Her knight in shining armour, Bu Ping offers to take her away to Dali... Pei Lan being a dutiful daughter refuses to leave her family.
At last after the party winds down, Pei Lan and her mother have a heart to heart... Ru Yu hands over a jade bangle to Pei Lan that was a family heirloom... Ru Yu tells Pei Lan to start speaking up for herself... All family members give Pei Lan a small personal gift each.
Pei Lan later tells Bu Ping that she considers him a family member and his place in her heart is 'second', first place assigned to ger mother and sisters.
Bu ping was so relived that the blind date was not for Pei Lan.... Bu ping reminding pei lan what she promised him when she had presumed Bu ping to be dead... The boy is Smitten.
I also like the fact that the series is not emphasizing on pei lan's little healthy physique.... Most of similar series make a deal of it.... Here pei lan is considered to be the most desirable match in the marriage market due to her good nature and hard working attitude. 👍

Right!!! Even I thought so.. That's why I added that drama in recommendations section... Although endings might be a little different based on the synopsis of this drama but it has the same feeling of deep longing but can't reveal true identity like the other drama.
Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't see it as similar or vibe thingy with the beauty and the beast.its nothing…
In my opinion this story is similar and vibing with The Beauty and The Beast because...
Here the ML is reviled /misunderstood by everyone around him only FL sees his goodness (Beast hid inside his castle because he felt like an outcast, unacceptable in the society)...
Secondly, ML is ready to sacrifice his life just to see FL being happy (Beast was dying in the end because he gave Beauty freedom to leave him)...
Lastly, ML keeps FL by his side because he wants to spend time with her(Beast putting a condition to spare Beauty's father's life for plucking the rose if Beauty stayed in his palace by his side)
Saw first 4 episodes... One of those better "bite size" drama... Definitely has good acting and story.. Hints of The Beauty and The Beast ..... What's up with "hair" Obsession 😂😂... And what a cute pet🥰
Only complaint is the airing schedule, for short length drama they should air at least two episodes per day to hold viewers interest... The schedule uploaded shows 1 episode per day after first 10 episodes air and no episodes on Saturdays and Sundays.....I will wait for some more episodes to air before watching upcoming episodes...

This episode focuses on Pei Lan's frugal nature... It was hinted that even in the past, family had suffered food poisoning due to Pei Lan unwillingness to dispose off anything.
Pei Lan makes food out of spoiled preserved vegetables, her mother unknowingly eats it and suffers from diarrhea at an inconvenient moment while she was trying her hand at matchmaking.
Even though her master and her third sister advice her to throw away bad food, she is reluctant to do so.
Later while trying to purchase vegetables, she comes across some mushroom but considers them to be pricey. Taking up the vegetable vendor's sarcastic suggestion, Pei Lan goes to the mountains to pick up mushrooms herself to save money.
Being inexperienced, Pei Lan picks poisonous mushrooms... Once again her master, who is a doctor advices her to throw away those but frugal Pei Lan not only eats them herself but also feeds clueless Bu ping some.
Both of them end up being poisoned... Pei Man's family decides to teach her a lesson to break her habit of feeding them spoilt food just to save money.
The whole family pretends that Pei Lan is on her death bed, she is also misinformed that Bu Ping died due to food poisoning. Leading to hilarious death bed confessions by pei lan.
When Pei Lan wakes up the next morning finding that it was a hoax and Bu Ping was also alive... She is back to her helpful self having learnt a valuable lesson "being too frugal may kill you".
Weakest plot so far is WL reason for being a douche bag….lazy writing
Yeah totally agree, episode 19 only revealed why Wu Lian started embroidery although it was unpopular for a male to learn it..... His past did not even give a remotely plausible explanation for his current proclivity. .. I was left puzzled.

Wu Lian is smartly using divide and rule policy to sow discord among Meng Wan's group... Still happy to see that inspite of their internal strife, they have each other's back and trust their group members... Wu Lian's plan to preside over the investigation department in the capital is praise worthy.
Episode 19 (Wu Lian's past) It only revealed why Wu Lian started embroidering although it was an unpopular choice of profession for a male....... His past did not even give a remotely plausible explanation for his current proclivity. .. I was left puzzled.
Like everyone else in the comment section, even I am scratching my head, puzzled 🤯😳... What just happened????
My speculation is that he saw that good people like his father's concubine always have bad ending... Opportunist people like his parents who are out to take each other's advantages to climb the social ladder prevail in the end... I feel the last straw was his wife's influential family cheating him by marrying off their 'soiled' daughter to a merchant class embroiderer.... He decided to become powerful and take advantage of high class people by 'damaging' their reputation and making the family of such girls feel the same humiliation he felt... Also could be that he saw that his and his father's concubine's goodness was not valued and their goodness left them vulnerable and weak... So he decided to become a predator from a prey..... His love for plum blossom embroidery was quite clear from his flashback.
The story writer could have made his past truly traumatic for his current behaviour to make sense... Hopefully he may have a little more to his backstory in the remaining episodes.
