Miao Jing's boss is teasing Chen Yi. Until 19th episode, the script doesn't imply that he was an ex.
The script describes an embarassing situation like former embarassing situations between Chen Yi and Tu Ji.
Suddenly Tu Ji's situation is revealed putting an end to this embarassment although neither Chen Yi nor Miao Jing care.
We saw similar trope in other Cdramas just to raise viewers adrenaline.

I can't believe what I read on this thread. May be this Cdrama should have the tag 14 + to avoid childish comments and/or parents supervision, or an IQ test before starting watching it 🙈🙉🙊 .

Correct. She's suprisingly so good, that I wonder which of the two is the dominant alter ego. She is not an evil character though. Actualy she could be bound to soften to the Crown prince, but her hurtful past life experience is grounding her. She is keeping the Crown prince in check.

The Crown Prince is a great manipulator. He defeated Prince Chang Yin by using Chang Yin's ego. Just like that with a few phrases and Chang Yin is down.

At the end of the 10th episode, jealousy is forseen that danger is lurking at the corner. Poor third wheel....TTT

I had that doubt around the 5th episode.

I don't mind having the details later in the story. There is no transition concerning years forwards compared to the years displayed on the screen in the previous episodes. Bouncing from one year to another without warning is quite harsh and the memory of incidents might be troublesome (for (at least me although I have a good memory).

The editing of the 10th episode was too abrupt.

Elvira Cai's acting is zombie like when she delivers bad news.
The other members of the cast are doing a good job.
It took me months to watch it Too much to and fro romantic crisis.

The AI is "casting" both genre of welknowned actors.
