I feel that a very important development in Xu Si and Jiang Hu's love story was the business compromise he started making for her... Two instances when he tried to help Jiang Hu first by getting her more time for presentation of her performance report, second by asking Ms.Song of TT media to break her contract with zhaoyang because Jiang Hu wanted her as a designer... Both instances were out of norm for him... Xu si who doesn't let emotions get in the way of business for anyone is making such a huge compromise for Jiang Hu this shows his sincerity... I guess on some level xu si also understands the reason she is hesitant is not personal but related to her company.

Things are going quite well for 20 episode mark, we still have 20 more for them to grow closer... Even Ms. Song of T T media realised Xu Si is in love with Jiang Hu.

I agree with your thoughts on failure.....all successful people have tasted defeat at some point and the people who take failure as a challenge and fight back have been the most successful people.

Just try to understand the bare minimum of the business side and focus on the more enjoyable side of the story, both love stories are progressing quite well... Xu Si was very honest about his feelings and desire to date Jiang Hu.. Jiang Hu is attracted to him but hesitating because of business.

Gao Yi did not do anything to Zhaoyang, breaking down of the taxi was pure accident.

1.we were not shown the man coughing in the washroom but I believe it was Gao Yi's sick father whom we keep seeing in the hospital... Gao Yi was called on the phone because probably a nurse informed him that his father's condition was worsening.

2. Everyone believed that Gao Yi was an orphan living with Jiang Hu 's family... So zhaoyang was wondering how does he have family if he was a orphan.... Now this is my speculation that, Gao Yi who was living with Jiang Hu's family and working for Jiang Hu 's father suddenly came across his father and realised his father was alive... When Gao Yi's father kept mumbling in a dazed state about embezzlement of money etc etc.. Gao Yi presumed Jiang Hu 's father had set his father up so he went on a revenge spree destroying Jiang Hu's father's business.

3.zhaoyang's painting had been vandalised by disgruntled investors who lost money in stock market... Gao Yi did not have anything to do with destruction of that painting.

Episode 19 and 20
Road ahead for Jiang Hu is difficult, she faces more difficulty related to quality of Tengyue.... Market manipulation is used by Mr. Du and Zhaoyang gets caught in the middle....Market manipulation refers when there is artificial inflation or deflation of the price of a security, for personal gain... Here pump and dump technique was tried to use...

* Yang Jian overhears Zhaoyang's conversation with the lawyer regarding termination of contract, he offers to pay the compensation for termination of Zhaoyang's contract with T T media, but Zhaoyang refuses and asks Yang Jian not to come around any longer to her house just to deliver food as he must be busy... Yang Jian leaves her house and sits outside looking at her house in a forlorn manner. after Zhaoyang finishes her work before going to bed she open the tiffin that Yang Jian had left behind for her and to her surprise she finds he had made the same scallion pancakes that she had loved in school.

* Jiang Hu hits another road block to her success when the inspection report on her shoes reveals the quality is inferior, it turns out Liu Jun's supplier was untrustworthy who sold lower quality eyelets for shoe laces... Jiang Hu orders all bad stock to be destroyed, resulting in huge financial loss for Tengyue.

*Xu Si steps in and asks for the quaterly performance report to be converted into year end performance report, buying some more time for Jiang Hu ( once again Aneda was mentioned by Mr. Du to Xu si and if Tengyue will be able to attract the attention of Aneda, which is the purpose of investing in Tengyue for Baoxing investment... Someone on the message board said Xu Si is also given a project to consolidate minor shoe brands... Tengyue is being used by Baoxing)

* Xu Si is serious about dating Jiang Hu but Jiang Hu is hesitant because currently he is the major investor and share holder of Tengyue so she cannot have a personal relation with him as of now.

* Junior Mr. Du had asked T T media to get involved in ShangChun Art Project... ShangChun Art project is a makeup company which is the first e-commerce company to have IPO. Zhaoyang was recommended for this collaboration... An artificial hype was created that because Zhao Yang is the influencer, the company started doing so well that the stock prices have increased... This is Mr. Du manipulating stock market by creating artificial demand of shares which will inflate the price of shares, when the price of shares are at all time high the person creating this artificial hype will sell all their shares in the market, he will get the highest price but because of excess supply of shares in market the price will fall down and the people who had purchased shares thinking the prices of shares are going high will not be able to sell it because now everyone is trying to sell so more supply and less demand... This share manipulation method is called pump and dump... But this will affect Zhaoyang's image because it was spread in the market that shares are rising because zhaoyang's influence so when price will fall common investors will blame zhaoyang.

* People are so angry with Zhaoyang that they vandalised the wall painting she had done for Gai Yi's company in the mall.

* zhaoyang decides to terminate her contract with T T media because she does not want her name to be associated with such underhanded business tactics.

*Xu Si tries to do some damage control by involving the original founders of Shangchun Art Project Hua Wenhai and his wife, if they reconciled instead of getting a divorce which they are in the process of then their company's image will improve, in turn stabilizing the Stock fluctuaion.... Shangchun Art Project was started by the husband and wife and they have come a long way since... So they should present a United front to save the company's Repuation which is affected by sudden downfall of the shares.

