I like the chemistry between the two main leads. They look very different and complementary. I like the second male lead too. He looks faithful and fun. Hope this keeps being good.
After two ep. it is pretty fun and entertaining. It looks well produced and the music is good. I think the male lead is a bit stiff and the female lead is a funny miss know it all. I liked the 3 other guys too. They all look interesting. I'll keep watching this.
This better not have some totally morally corrupt message about how it's somehow "Okay to be a psychopath"!!Other…
Psycho goes rom simple psychosis to nutcase serial killers. I don't think this dama is about killers or people deranged to the point they harm others. I hope the story will be very well written.
I don't get the issue some ppl have with the face/identity change.....she is wanted by the whole country....of…
It is weird that the ML who knows the FL true face for she was on his painting and he met her under disguise but he did not bat an eyelid when he recognized her beyond her new appearance and started to pick on her like nothing changed. It creates a strange feeling that for him appearance does not matter and he would still keep on stalking on her. Something which is quite creepy.
I was afraid by the age gap too but after watching the trailer I think it is fine. It does not show that much. And to say the truth an age gap of 14 years would be weird if the girl is 14 or 20. When she is 30 something, it is not so shocking anymore.
In CLOY almost everything just served to sell the mushy romance. It was fun but the romance was so so. She was…
So... I just finished the drama. I binge watched till the end yesterday evening and... here is my feedback. Beware It's a bit long.
I liked the way the plot was divided into different chapters corresponding to different fights, challenges and with a specific outcome. I liked the making of Jang Tae Joo's ambitions and his early win. The dispute over 1 billion dollars to bail Sung Jin Cement out. The termination of Assemblyman Kim which was fast paced with good plot twists. The hunt for Jang Tae Joo was nice too when he tries to take over the group and all the family members go after him as one man. Other parts were less good: the fight for Sung Jin Construction was wordy, long and boring with a terrible accounting and financial stunt: a so called transfer of financial assets to another holding company. Same for the purchase of or Sung Jin Steel with a betrayal of the father as closure. The fight for the chairman's chair when Choi Min Jae wins was another wordy annoying time.
Overall I think there was some good ideas. I regret they spent too many time developing things that were useless (the funeral of the chairman). They also overused the financial words. They overused alliances and treason twists. In the end, it was tiring. They should have shortened the drama by 4 or 6 episodes. Removed redundant schemes to focus on characters' development. The side of Jang Tae Joo was very lacking. His family, friends and colleagues had little evolutions and we barely know their personal feelings and what they endured. Only the girl Yoon Seol Hee had developments but for key points only. All the people on the Choi Seo Yoon side were annoying but the younger brother. They should have had less but deeper characters instead of cliché characters like the evil mother in law. All these people spending breakfast and dinner and meetings to tear each other a new one when calling themselves a family I just ended hating all of them.
Regarding the two main leads, they were pretty good in their own role. I enjoyed Jang Tae Joo as he had more character's development. He went from a nice son and student to a greedy corporate man, a murderer, a traitor to his friends and to himself to finally be eaten by his ambitions. The female lead I found she was very cold and convincing as an heiress dedicated to defend her father's company and keep her family of greedy lunatics together like her father did. Just that she did not make me feel any sympathy for her as a person.
As a couple and like I said to you in my previous message, they barely talked to each other in the first part. I did not notice any chemistry between them. There was not even one smart, brilliant, sparkling word between them. Nothing to suggest some romance or even an attraction. This is why I had big expectations after ep 12. Sadly, the second part was worse. Jang Tae Joo looked completely detached from any real involvement with a woman. What he did for Yoon Seol Hee looked more like the doing of a friend, someone indebted for life. Not the doing of a man with feelings. As for her, I don't think she really loved him either. She was like an independent free spirited girl with a weird voice but caring and faithful in friendship. She did everything to protect him and save him. At least she remained true to herself and saved her own butt in the end.
Back to Choi Seo Yoon and Jang Tae Joo. For the whole second part and particulary during the last episodes, I was hoping for something to happen that never happened. I just could not understand how these two lived under a same roof and shared a room and a name as spouses and they never felt any attraction. Even a physical one. I mean, are they not man and woman? Did they never have a small idea of taking a peek at it out of curiosity? Or drink soju to the point one is drunk and goes into the wrong bed? I felt it was unrealistic. I made me disappointed by their characters pretending to be naïve or cold regarding love or bed matters but so conniving and scheming regarding business matters. At some points Jang Tae Joo was more cool and he tried words to tease her but no, nothing happened. Their final showdown as rivals was good. She was trying to drag him down. Trap him to see how he will stick to his own principles. She wins a pyrrhic victory on everyone and he loses everything. And their last words for each other were so disappointing. Not even friendly ones. Just like "I don't really give a damn about this person".
Finally the ending of the drama is one of the worst ending I ever saw in a Korean drama :-D Jang Tae Joo last choice was a renunciation of everything he fought for. He was totally defeated as he put his defeat on Chairman Choi Dong Sung and not Choi Seo Yoon. He never went out of the forest. The guy was saying "I think I plan I decide I take responsibility". But committing suicide is nothing like taking responsibility. I put this on the production and the writer who dragged the story so much and gave him no attachment they could only drown him into the sea in the end.
In conclusion... I would say ... It was a proper punishment for me losing our bet. lol. Now I would like to ask you how did you like it yourself? and why you chose this drama as my sentence. I am quite curious about it.

OK I just finished ep12... Now I know why you wanted me to keep watching until this episode. Finally some development between the two main leads. I think they said 10 sentences to each other during this first part corresponding to a time span of seven years. And the schemes are so...
I have to say so far I am quite divided about this show. I thought I could just drop it and not tell you... :-) Now I am curious to see how things are going to evolve. More action and a better pace for the second part I hope.
