving to abusive and that part really tearjerker for me as to imagine how a good romance can become such toxic relationship despite having gone thru so many (working together for business, etc) things in life.
Watchable drama…kudos for JDrama production tackling such dark topics as easily to either like it or loathe it…but probably many can resonate with either one of the few ladies relationship, as in today’s society marital issues is just a stone’s throw away…it can happen to anyone, at any stage of the marriage, or anywhere (regardless of which part of the world…divorce rates are increasingly higher than birth rates in most developed & developing countries!) even when least expected…
After watching The Glory, this still wins as the most twisted revenge story. Nothing beats this on how convoluted…
Really? This is even better than The Glory? : ) Mind sharing some spoilers if the ending is good (since it’s a revenge short drama so did main lead manage to succeed in the revenge plan?)
Agree with you that director should show FL working on her differences with new beau (ML) and not just jump into…
One thing I beg to differ…this show isn’t garbage! It’s purely impudence if to disregard the effort taken by the writers/ directors as there are messages within that shouldn’t be striped off due to FL’s character setting here.
There are two FL…one who’s flexible while the other(SHJ) is totally opposite who’s rigid. Despite SHJ’s perseverance to stay on in the relationship, she’s obviously lacking in communication from the beginning and unable to speak out her needs and real thoughts. However in the end at least she spoken out her wants to get a breather before jumping into another new relationship which is a small step but yet she did it! This is just a short drama, hence wasn’t expecting director to be able to squeeze all the content to clearly show how much growth she can possibly make within 8 short episodes…but it’s refreshing to know girls of today can have the freedom to make changes (stepping out of a bitter relationship) and trying to be a better person before loving someone.
Hope you can see or feel the bright side of this drama instead of dwelling on what’s lacking.
And surely most audience will realize this is a show after all, so if wanting more realistic world why not look back into our daily lives it’s all there isn’t it…as Kdrama or Cdrama is a form of entertainment, sometimes can be with valuable message, however romcom such as this should be a fun watch after all : )
Agree with you that director should show FL working on her differences with new beau (ML) and not just jump into…
Hmm…I can see your point, it makes sense to think she might risk having same problem with her new beau (ML). Probably that’s why ML keep saying to her in some scenes asking her to share her thoughts as he wants to know what she really thinks, in hope of working things out between both of them for couplehood.
Communication is indeed very important in every relationship, regardless loving ones or even parental love or other family related relationships. : )
