Ohhhh, Hanaomma! How could I forget. I love Mi Suk. Such a resourceful lady. Dumb dumb Tae Sik doesn't deserve her, but okay. He's been through a lot so they have my blessing. As for Cha Soo Young ... honestly I don't even want to hear that woman's name. Ojakgyo Brothers could have been a 10 for me if it wasn't for her and her 12 yr old self. Bah! lol

Love your latest episode review for Ojakgyo Brothers! I agree on all counts but ... omo, who is Mi Suk again? Isn't she Tae Sik's love interest, the one who later dumps him?

LOL, ok, I'll give it go. I like sports dramas even if I don't understand most sports. And if there's a central romance tossed in, I'm gamed! :D

The sequel looks amazing if the kissing scenes on youtube are anything to go by. Cheers for all these amazing recs, Addy! :)

Damn, that's hot! If I'm not mistaken I think I already have it on my PTW list (too lazy to go check). And I like that it has a sequel which shows their life after marriage. Sold! :D

Wicked! In that case what Taiwanese drama do you recommend I see next? You know I love me some darn good kisses - in real life and in my entertainment! haha So ... give me something romantic and with happy ending please! :D I also wouldn't mind a drama in which there are not only good kisses, but frequent kisses. From what I've seen a lot of dramas (no matter where from) will have a kiss in the early episodes and then won't give us another one until several episodes later. I don't like that, but I guess that's how Asians do their things... Hey haven't you seen Lie To Me yet? If you haven't you should, esp if you like good kisses like me. You might think me shallow as heck but the promise of decent kisses was what led me to that drama and I wasn't disappointed. My only complaint is that they were too far in between.

Yepp, have some good ones for you. Not knowing exactly what you like I'm going to give you a few alternatives.
1) 3-iron - whenever people ask me to recommend a movie, esp a romantic one, this one always tops my list. This is an artsy, rather than a commercial, type of movie but so beautifully done all the way from acting to music. I think, I hope, you'll enjoy it as much as I did.
2) I see you have Only You/Always on your PTW list. This is a really nice one. The story isn't anything new under the sun, but if you're a romantic like me then it's a must watch.
3) I mentioned Closer to Heaven earlier. This is a tragedy, but so moving and sweet I can't avoid adding it to the list. Also for some reason Ha Ji Won's acting did not annoy me at all in this.
4) My Little Bride - rom-com. Hilarious & cute!
I have more for you,but start with those first & see how you like them. Enjoy! :)

Oh dear, not happy to hear that because if it had less romance than Pride then I imagine it's pretty much non-existent? Would that be correct? In that case maybe I'll put off watching it for now ...
I've looked at a good number of your reviews and I think you hit the nail right on the head in most of them. My impression is that you know what you like and that's great! ;)

Oh great, aside from Secret Garden I have all the others on my PTW list! Good to have them passed by a fellow love junkie! :D I took Secret Garden off my list because I've seen the lead actress in a couple of roles and I don't care for her style. I only liked her in Closer to Heaven. Thanks the recs! :)

Thanks! I really wanted to give it more, especially since it's so popular here on MDL, but I just couldn't do it. Can't give credit where it isn't due.

Yep, I've heard about the great kisses in Coffee Prince. I even went & searched for it on Youtube to see for myself because what constitutes a "real" kiss may vary from person to person, esp since the majority of MDL'er are teenagers/young adults -- was actually surprised to discover this! -- not ajhummas like me. I liked what I saw! :D I also like the actress. I think she takes her job seriously. She was also in Lie To Me which had few but really great kisses! So far in QIHM I haven't seen any great kissing -- just the shocked, open-eye stuff, ugh -- but I'm only at EP6 so I'm hoping better things will come! I haven't watched many J-dramas, in fact I've only watched one, Pride - but from reviews and stuff I get the impression that they do kisses better too. I know I was quite satisfied with the 2 we got in Pride (I was very jealous of Aki let me tell you! LOL). What do you think?

Yes! I really hate those bloody frozen kisses in Korean dramas. I mean really, who kisses like that? I've only seen one Taiwanese drama (Autumn's Concerto) and I can see what you mean. I made the same point in my review of AC. The Koreans should definitely take a page from their book! haha

Don't worry, neither are mine. I never let peer pressure force me to evaluate anything above what I think it deserves so kudos to you for sticking to your guns. Re: QIHM I still haven't formed a preliminary opinion of it, but when it comes to your consistency issue I can see where you're coming from. I personally don't think someone coming from a completely different era, no matter how smart he is, would adapt so seamlessly into modern society. I'm just not buying that, but I put it down to creative license and the expectation that we should suspend belief. As for Innocent Man, you're really going against the wave, aren't you? Pretty much every profile I've visited recently have up it as a fav. Now I'm very curious to hear what you have to say about it! After QIHM I'm thinking of watching Buzzer Beat which has been compared to Pride. I loved Pride so I'm looking forward to this!

Hi Starae, I came stalking your profile after I read your review for Big! I had no plans to watch that drama, but I appreciate your feedback because now I know it must be really bad if so many people disliked it. You and I have something in common in that we both love romantic dramas. I'm fairly new to dramaland so I'm always on the look out for good, romantic stories with a happy ending. Do you have any good recs for me? I see that you dropped Padam Padam ... that was my first drama. Didn't you like it or was the romance too sporadic for you? Cheers! :)

Hi Rita, thanks for responding and hope you enjoyed your holiday! I've really enjoyed reading your reviews and have even added a lot of PTW dramas/movies based on them. I understand that Ojakgyo Brothers scare a lot of people because of its length but it's worth it, for the most part. Right now I'm watching crowd pleaser Queen In Hyun's Man. Still early days but I'm anticipating future episodes since sooo many people love this one! Also finished Pride recently and OMG! I'm so in love with Kimura Takuya right now! hehe Anyway, anything good on your watch list for the rest of the week? :)

Gotcha. Seems like we also have that in common then. As long as I find a good story (and if there's eye candy too, what a bonus! :) that keeps me glued I don't pay too much attention to genre or where the movie's from. If I'm not in the mood for that genre right now I'll leave it on my PTW list until I am. Aright, off to watch another episode of QIHM before I have to go work! :)
