Episode 22 Li Chun Feng dies.
Li Chun Feng an honorable thief who kept a record of every item he had 'borrowed' meets his demise... Wu Lian plots to apprehend Meng Wan and her allies while they attempt to steal the account book that his wife had kept for all expenses of abortion pills, doctor's visit and bribery to officials for keeping their mouth shut.... Wu Lian hides the book back in the place after discovering it first, as a bait.. This scene was evocative of cheese🧀 being used to lure mice out, corner and kill it... Li chunfeng stupidly walks into the trap and gets caught, he is beaten to death... Meng Wan and Liu Xin barely manage to take him out before he succumbs to his death... He had left a letter for his beloved Tian Xiaoling along with many bunny lanterns on which he had drawn Xiaoling's pictures engaged in various daily activities... Each drawing on those lanterns depicted his hope for a better future with her... The last few lines of his letter to her were a reflection of truth...Him and Her both were lying about their identities... Li Chun Feng being a thief reluctant to admit the truth always considered himself to be a scholar.... Tian Xiaoling assuming a Buddhist name, Jueming hoped to erase her past... His letter urges her to accept the reality and embrace it because Self-recrimination is useless. Time can never be turned back, a person can only move forward...... They could both acknowledge reality and step into the sunlight of a better future together leaving their dark past behind.... Even though Li Chun Feng died, his letter was contributory in giving Tian Xiaoling courage to confront Wu Lian, giving her solace and encouraging her to step out from under the shell... His death drew Xiaoling out from her self imposed exile....

Liu San Niang perishes in fire and symbolically the peacock flies to the moon.... Before dying she says to the group Sacrificing her life to burn down the yanyu tower is a worthy sacrifice, Sacrificing her life, for a life of friendship with them is a worthy sacrifice.
Liu Xin telling Liu San Niang that he tried the shoes she had custom made for him and they fit perfectly is a testimony of their deep friendship, they could have been each other's solace in life, but.....
Even Wu Lian couldn't help but admire Liu San Niang, he said *Meng Wan is boring * Ru Lan was ignoble *Ding Ru was like a weak, vulnerable rabbit * only Liu San Niang, having superior intelligence succeeded in protecting her chastity, but pity she ended up being a prostitute. What a stupid move! It is so not worth it. Burning the place after escaping is always a good option.
Yeah surely, but Wu Lian had tricked them and they stole the wrong key... Liu San Niang had earlier said that sacrificing one life is not good to get justice when all of them separated.....
However because of the heavy lock on her, she would never have been able to escape, so she made her choice to destroy yanyu tower and perish with it.... I truly wish she would have also survived but her last speech makes it clear that she considered sacrificing her life worth the gain.
What I liked about her choice was that she lived her life on her terms and also died on her terms.... She could never be conquered.

Watched episodes 5 to 10...too many unanswered questions that make watching interesting, creating mystery. What happened when FL, Xiao Huan was a child? What is the real intention of those masked people trying to assassinate FL and ML? what is the past connection between FL and ML, Bo Qiu?
Hopefully some satisfactory revelations await the viewers. The drama is really progressing well.. ... I will wait for few more episodes to release then watch them together.... I feel watching 4 to 5 episodes together is more appropriate... But definitely a good series.

Ban Xia who was eager to make amends with her mother and sister, left eagerly with them for shopping. She forgot to switch off the stoves on which medicine was brewing. Their whole house caught fire and burned down. Bu Ping who was at home slipped and fell unconscious while trying to douse the fire and almost became a casualty. Shi Zi had sent Li Teng Yu to kill Ke Ling. Li Teng Yu being too cowardly to kill, left an unburned torch at the Chun's residence, he had planned to make an excuse that he tried to burn their property but could now.
Now that Chun's residence had actually caught fire, Li Teng Yu was apprehended and Shi Zi was also implicated. Unaware that she herself was the reason for the fire, Ban Xia decides to go to the highest authority to punish the culprits.
Other members of the Chun family find out the real cause of the fire was Ban Xia's negligence. However they close their rank to protect her, keeping it a secret from her. Inadvertently Ban Xia finds out the truth, being an honest and upright person she reaches the court to confess her negligence to get punishment.
All her family reach the court and convince her to withdraw her confession as loss of money could be recouped as long as all of them were still together.

Ban xia overhears her mother, Ru Yu gossiping about the family with her friend. She takes offence to being the subject of discussion... During a heated argument, Ban xia challenges Ru Yu and offers to manage household in a better way.
Next morning at the breakfast table, Ban xia convinces everyone to vote for her as the household organizer.... As everyone believes her promise of a better life under her management they unanimously agree to her getting control.
Ban Xia being more book smart than street smart draws out a theoretical plan and allots everyone their new assignments. Pei Lan is given duty to help in the pharmacy, Jin Rong is giving moping duty and later kitchen duty, Ke Ling is conveniently absent during all chores, Master is given washing clothes duty.... Needless to say everyone blunders at doing unfamiliar odd jobs.
Ban xia reluctantly hands over the management back to Ru Yu, being a competitive person she is upset that she failed at the task.
Ru Yu approaches her and pacifies her, reminding her that human beings are fallible wanting to do things their own way.
We also get a glimpse at Jin Rong's childhood... At an early age she had become a caretaker of her younger siblings Ke Ling and Ban xia as their mother went out to earn money... Her desire to marry a rich man stems from those difficulties, Jin Rong wishes to give her sisters a good life from her dowry after marrying a rich man.

I did see the airing calender uploaded in the photo section of this drama... It mentions the dates as per my post.
I believe the advantage of purchasing an express package is to see the episodes before regular vip viewers can... So the availability of express package would be till 3rd october... Because only then a person can enjoy express benefits.... For eg. If express package is purchased on 30th September, a person can see episodes 20 to 25 before regular vip's can and if express package is purchased on 2nd October then express benefit will be for episodes 24 and 25 etc...
Hence for vip's without express pass next two episodes 20 and 21 should air on 1st, October. ... If the airing schedule posted in photo section is correct.

That's such an appropriate snippet for Qi Pa and Kui Mulang(especially with him being of wolf bloodline, prone to partial shift into a wolf at night) on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn festival of China, 29th September 2023.
Befitting this couple, reminding me of a scene in episode 23, Kui Mulang and Qi Pa gazing at the moon and stars while chatting.. That was the first time Qi Pa actually engaged in meaningful conversation with him..Kui Mulang looked so happy and contended.
On this day, the Chinese believe that the Moon is at its brightest and fullest size, coinciding with harvest time in the middle of Autumn. Lanterns are lit, good food is shared, it is also considered an auspicious date for marriages and courtship.
This drama will always hold a special place in my heart... I am extremely delighted that the first batch of viewers have put so much effort into building this page. I find myself drawn back to it time and again... To renew, refresh, revive my memories.
I hope this drama continues to entertain all future viewers too.