* Lastly, very endearing moments between Yang Jian and zhaoyang, zhaoyang is returning back from her meeting with Gao Yi at night in a taxi when there is some mechanical problem with the taxi and she starts walking on foot... But some ruffins, probably investors who lost money, start following her, panicked she calls Yang Jian for help who was at that moment taking a shower... Immediately upon getting her call, he puts on clothes on his wet body and starts running towards her phone location, he runs 🏃and runs 🏃.... Finally colliding with a panic stricken Zhaoyang, who is relieved to see him.. He chases those guys away... Zhaoyang takes him to her house and asks him to take a warm shower again and change into dry clothes so as not to catch cold.

*Yang Jiang looks cute taking a bubble bath surrounded by girly bath toys, after bath zhaoyang dries his hair with a dryer and applies medicine to his hurt cheek all the while reminiscing the time in high school when she used to bandage him after after his scuffles... Overall very very sweet 🍭🍬🍭 moments between zhaoyang and Yang Jian.

Xu si's and Gao Yi's role in Free Unicorn's Downfall

Actually it was Xu Si who leaked the news to a person doing an exposition article on the internet, he wanted Teng Yue's piece of land, so only if Jiang Hu's father goes through financial problems he will sell that land to Xu Si.... By breaking the news he just expedited the process, the news sooner or later would be out about the missing financer.

Gao Yi had introduced this bad financer to Jiang Hu's father, so technically when the big financer goes missing other people who have lent money or sold goods on credit to Jiang Hu's father will start demanding their own money and a business cannot pay everyone at once because they don't have so much cash on hand, so creditors would go to court to demand payment and business would be declared bankrupt by the court, all assets(properties of that business) would be auctioned and the proceeds(money) from that auction would be given to that company's creditors(people who lent money)


Xu Si leaked the news to that anchor but Gao Yi was the one to introduce a bad business person to Jiang's father.. So both of them are responsible in their own way for Free Unicorn's(Jiang Hu's father's company) going bankrupt.

The whole Free unicorn was auctioned in separate parts as it had many subsidiary companies and assests... Zhang Wenshan bid on the most Profitable companies and assests forming a major chunk of Free unicorn, (now he has changed the company's name to his family business name) that he felt could generate profits....... Xu Si bid on Tengyue's industrial site and nobody wanted the trade mark and shares of Tengyue except Jiang Hu who bought those... So everyone purchased the pieces of Free unicorn that were valuable for them/the buyer.

Let me explain this in simple manner... This is only for very basic understanding...

(Taking example of Unilever because viewers are from different countries and Unilever has operations in many countries)

I guess most viewers would have heard of Unilever, it is a multinational consumer packaged goods company... It manufactures many brands and items under different product lines like food, ice creams, cofee ,cleaning agents etc and different brands. Let me take eg of two brands: Dove, Axe.


Now think of Free unicorn = Unilever

(Free unicorn is an umberella/parent company manufacturing/supplying different clothing and shoe brands, unlike Unilever which is a multinational company, Free unicorn operates in China only)

Think of Tengyue(the brand) = Dove(the brand)

Before Free Unicorn made Tengyue(the company) it's subsidairy and Tengyue became OEM for Free Unicorn, Tengyue was established by Jiang Hu's maternal grand father and her father also joined Tengyue(this is why Jiang Hu's maternal uncle, Mr. Pei is still working at Tengyue and Tengyue was very close to Jiang Hu's mother's heart)........ But later the family(Jiang Hu's father) decided to expand their business and founded Free unicorn... So slowly Tengyue which had many different designs of shoes stopped production of them under Tengyue brand name and shifted their products to free unicorn (Tengyue company continued to manufacture shoes but they were sold under the name of Free Unicorn)... Now only one product 'rubber sole shoe' remains under the brand Tengyue.

Taking back the example of Dove... Dove has different variant of soaps, shampoos, lotions etc... Now think of Dove brand only having a single variant of soap bar.

So now Tengyue needs to be revived back by redesigning and introducing new variety of shoes in the market, it needs to establish it's independent identity which was lost when it became a subsidiary company of Free Unicorn.




As far as shares of Tengyue are concerned... Xu Si is managing the project on behalf of Baoxing Investment... So technically, Baoxing Investment owns Tengyue shares but Xu Si can make executive decisions because he had discussed his plans to obtain Tengyue shares with the Managing Director of Baoxing Investment.

I agree with the explanation of @gemwendz ... Look for shoes as far as Zhao Yang is concerned... She knows on some level Yang Jian treats her differently but she doesn't want to encourage it or go in that direction yet.

I guess upto some level Zhao Yang does see that Yang Jian cares for her and even Jiang Hu gets Xu Si's hints... But I feel the girls are afraid to change the status quo.... If things don't work out Zhao Yang may lose a great emotional support and Jiang Hu would lose a great financial support... So I feel the girls' are reluctant to acknowledge their feelings for the men.

Don't let go of the cacti😂😂😂, the screenwriter and the director of this series are using the cacti as a symbolism, so we viewers better pay close attention to it.
