The ending was explained and it was made clear that it was a happy ending. If you listen to the last conversations and events you might reach the same conclusions on your own

The second leads are not manipulative but of course there's the occasional obsessed bitches but not enough to create misunderstandings between the leads. The OTP trust each other so misunderstandings are not silly and don't last long.

They're pretty well much ready to make noise over anything.

YM: shows off flat belly or her weight and they accuse her of promoting unhealthy eating habits.
Zhao liying: shows off crazy abs and "A4 paper thin" waist and is praised for looking fit and being hardworking.

YM: "sees daughter for 37 days in a year" accused of being a bad parent
ZLY: claims to work 300 days a year on set and is praised for hardwork.

YM: loses square jaw, immediately accused of plastic surgery
ZLY: Loses wide face, defended for losing baby fat.

The list goes on and on, it's about the one with the active fans. They make it to the rivals posts first and immediately set it up as a the meeting area for trolls, Level headed individuals don't have any space to fit into such scenarios, so they stay away.

Seriously whenever there's YM good news, there's always this bunch of people that come to bring up her divorce and child custody issues again, I never bought into the paid anti's stuff but it's times like this that I start considering it, like the way they just come out of the woodwork, that much hate doesn't make any sense.

Ok then, I'm just going to stop here bcoz I don't think I'm going to like where this is going. My whole point from the beginning has been to point out that your level of unloading here is unwarranted, this is drama was shot in 2019 and the script decided on long before, so you have to agree casting choices for jaywalk artists has changed much since then.
2. I don't believe I'm alone when I say this drama has quality, you've only seen a few episodes and it unravels much from there, but your tolerance levels are your own, you either like it or you don't. You can't speak for everyone here by saying that this drama is generally bad or that the production team is not serious here.
3. Jaywalk studios was only established in 2014, within that time till now, pushing their artists and trying to find footing among other long standing studios with their biggest break being eternal love, do you really expect them to be producing the next game of thrones by now. If it were that easy, is there any studio or artist that wants to be stuck with tons of negative criticism. The factors that are involved have to be more complicated than that.



As it's about personal preference ABOUT THE DRAMA let's criticize the drama and leave other factors that we can't explain with legit 100% facts please. With that being said I won't be talking on this thread anymore.

It's best not to get into details, I don't want to be murdered for spreading hate.

I'm not trying to call you out for being a hater, I too believe in individual preferences but if it's about personal preferences then why not say so and leave it at that. The little group of users watching here are not here for idol worshipping and are actually enjoying the drama. YM's dramas don't run on traffic but actual good qualities, but it doesn't mean there won't be viewers with different preferences, that's accepted.
If the drama is bad even fans will express their disappointment and hope for better projects. I'd also like to see YM in dramas that draw out the qualities that make her shine as an actress, but it doesn't mean her projects are all bad. I don't believe I'm alone when I say an actors acting heavily relies on the dramas definition of the character, if you don't find the character interesting then you can't attribute it to bad acting, an actors acting skills does not diminish but varies based on how much depth the script demands.

People wanting to boycott this drama doesn't have anything to do with the drama not being able to keep their interest. If that were true then wouldn't 70% Percent of Chinese dramas have been boycotted. I don't believe that picking a good script guarantees a hit drama, it's more complicated than that, look at something like the legends, a potentially good plot ruined in its adaptation for the screen or legend of fei ruined by too much traffic, disinterested actors and low quality production. Besides from what I've seen this drama is doing quite well on TV ratings, and from what I've seen of it it's actually a good watch.

I know right, it's like 30% level headed mature and 70% water army. And this majority are very loud and illogical. You run into them all the time on posts for YM, Tang yan or any other actress in the age group and end up entering into silly arguments when you came for other reasons. They mostly want to argue on how these actresses shouldn't be getting the acknowledgements they are getting when their idol has done nothing to deserve to be in their place.

I've always found it difficult to like this "somebody", she seems to have the most arrogant, brainless and toxic fandom in the existence of this industry. Even if I choose to ignore this big loophole, I can't ignore her snake-like attitude that causes a lot of toxicity for other celebrities that are trying to make a name for themselves. Authenticity no longer exists no matter how hard they try because "oops a certain someone has already attempted it even if you obviously do it better". YM will of course ignore haters and will continue doing her thing, all the gibberish in the world cannot stop someone who is truly capable and it will also not stop them from being acknowledged, not even "humble beginnings".

Yeah, I take age Gap romance seriously, so I can get mad if the production team doesn't.

Not that alone, a change of faces is necessary, besides other artists need to be promoted. I'm happy to see Daisy Dai here, hopefully she'll get to head her show soon.

Lots of interesting historical dramas are airing now, the genre has a larger audience, so most users are putting this on the shelf till they are done with those. The competition is tough, if this had aired last year that was so boring and dull maybe the attention would have been more.
