Vin Zhang should stay away from Jaywalk dramas. They keep giving him weak characters.
Kind of wierd that you'd see a security agent as weak when he looks sissyish in Rattan. So is it then really a jaywalk thing...

I'm sure by the time I'm done with rebel Princess, court lady will have gotten midway and will be getting fair reactions, I also love liyitong and Xu Kai so until then, tnx for the reply.

I made the mistake of classifying court lady among dramas of a more serious genre so I was hurt to find out it was a romcom. I'm planning to watch a lighter drama after rebel Princess but the last time I checked it was 50 episodes, and 50 episodes is a dangerous journey to embark on for a romcom. So I'm wondering how good it is so far.

I think this is more about personal growth of the characters, rather than politics, they are shown just enough…
I find it difficult to see this drama from that perspective, because when you compare it with other dramas that fit your description like the story of minglan (I mean comparing the ratio of politics to character development) the politicking in this drama is way more and it even has a dominant war tag. That aside, for a drama focused on character development, the emotions, motives and thought processes are not emphasized or made clear enough to classify among other dramas in that genre. For me this drama has fallen low into the class of dramas like I will never let you go, so I can't continue, maybe I'll pick it up some other day during my next drama drought.

You are comparing apple and orange. These two drama are 2 poles apart on storyline. It's not a political drama.…
I'm not comparing the two dramas, if you read my post clearly you'd see that I mentioned that I was catching episodes of this drama in between bingeing rebel Princess which just emphasized the flaws of this drama and this was a major reason for dropping it, not in the sense that they are comparable.

For a political drama or a drama trying to integrate a political plotline, this drama is too focused on giving viewers a piece of their faves rather than developing the plotline, making the political scope too narrow. The MC herself is too shallow minded to be carrying the show, add bad writing and fair to decent acting, you get a half baked character.
If I try to look at it from a romantic point of view, the MCs are not working for me. Maybe it has to do with the fact that the development is too tropey and I'm not feeling "the zing".
It doesn't help that I'm trying to catch episodes in between bingeing something as masterfully crafted and detailed as the rebel Princess. So I guess this is a drop.

Gets better. Watch it till the end. Get some tissues too.
The ending was explained and it was made clear that it was a happy ending. If you listen to the last conversations and events you might reach the same conclusions on your own

The second leads are not manipulative but of course there's the occasional obsessed bitches but not enough to create misunderstandings between the leads. The OTP trust each other so misunderstandings are not silly and don't last long.

I don't agree with your opinion. Now the drama is ranked first in the rating. Since the drama is conducted on…
They're pretty well much ready to make noise over anything.

YM: shows off flat belly or her weight and they accuse her of promoting unhealthy eating habits.
Zhao liying: shows off crazy abs and "A4 paper thin" waist and is praised for looking fit and being hardworking.

YM: "sees daughter for 37 days in a year" accused of being a bad parent
ZLY: claims to work 300 days a year on set and is praised for hardwork.

YM: loses square jaw, immediately accused of plastic surgery
ZLY: Loses wide face, defended for losing baby fat.

The list goes on and on, it's about the one with the active fans. They make it to the rivals posts first and immediately set it up as a the meeting area for trolls, Level headed individuals don't have any space to fit into such scenarios, so they stay away.
