This reminds that I have to do my review for Hello Schoolgirl. It was a decent movie. Slow-paced, but reflective. Turn Left, Turn Right looks like my kind of movie.

Hi! Thanks so much for this rec. I now have it on my list! :) How have you been? Watching anything great? I just recently finished Coffee Prince. Wondering now whether I show start Rich Man, Poor Woman or Orange Days.

Freezing my butt off, but otherwise cool. I so wish I was in the Caribbean now. How about yourself? Watching anything good?
The one thing I want to try the most isn't on your list. Soju! :)
But of course you can't drink on an empty stomach so I'd definitely go for some kimbap, fry rice kimchi and seaweed soup (with beef).
I have My Name is Kim Sam Soon and Late Autumn on my list to watch. Must push these up in the priority queue. Must find out what all the fuss is about. And besides that, must say the man is perfectly gorgeous!

Sweet, thank you! I've been meaning to watch Orange Days for weeks now but other dramas kept getting in the way. I guess I'll start with that then. I had Secret Garden on my list, but removed it for several reasons, the main one being I don't care for Ha Ji Won's acting style. By no intention of my own I've managed to see her perform in a number of movies. The only one I liked her in was Closer to Heaven.

I won't be watching that drama anytime soon, no. ;)
But you've watched so much more than I, may I bother you to have a look at my PTW list (it's not very long) and recommend what I should see next? I'm having a difficult time choosing. If possible, I'd prefer something romantic (with happy ending) and not too melo. Thx! :)

Before it could ever blossom into love the crush showed himself to be a colossal ass. That's how QIHM turned out for me. Honestly the finale is 1hr of my time I don't feel like wasting right now. As you've probably guessed my emotions are running high when it comes to this show. I think I need to wait a bit until I'm back to my rational, sober self. For QIHM, I think it'll take about a year. LOL
Anyway, I saw your review for Innocent Man. I haven't seen the show and don't plan to, but it was interesting to read. I can't imagine it went down well with the fangirls. I saw some really scary behaviour on the IM page. I really had to shake my head, but then again I'm reminded that MDL IS populated with teenagers & young adults who probably don't know any better...

I have no idea why I had such a strong reaction. Maybe my expectation was too high. Or maybe I was too emotionally invested or in a bad mood. I dunno. I just think there was so much potential for this to be epic (and I guess for many it was if all the outstanding reviews are anything to go by). But it just fell flat for me. All the obstacles they threw in the couple's way was so contrived, illogical even since they kept breaking their own rules. Anyway, I'll watch the ending when I'm feeling less bitter. I doubt I'm going to like it.

At first I wasn't excited to watch QIHM because the hero has an unfortunate picture here on MDL. I wasn't interested in a love story with someone I didn't find attractive. But I thought to myself, I should give it a go because I'm way too grown to be so damn shallow. And at first I was glad I did because like you I ended up loving the guy. I was very drawn to Boong Do's quiet strength & book smarts (even though I thought he adapted WAAAY too easy to the modern world). I noticed all the same nonsense you did with the time travel but I forgave all that for the sake of their love (because when all is said and done I'm a romantic at heart). But when we got to EP 15 and they eliminate the one thing that can transport him back to the future & then come up with a stupid, gimmicky, intelligence insulting 1 year time bump to rectify the problem it pissed me the ... off! lol

The length scared me off at first too, but the stories of the 4 brothers move so fast and were mostly so interesting that you won't even notice the length anymore because you just want to find out what will happen next. That's how it was for me, at least. I was fully expecting to drop it after a few episodes but I ended up marathoning it. It's hovering somewhere around a 8 or 9 for me. I loved that it had some very valuable life lessons & wasn't very melodramatic. If you change your mind one day, I think you might like this, especially if you like Joo Won.

I was already leaning toward I might not so your input makes me wanna not prioritize it for now.
As for Joo Won yeah he's fine. I've only seen him in Ojakgyo Brothers so I haven't decided yet if I like him beyond his sexiness. lol By the way, have you seen OB? It's pretty good, mostly.

Yeah, I noticed that and have been meaning to ask you why you dropped it. I've been debating for a long time whether to add it to my list or not because the synopsis didn't engage me & though I like Joo Won he's not a strong enough motivating factor for me to see it. But everyone's so fond of it I'm really conflicted. So what didn't you like? Curious...

::blush:: Sorry about that! Thanks for listening! I know you like this drama & though it wasn't you who recommended it to me I wanted to like it so we could have something to fan girl over like with Kimmy & Pride! haha ... :)
Anyway, I would not agree that there wasn't any cliches. I saw plenty, they were just packaged in a way we don't see very often & the drama itself was very formulaic like all other K-dramas. But that's fine. I don't care about that. If I did I wouldn't watch Asian dramas. I just did not care for how gimmicky it got at the end. No closure & then that time hop really sealed the deal for me because I feel it was very ill-conceived. Everything after that felt rushed & fake to me! Like I said I really liked the couple too & wanted to love this drama for their sake. But unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. :(
Hot damn! Now this is my kinda list!
Happy to see some of my favourites. Kimura Takuya and Jung Woo-sung are just some fine-*** ahjussis! But where is Lee Byung-Hun???
And Abe Hiroshi, Fujiki Naohito, Huo Wallace, Song Il-gook, Zhou Vic ... OMG!!! Who knew such gorgeous men are walking around in Asia. I need to move there...like RIGHT.NOW! Heavens help me ...
Van Nes is a no go....dunno why girls go crazy about him....all the others I agree.
I gotta second & third this! I don't get it either, but I guess everyone's got their taste! :)

Well, Rita, it may be that we're both too difficult to please because I concur with you that QIHM is grossly overrated. I watched it over the weekend and ended up dropping it. I sure didn't see that coming, but there you have it. Everything you wrote about the less than stellar acting, the inconsistent time travel and what not, I agree! However, I could have forgiven all that had it ended better. Mind you, I did NOT watch the last episode. I watched up to EP15 and I was so pissed off by the sudden turn of events and that stupid makjangy time jump that I dropped it in a massive bout of temper. Check addicted2dramas' profile. I explained in detail what caused this drama to be such a huge disappointment. I'd love to hear what you think because I searched for a review of it from you and couldn't find one.

And one last thing before I end my rant! LOL
I also loved the leads. I went in not being a fan of the hero because I wasn't impressed by neither his acting skills nor his looks, but he really grew on me in QIHM. I guess because you could see that he and the heroine were really into each other, not just acting. The heroine was cute too. I liked her. That's why for such a great couple I wanted a really nice ending for them. Not him being stuck in the Jesoen period followed by a huge time jump and all that crap. No, just ... No. I didn't like that at all.
