Not so must spoiler but how's the romance?
It's not the tropey kind, but it's realistic and good, see all the rave reviews.

Review Three-Body
MLaL -- did Wang's 'clock' get turned off halfway thru this season or did they decide we no longer needed to see…
It was a fear tactic by the Trisolarans to compel him to stop the research.
Once the Trisolarans got called on their bluff, they decided it wasn't necessary any more.

Review Three-Body
Yeah, it was originally planned for 24 eps, but got stretched to 30, which led to some uneven pacing. And a lot of the cultural revolution brutality was removed, which robbed the tension for what led to Ye's decision to reply.

Also only $10M budget, which made some episodes look cheap.

I have a silly question here..What does white sparrow means??lol
It's the female assassin/spy organization of the rival 'An' State where Ruyi is from. Ruyi is actually on the elite assassin tier, much higher than white sparrow.

Haven't watched AALS yet, so only had AFS for comparison. And for me AFS is a good measurement tool as it distills…
Yeah there isn't plot similarity. For me it's much more low-resolution. To me they are similar if they both look like idol dramas, and have similar level of plot, acting, and production. 😂

Interesting. A Familiar Stranger Didn't Come to Mind. I thought more An Ancient Love Song.
Haven't watched AALS yet, so only had AFS for comparison. And for me AFS is a good measurement tool as it distills the essence of an idol drama by the virtue of its 3-hour length. If I was more into the romantic tropes I'd be more engaged for the ride through the longer scenic route. But without such a preference, I'm left vexing over all the defects of the drama.

In contrast, comedy engages me enough where I'm willing to overlook a lot of flaws. It just needs to make me laugh and I will ignore all sorts of nonsense plot, weak acting, and bad production in the mean time.

Just as most MDL viewers will find romance/intimacy artificial without the chemistry, I find chemistry artificial without compelling characters, motivation, and story. Hence my inherent issue with idol dramas.

Congrats to OFL for reaching a new Douban milestone! 4.5 is difficult to achieve, but you did it 😀

Title I Am Nobody Spoiler
I'm on episode twelve, does chulan's seal refer to his d*ck?💀
No, it something that seals his full power. But apparently one of the ways to unlock it is through losing his virginity 🤣. It's one of those elements where they mix the serious with facetious and use as joke material.

Title I Am Nobody
This drama ended like it started, without answers...
It's S1 of a likely 3 season show.

Review I Am Nobody
Regarding the last episode, I'm not sure if the others were actually *physically* present. I think they may have been there in spirit with their Qi pulled in by Qi Apotheosis. It's a theory, the exact details are not fully explained as there are future seasons to further reveal the mysteries.

Title I Am Nobody
Such a unique and fun show it was. It made me laugh, it made me cry , it made me nervous and most of all it made…
Yes S2 should start filming soon, and probably also a S3.

maybe older adults feel the same about young leads?
Yeah I wish the cdrama landscape is less bifurcated between web dramas (young idol heavy) and tv/proper dramas (prop heavy and often not translated). Whereas the later often feature older and better actors and more serious scripts, they tend also to be more conservative in script and message.

And then web dramas suffer from young idol actors not being able to carry the role and trope-heavy stories. I would estimate probably 60-80% of interesting stories (especially realistic modern stories) aren't being told because of a censorship and idol-heavy profit model. 🤡🤡

It's always relevant because it's widely considered peak cdrama (last 10 years). There's already a NiF2 from 2017.…
Only rumors, including for Leo Wu to play a character. Once casting is confirmed or they start shooting, I'm sure people will post about it here.

Review Faithful
Is the plot logic still solid, despite not necessarily delivering a satisfying treatment of the topic?
